Being the nit picky obsessive person I am, after reading this post and posting the above I grabbed my daytona, GMT IIc and a cape cod cloth. I tell you it does make a huge difference. Apparently the steel comes from the factory with a lot of dirt. I have polished the daytona before but a year or two of not cleaning it dulled the steel quite a bit. Also the brushed affect is not so prevelent on the gen Rolex due to the higher grade steel. The polishing brightened it up and cleaned off the dirt giving it that more smooth shiny look. It is probably not noticable in pics but I will compare with my friends gen daytona tomorrow.

Thanks for posting Tanfo. Always a treat to see what you have.

I agree with this 1000%. I know many people with gen Rolexes. I have a friend with a gen daytona. Visually the rep I have and the gen are quite similiar but the steel side by side is night and day. The brushed parts of the bracelet look almost polished compared to the brushed parts of the rep. You can see the shine from 20 feet away. Even next to a gen datejust you can see a major difference. I have found that a polshing with a cape cod cloth gets the steel brighter but nowhere near the 904 shine.

Who is the seller on this? I haven't seen any rep bracelets with actual ceramic. Most are plastic. Are you sure this isn't just steel PVD? If it is PVD it will probably get scratched up easily. Also it has the tuiga case back but it doesn't have the tuiga dial. Is the back closed because it is quartz or a non chrono movement?

Very, very nice. Rolex uses only top grade mop. There are reps with real mop dials but the quality doesn't compare. You see all sorts of colors on the gen Rolex mop dials. It really pops out at you.

They don't hae chili at the subways here in Florida. Do you mean jalapeno peppers? I am Jewish and I will eat a pigs ass if its cooked right...........Pork is delicious. @Kenberg: What did you smoke before you entered subway and came up with that concoction? Sounds like the munchies to me. I feel very bad for all of you folks who rely on subway for good sandwiches. You haven't had a sub until you have had a whitehouse sub in Atantic City. Second prize goes to Laspada here in south Floria

I nearly forgot Rolex did a wood dial president in the 80's. Imagine his pen on the center console of a Caddy with the wood steering wheel while driving wearing the wood dial President. Oh and wood temple Cartier sunglasses of course......

From what I can tell, it takes a few clicks through pics of genuine watches to get to the actual replicas. They don't specify the exact movement only quartz or automatic and they don't have any prices listed. The actual watches they have are crap and very low end. If the prices are $40 less han our trusted dealers then the prices are to high. I wouldn't pay more than $50 or $75 for any watch I saw on that site.
-
If the watch is called the Godfather the the only watch that would go with it is a Rolex President in yellow gold. I do however fell this pen is more elegant and worthy of a Patek Calatrava or chronograph. Considering high end pens go for big money, one of these hand carved out of solid wood should sell for over $200 to $500 on the retail market. Here amongst friends, a significant discount should apply............

I never liked these co branded combo products. If you are going to do someting well, do just one thing. It makes the watchmakers look like their products aren't good enough to stand on their own. I can't see Rolex or Vacheron Constantin or Pate Phillipe marketing a clock radio/cuisinart. This is just ridiculous.

I don't get their prices either. The market for the watches that are sold on shop nbc is created by them. Invicta, SWI, Renato, Croton and others would never have the sales they do without shop nbc. I also see the prices steadily rising on all these brands as they gain a client base. It used to be the most expensive Invicta was $200 now they have quartz chronograph models selling or several thousand. Their marketing plan is to put high prices on their websit and then blow out these models on TV for half the price. SWI's watch that is listed at $900 tday was on TV a few months ago for about $400. If you want one watch the show and wait for the deals.

I have been lucky with all my bling watches. The stones have never fell out and they all seem to be good quality CZ's. The key to fake stones is the smaler the better. It is alot easier to tell a large stone is fake than a small one. As far as how long any rep will last, remember a replica is only a replica. These are not meant to be heirloom watches. If something breaks or wears out, buy a new one. I never even polish my reps. Once the get too scratched up they are out of regular rotation.

Breaking News! Italian Customs and Rep watches

so that means the gen manufacturers are entitled to a $280,000,000 fine assuming $10k per watch retail. Now they will claim that they stopped the watch industry from losing $280,000,000. I bet they were all $20 canal street quality. Stupid to ship the tools with the watches. The tools were probably wrth more than the watches. -

Watch it now............... Even I wouldn't wear a Daytona with diamonds. They [censored] up a perfectly good watch several times over. -
Here is a great link to Baselword and all the new toys.

They should bring back the lapis lazuli dial sub they had a short run of sometime in the past. The lapis dial is far more attractive than that wierd cobalt color they came out with. -
They go for between $7k and $9k at the very most pre-owned on ebay. Take it to an estate buyer and maybe get $4k to $5k for it. I would buy it for $3,500 if you need cash fast................But only if you upgrade your membership. Or I can send you an envelope so you can send it to me..

The bezel font is very futuristic via 70's sci fi esque. Cheapens the watch IMO. I also like the 12, 9, 6 dial configuration better. Does anyone really believe that Breitling is going to manufacture an entire movement in house? Still looks like a 7750 base to me. I could be wrong. Could they have repped the 7750 movement? Could this be a result of shortages from ETA?

I'm extremely glad to see they found new ways to place diamonds on the daytonas.................... Seriously, most of that [censored] is garbage. I would however like to see some 1:1 reps of the larger datejusts and day date II sans the flower dials...... -
Why would you buy a replica of an SWI anyway? You can buy them on Shop NBC for between $300 and $400 with swiss ETA movements. Ok, maybe not the valijoux based one, but the standard ones. I agree with Ken, those sites are using gen pics and there is no market for this rep so they are most likely not produced and these sites are trying to scam you. Why not try a nice asia 7750 based IWC or lemania based Patek or Vacheron from one of our trusted dealers. These have a similiar look and you wont be ripped off or dissapointed.
-
You are correct in that I associated that function wth Panerai, however I assumed since Breitling uses the same 7750 based movement that function would be the same. You learn something new every day. The button seems a bit useless if you ask me. How many times do you have to push it to get it to spin all the way around? And I assume it only moves the bezel in one direction. I liked my idea of the button setting the date better. Either way on the rep it doesn't function. Not really an obvious tell IMO considering I have never had anyone walk up and attempt to push a button on any of my watches.

There is really nothing you can do to stop gold plating from wearing out. I cannot tell you if any dealers full gold gmt will be a better quality however I can tell you that the full gold replicas I have bought have had very high quality plating and I have worn many of them for years without problems. The new gmt with the ceramic bezel from josh/andrew/king/puretime, etc seems to have good quality plating. f you bought a $50 replica you will get $50 plating. Most of the good gold watches will run you around $300 from our trusted dealers.
-
On the gen it is used to set the date on the rep it is non functional.

The Breitling Chronomat Evolution is available with a CZ bezel and is 44mm. Very good quality watch as well.
