  1. There are some very costly Corums out there and some very good replicas available, just not the romulus line. I do like it though.
  2. +1 think this design is ugly to begin with. No amount of gold or diamonds or subdial correctness could make me purchase. "You can put a tuxedo on a pig, but you still have a pig"
  3. That is kind of odd that the are only making reps of the version that doesn't exist yet. I love the oyster bracelet too, but since I have so many oyster watches I think the jubilee will be nice for a change. Can't wait for the TT versions. I'm sure they will be available soon in both oyster and jubilee. I don't want to link this site directly to Rolex so here is a link to a board where the link to the press kit is: Press Kit
  4. I don't think they make that line of replicas. You may find some cheaper knock offs that are similiar to that style, but nothing of good quality.
  5. I would assume you would have to use some kind of diamond wet polishing wheel, like the one used with ceramic tile. Using water as a lubricant helps cool the material and keep it from shattering. Also the diamond dust would be the only material hard enough to make any change in the ceramic. Keep in mind, I know nothing about this subject just thought this solution would be logical. You would probably burn through any dremel wheel pretty fast with either no results or shattering the bezel.
  6. Uh, Raijor, it has been established that all they are offering right now is the oyster bracelet. I was disappointed in not seeing the Jubilee bracelet. Is that what you meant or did you missunderstand?
  7. I could tell you where to get one, but then I'd have to kill you. mwahhahhaa
  8. Yup, 3 weeks and no tobacco. As for the super jubilee that is good news. I will probably buy the gen of this watch if it is available with the jubilee bracelet. I ca honestly say I wouldn't even need a diamond bezel. The fluted is very nice. Maybe some diamond hour markers though Even with a gen, I would still like to have a nice rep TT with a good wrapped bracelet. Like the old ones that were around when they first introduced the new style jubilee bracelet with the crown clasp on 36mm case.
  9. Yes the press kit was posted on a Rolex forum and also on their website.
  10. So I am looking at puretime's site and see the new Datejust II. No price yet so I think it will be available soon. It looks really good from the pics. I am thinking I would love to have a 41mm two tone datejust Jubillee bracelet with gold wrapped center links and maybe a white or gold dial. A modern twist on a classic watch. No diamonds, just simple and refined. I figure if the SS version is out now the TT will follow soon. Excited about this being around the corner I go to the Rolex site and even download the Basel PDF. One thing I notice is the Datejust II is only available on the oyster bracelet. No, No NOooooooo. It seems that all of the new dateust II reps are nothing but fantasy. Does anyone know if there will be a 41mm Dateust available in TT with the jubille bracelet? I think Rolex is making a big mistake not offering the 41mm with the jubillee bracelet. I don't know how I feel about wearing a replica that is pure fantasy. This is the only model I would consider buying tat doesn't exist in the genuine world because the combination is extremely attractive but again I don't know if I could feel comfortable wearing it if Rolex doesn't make it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
  11. I saw a TV program about Rolex a few years ago. They had a blinged out President with the mickey mouse dial encrusted in diamonds. Sweet, but I haven't been able to find a pic of this watch anywhere.
  12. That is good news. I like the PR dial. Looks classy. I also would like a god two tone Datejust II with gold wrapped links and bezel. I know MBW did a TT sub, so maybe a TT DJII.
  13. If this does have the 2892, is this a different version from the ones the dealers here have? Different case with better crown position? Damn nice looking watch BTW.
  14. I always like that watch. I had the smaller size before the Jumbo was available but it was too small for me. What size is your wrist? It looks good.
  15. The design isn't too bad. Maybe Rolex should step into the 21st century and make an all ceramic watch. They could tweak the design a bit as to not infringe on the factories copyright.
  16. I am from Long Island originally. Merrick to be exact. Times like these I wish I was still there. Then I look out my window and see the ocean and remember why I moved to Florida in the first place LOL. Very nice gesture. Sounds like it will be fun and with your location people from NYC and NJ should be able to make it. Good luck. Be sure to post some pics of the GTG. Make me sentimental for my home town.
  17. 99.9% of the population wouldn't know the difference between a panerai, AP or IWC if it hit them in the face. Unless you are around other collectors all of these models will go unnoticed. Even a large percentage of avid watch collectors can't tell the difference between a good rep and a gen. My point is, since most people don't know who Audemars or Panerai are, there is nothing to get called out over. If you have a genuine Rolex on your wrist in NYC, everyone would just assume it is fake.
  18. No one has really said much about this Yachtmaster on Kings showbox: Yachtmaster It has the 2892 movement, thiner case and higher crown position all for $385. This one can also take a genuine movement. Is WM9's that much better to justify almost double the price?
  19. That is good news. I have been using Chrome on and off for a while. I just decided this week to use it exclusively however. IE8 has been running very slow and when a new windows opens half the time it doesn't even load. I like the simplicity of chrome and if their OS is just as simple, it will be well received. I hate Vista but feel trapped into it since it is hard to find any new machine with XP installed. I don't even use 80% of the features of Vista. I feel Microsoft is on a downward spiral especially with those stupid commercials where they pay for someone's PC and that annoying woman screaming "whaaaaaat". For a company that has such a huge piece of the market you would think they would have the brains and money to design a decent marketing campaign.
  20. Found this on Timeshops. Almost fell off my chair. Quartz movement, full ceramic case and bracelet. Who buys these things and how drunk was the factory owner when they designed it? I understand the cheap $20 canal st. reps but this one is over $200!!! I guess the high price is due to the ceramic.
  21. How can any company successfully ban anyone from selling genuine merchandise? That will never fly. I do believe the likes of Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Gucci, etc. are so closed minded that they believe if their products are discounted their brand loses value. Plus, most of the high end watch brands prohibit online retailers as do many clothing lines. Gucci and Louis both have online shops where you can buy their products direct at full retail however. I remember an article a while back where Rolex was trying to ban the sale of used watches. They even sued a guy who installed after market parts and sold them as used even though he disclosed the after market parts. These companies should have no right to but into peoples' private business.
  22. Same watch and $200 cheaper....... I wonder if he can get the WM9 Yachtmaster.
  23. Yes Loctite works, but it is better to just wear a casio while skiing..........
  24. Here is one: Patek I don't think it is very accurate though. This one is nice though: Patek Or you could go with the most accurate Patek reps available: nautilus Aquanaut There are also some decent Calatrava replicas available.
  25. Yup, Hublot is really milking this design with countless variations and special editions. They are beginning to remind me of Invicta and Renato. You will see these on ebay for $500 in a few years.....
