  1. That would be nice. I'm always around....... That is a nice boss you have there if he would let you do it. My old boss wouldn't even let me borrow his 32 ft contender. We will be in a very upscale neighborhood surrounded by yachts and million dollar homes. No worries. The good thing is if we do get jacked the joke will be on the robbers......... I wonder what kind of security the TZ GTG's have.
  2. I would love top see an AP ROO seconds@12 in the flesh. Unfortunatley I don't have much to offer as far as unique watches as most of my collection is Rolex. I'll just bring some bling............ Ditto...
  3. I just moved to Ft lauderdale beach a month ago. In 4 weeks I have been to Hooters about 15 times . Hooters would be a great place for a GTG. We have ocean view, good wings, beer, liquor and of course Hooters . If not hooters someplace maybe someplace else on the strip. Plus you can't beat the weather on the beach this time of year. I can spend all day outside.
  4. Poker tracker is the best software out there. They give you 60 days for free and it's $90 after that. Well worth it if you are a serious player.
  5. This is the easy bracelet to replicate and I am surprised they have not done it before. IMO, the bracelet with the carbon fiber midlinks is the only one for this watch. My ultimate is all rose gold, polished ceramic bezel, rose gold and CF bracelet. I wonder if they will make a fully iced bracelet to go with the iced out case version. Now that would be ultimate.
  6. First of all, where did she get $400k? A reverend or a nurse will not have $400k in cash. Second she is a reverend. Probably prayed for the big $$$. Greedy religious faith. Ironic huh?
  7. If you are gonna do it, do it all the way. I love the full bling HBB. Just wish they had the bracelet too.
  8. This is the one I am waiting for. I almost bought the non chrono version of this with genuine diamonds, but I know the 38mm is too small for me. This will bew on my wrist if they make a good rep of it.
  9. Hey thats my wife............
  10. The big corporations have put mom and pop stores out of business for decades. Wal-Mart comes into a town with their low low prices and poof, no more mom and pop. You buy a loaf of bread from Wal-mart you are killing small business. The world is not perfect, I don't need to justify what I do but I think your statement is far too idealistic and unfounded. In response to your comment about the dwindling economy, there are plenty of people out there doing very well. There are more millionaires today than ever. Don't let the media fool you. The last thing i want to do is to get into a debate over the morality of peoples' professions. I wanted to tell this story because I know alot of people are going through hard times. I was hoping to brighten someones day by letting them know that things do get better. Not just for me, but hard times come and go just like good times.
  11. Words of wisdom from Pugwash. Maybe I'll just quit now..........Riiiiight. Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, Monte Carlo all casino cities. You don't think they were built with winners' money do you? Someone has to lose for someone to win in any business. I don't play huge limits so noone can get hurt too bad. 97% of poker players play for entertainment and recreation. 1 or 2% play for profit and about 1% of gamblers are compulsive. These are real statistics. BTW, a good portion of the 97% of recreational players are stupid. Nothing wrong with that. The stupid people have gotten plenty of money from me as well. Any poker player will know what I mean.
  12. There was one a while back, unfortunately I missed it. I would be up for one since I have nothing else to do. I can meet you for lunch today at the Banana Boat in Boynton beach..
  13. @Teejay: If you are serious about making some extra money playing poker I say go for it. But please before you invest one penny there are a few things you must do: 1. Buy and read Doyle Brunson's super system 2. 2. Read Doyle Brunson's Super system 2 again. 3. Sign up for an online poker account. I like Full Tilt. Good mix of fish and sharks and free advice from the pro's. They also have free tourneys for new members and deposit bonuses. 4. Play some play money games. 5. Play some more play money games. 6. Play as many free tournaments as you can. If you win one or even cash in one you can get yourself a little bankroll without risking any of your own money. 7. Now it is time for a more advanced book. Buy and read Harrington on Cash Games volumes I and II. These are the best books on cash games. Most others focus on tournament play. 8. Read Harrington on Cash Games Volume I and II again. 9. If ny now you have invested 60 or 90 days into learning the basics of poker and you feel you are confident enough to play for real, make a small deposit and start at low limits. I made the mistake of depositing $1,000 my first time online. I ran it up pretty high and then ran it down very quickly. The low limit players are the worst. If you can beat the low limits you can move up the ladder. 10. Study and play as much as you can. The only way to learn is experience. You will have ups and downs but you will not experience every situation without playing. Analyze your play when you lose and remember what you should have done differently for the next time you are in the same situation. 11. Download and use Poker Tracker. This program will analyze your play automatically. You should improve with every 10,000 hands. Good luck.
  14. It all sounds like a bad country song. Yes those are just material possesions. I have bought and sold more gold, diamonds and watches than your local Pawn shop. I have been up and down more times in my life than most people twice my age. I used to be mad and depressed when I had to sell my stuff, but this time I looked at it quite differently. I amproud that I made enough money to buy nice stuff. I am thankful that my stuff can help me out in my time of need. I will work harder this time and will eventually get more stuff....... Thanks Chino. You know there is a saying, "lucky in cards unlucky in love". I guess you can't have everything, but I will surely try.
  15. yes there is real money to be made. It is not easy. Some days you can make a ton of money in an hour, some days lose a ton of money in a minute. You have to be able mentally to handle the swings. Keep in mind I have been playing both live and online for about 9 years. I have read several books and lost a lot of money trying to figure out the game. I have only recently really begun to understand what to do in certain situations where I have made wrong decisions in the past. Poker is all about decision making. In order to make money you have to make the right decisions most of the time. I have done this before and done well, but always went back to work. It just hasn't been the right time for me. With all that has happened and the job market as horrible as it is, I believe it is my time to live the dream.
  16. I know a lot of people have fallen upon hard times all over the world in recent months. The stock market has been up and down and the job market is getting smaller while the number of applicants are growing. In the middle of all this turmoil America elects it's first black president who seems to be teetering on the edge of the left. This could be great for the country or it could be horrible but only time will tell. It is not my intention to start a political debate so please no comments on this. If any one cares to read on I just need to vent a little bit because my life has been very tough this year. Like many people I went from making huge money a few years ago to being unemployed this year. I have taken a few jobs and made a little money but nothing significant. In july I took a sales job with a developer in Costa Rica. This was my second hoorah with Costa Rican Real Estate. After a few months with them I realized noone is spending any money and I wil not make a living here. September I turned 33. October I am out of a job. My savings is about depleted due to the fact I am a compulsive spender and I haven't worked much all year. My lease is up the end of November and I get a letter from the management company with an application for renewal. I have been here for over 4 years and have always paid my rent on time. The rent is not cheap here BTW. There is a new management company and they want to review each individual before renewal. Long story longer they decide not to renew my lease due to a DUI on my record. Unreal. So now I am about broke with no place to live and my girlfriend tells me she is moving to Illinois for a job. Well I can't hold her back so I encourage her to leave. I say to myself, don't panic, don't go out and get [censored] up because that won't solve anything. Luckily I have some jewelry I can part with and put it up on ebay. I also have a good amount of money in my online poker account so I cash out most of it. I get an email from the poker room that because of the US laws banning bank transactions for online gambling I have to wait 2 months for a check. I have to move in less than 30 days that won't work. I sell some jewelery and raise a little money but not enough for a move or to live on for a few months. The icing on the cake was that my coffee maker broke, my iced tea maker broke and the motor scooter that I use for transportation all broke down the same week. Here is where it starts to turn around. I cashed out my poker money October 3rd and don't expect it until December 3rd. My check arrived on November 3rd!!! Score!!! I have been looking at houses and duplexes to rent in Fort Lauderdale I decide I want to live on the beach. I look at 3 or 4 dumps for huge rent. Then I find a brand new listing for a huge 2 bed 2 bath duplex one block from the beach. The rent is $50 per month less than I am paying now. Apparently the owner hasn't raised the rent in years and keeps the other unit vacant for when he comes to florida. I am the first one to see it and the realtor is getting calls on the place while I am there. I negotiate a reasonable move in price and write them a check on the spot. After a credit check and verifiation of my rental history, I am approved!!! I now have a beautiful home on the beach for ridiculously low rent with noone living next door to me. I have switched to another poker site with fast cashout option and have been making money. I now decide I am playing poker full time. To top it all off a girl I used to work with (who is 10 years younger than me and my other G/F) called me out of the blue and wants to go out. She lives close to my new home so we will get together often after my move. To sum up I went from being broke, homeless and alone to having money, a great place on the beach, and a prospect for a new girlfriend. I also stopped drinking coffee, bought a new iced tea maker and fixed my scooter. I am optimistic that my years of playing and studying poker will pay off as my new carreer. I know a lot of people are going through rough times right now. I want people to know that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Things do get better and everything happens for a reason. Keep your head up, persevere and never give up.
  17. I recently sold a bunch of stuff on ebay. I am on my third ebay account and third or fourth paypal account due to buyer chargebacks in the past. I have had two of those accounts to over 150 positive feedback and I am now forced to start all over again because of assholes on ebay. Here is how it works with paypal now. If you have less than 100 feedback they will hold your funds on any ebay sale over $100 until one of the following happens: 1. 21 days pass 2. you receive positive feedback from the buyer 3. 3 days pass after the item was delivered. This is paypals only way to fight seller fraud. I agree with it and dissagree at the same time. I have sold more than $4,000 worth of merchandise over the past two months and only had to call ebay once about an item where feedback was left and the funds weren't released. They checked it out and released the funds for me on the spot. The two downsides are: 1. Tracking information isn't always updated on USPS or UPS. I suggest using Fedex for the higher priced items as their tracking info is the most reliable. The tracking is integrated to paypal so they know when an item is delivered. 2. People don't always leave feedback. I have received feedback 2 or 3 weeks after the fact and many times not at all. The good news is that the holds only apply to ebay transactions. All other payments are available to you immediately so if you sell on a watch forum you will have your funds right away.
  18. Very very nice. I have always wanted a solid gold yachtmaster, but I think it looks better now because the previous bezel insert was no good. Great work!!
  19. Great tip pug. Does this work for all kinds of pictures, not just movements? Does the bag have to be white? My local supermarket has light tannish plastic bags.
  20. I don't understand the problem with the power reserve. There have been plenty of reps with different dial configurations that have a working power reserve. This one without working power reserve doesn't bother me because if you have a true automatic 7 day movement, it should almost always be at full power of you are wearing it regularly so it won't move much. I would much rather see a good dial. The gen platinum should have "platinum" around all the details on the dial including those two circles on either side of the triangle on the top. And also get rid of those deep concentric circles on the subdial.
  21. Mitsubishi DLP is by far the best tV on the market. I have owned nothing but Mitsubishi bigt screens. The light guns last the longest out of any brand. I have a 55" widescreen HD rear projection for 5 years now and it is still going strong. Most other brands will need some kind of repair after 3 or 4 years. DLP is also the best picture available escecially for the money. The sad thing is they are phasing out DLP because everyone wants a flat screen. The picture on LCD's are very poor especially the blacks. Plasma is a great picture, but they get very hot and don't last more than 5 years. You will also see burn in on plasma's due to the heat. I would suggest a DLP by Mitsubishi before they are no longer available. Also you can go very large with a DLP and the picture will be just as good on a 65" as a 40". 1080p is great for DVD's and blu ray but there are no tv signals that are broadcast in 1080p yet. Mitsubishi is the only TV that has a processor that will convert ANY signal to 1080p automatically. The technology is far superior. I know I sound like I work for them but I am very passionate about my electronics and Mitsubishi is one of the only brands that has never let me down. I also bought one for my mom 10 years ago (the old square 45" projection) and it is still running strong!!!
  22. Some quick and dirty shots of teo daytonas that I have had for a long time. The SS one was purchased from sean a dealer in taiwan when they first dropped in price. I believe it is 3 to 4 years old and still working perfectly. The case is far superior to the chinese two tone version. Much thinner and better finish. The two tone version purchased from paul starts and stops intermittently. This problem came about after a couple months. I don;t know enough about movements to take either apart but my guess is the first SS versions had better movements. It runs alot smoother as well. They are both asian btw. I don't think there is any way they can improve on the current daytona without a totally new movement. It would have to be much more reliable and thinner to allow for a thinner case. This would also allow for better proportions of the crystal and bezel which is too slanted in the current versions. If they do a completely new movement for the daytona, maybe a clone of the 4135, it will be quite expensive considering they couldn't use it in any other watch. If they made a zenith clone they could use it in more watches, but it wouldn't be as popular as the modern daytona. The only quick fix I can see is to make a thinner case, remove the rotor and make it hand wound, and add jewels to the transfer gears.
  23. The Omega Constellation Double Eagle is probably the least talked about highest quality rep available. I have had the Two tone version for several years and always get compliments on it. It is 40mm, sporty yet dressy so very versatile. You also won't see yourself coming and going in this watch. At a gen price of around $3k it is not far fetched that anyone would own a real one. The rep is very well built and substantial on the wrist. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the submariner. They are the quintescential replica and for every gen you see there are 20 fakes.
  24. The one thing that still bothers me about these watches is that one dial seems to be correct for the SS version and one for the white gold version, but the back says Platinum and none are correct for the platinum version, is this correct? I like the platinum dial on the gen as well. I wish I knew if they were planning the correct platinum version. A couple years ago I would have bought this right away, but after being in the game so long I have become very picky. This is why I don't buy many watches anymore.
  25. You beat me to it. Now that to me is exciting. I have done alot of business with Sean. He is one of the few good dealers left that are in Taiwan. I am assuming that this is the new version of TW best.
