  1. I bought 8 $1.00 lottery tickets for a total of $8.00 at exactly 8 minutes to 8:00 this morning. The time was just a fluke as I was on my way to work. The drawing is tommorrow. If I win a free watch to all platinum members!!! Wish me luck.
  2. This is a very intersting looking watch. I might prefer one in gold. The only thing that would make me hesitate is the fact that I have never given much wrist time to rectangular watches. The novelty wears off for me quickly and that is why I never bought the Bvlgari assioma. This watch is very tempting though.
  3. Ahh, the good ol days.................
  4. I have been wearing mine regularly for a few weeks and not a scratch. The dealers describe it as a sandwich bezel meaning it is only a layer of ceramic on the top.
  5. Yo mamma's so dumb, she took you on a trip to Disney World, she saw a sign that said "Disney World Left"........... So she went home. Yo mamma's so fat she jumped in the air and got stuck. Yo mamma's so fat her blood type is Ragu. Yo mamma's so fat when her beeper went off everybody said "watch out she's backing up".
  6. I can say for sure that the gen Rolex day dates wear much larger than the reps. I have owned both.
  7. This news doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is that people still believe that these boards are such a small part of these dealers' businesses. They all claim to be super dealers and our business means nothing to them. This proves that no matter what anyone says we are a huge part of these dealers' business and they are afraid of losing their profits. We need to put our feet down and let them know we wont put up with this BS.
  8. Andrew is a very well rounded player and I must point out that he won this in a very difficult event. If it were me I would be wearing this everywhere!!!
  9. It could just be a fake case with a genuine dial and bracelet. Even though the bracelet is gold it could also be aftermarket. You need to remove the bakc and see if you at least have a genuine movement. If not, return it immediately, or better yet have the guy you bought it from open it in front of you. The case however is definately fake. Post some pics here and we can give you more info.
  10. Louis Vuitton won $63 million in their lawsuit against ebay in France. The question is however, will they ever collect? Isn't ebay only bound by US law since it is a US company? Would they even have to pay that and would LV have any way of collecting? I know the US tries to enforce it's laws world wide. They have arrested several owners of internet gambling companies for operating totally legitimate companies.
  11. Just saw on msnbc the new iphone has software problems. They can't be fully activated at teh store
  12. USPS certified insured is the safest way to ship. I have shipped many high priced items this way (none at $15k but over $6k). The people at the post office assured me that everyone who handles the package must sign for it and it is held in a safe. The postal service insurance is for real as well. I wouldn't worry about the foregin buyer. I once sold a $1,000 watch on ebay to a guy in Costa Rica. He sent me a fedex with 10 $100 bills sight unseen without asking a single question. The worst case scenario is the guy in malaysia uses a stolen credit card for the purchase. as long as you get the funds transfered who cares?
  13. The price makes no sense at all seeing that it is a very uncomlicated watch. Not really good looking either. The seconds @ 12 AP is less expensive and has more work put into it IMO.
  14. I got a great deal on an 18k gold president that way. I found a guy who lent someone $3800 for his pres as collateral and that is all he wanted for it. Got a great deal, wore it for a while and sold it for over $6,000. Not as good a deal as aa Daytona for $350 but I was happy.
  15. The end of an era indeed. I think this is the best move however. We have definately moved into a new era and RWG is in the forefront. I will miss TRC as I was member #159 (I believe) and have had an incredible 5 years there. I like many, migrated to TRC from RWCC and eventually ended up here. I look forward to many more years here at RWG and appreciate all of the hard work the Admin team has put in over the years. It is truly a privledge to have been a part of THE original site that started it all and helped make this hobby what it is today.
  16. I still have to disagree with you. 1-2% of 50 watches per day is about 10 to 12 watches per month in sales that are from 3 high traffic replica message boards with a combined 25,000 to 40,000 members? I think you need to rethink your statement. I can only estimate, but reading through all the new posts on a daily basis, Josh and Andrew seem to be the most popular dealers on all the boards. Other dealers do a good business as well, but if he is selling 1,000 watches per month or more and there are many members buying 2-5 watches per month each, you need to recalculate your numbers. All of these communities combined do make up a large percentage of the dealers' business. Maybe not close to all of it but enough that their pockets would be affected if every board member stopped buying from them. Additioanlly, we may not be THE driving force behind this hobby, but I have only seen improvements in the replica industry since these boards have been around and I have been buying fake watches for 20 years. Quality and accuracy has only come about in the past 7 or 8 years and has made leaps and bounds in the past 3 years due to the fact that concerns and desires of accuracy and quality can be discussed in an open forum. There have also been many new models attributed to the tastes and demands of this community that I feel wouldn't have been produced otherwise. Driving force? Maybe not, but significant part of the industry yes.
  17. One of the local jewelers have a billboard of this on I-95. Kinda strange looking but interesting nonetheless. I couldn't see this getting much wrist time in my collection. A little cheesy using the "grand" designation since Seiko coined that a long time ago.
  18. I'm with you Delta. I have never met one person outside of this board that has the same appreciation, knowledge or desire to purchase a high end replica. I have met many people that have cheap reps purchased in NYC or elsewhere and most are very proud of their wokky, huge pearl shitinerand submariners that cost $20. They always comment on how real they look. We are a small group of people who demand the best replicas available. If you go into a department store the average citizen, Seiko, Timex, Croton, etc are all around $100 to $200. Most people believe that a watch over $200 is a lifetime heirloom piece. Most people would cringe at the idea of spending $200, $300 or even close to $1,000 for a fake watch. Admin can back me up when I say there are many many dealers who have waited and begged to be allowed to trade on tehse boards. Unless these dealers have a booth in the watch district or are spending huge money on pay per click advertising, we are a huge part of their business IMO. We heard this same thing long ago from Paul but yet he still posts offers regularly. Why bother if you don't need the business?
  19. To sell 50 watches per day he (or they) must receive at least 1,000 emails per day. If your inquiry to sale ratio is around 5 to 10% in any business you are doing great. It is physically impossible for any one person to respond to over 1,000 emails per day. This brings into light a new theory. Call me mr conspiracy and flame me if you will, but tell me if this makes sense. We know the Andrew and Josh are made up names to sound more americanized in the first place seeing that us americans or other foreigners have trouble pronouncing Asian names. I have never had a problem with that. It has been going on for years starting with Mohammed calling himself Mike or Sam at every convenience store. I think that maybe Andrew and Josh started out as small individual dealers. They are obviously great marketeers because they have built up quite a nice business. Somehwere along the line they joined forces forming a conglomerate. They tried to suck in King and Angus, but those two went their own directions. These two dealers have become very high volume and have hired some help. The emails are reponded to according to which site they are generated from to still give that personal feel. Maybe they go into the same inbox and are distributed in the same office for replies. Andrew and Josh have become the Ronald Mcdonald or Colonals of the replica watch industry. They have branded themselves and continue to project their image but in reality emails are coming from some $2 per hour assistant. I don't care if this is the case, but there is no reason to talk to any customer like this. If my assistant eer made a comment like that she would be fired in a heartbeat. Just some food for thought that our dealers aren't as personal as they seem. Why do you think some dealers actually post on the boards regularly and others don't? Andrew and Josh are like the big box store of reps. Not a bad thing, but just also an assumption.
  20. That is a horrible thing to say to ANY customer. Evern if you just bought ONE watch your business should be just as important as anyone elses. I have been in business for myself many times and I have never discounted a customers requests or concerns once I have done business with them. The reason he sells 50 pcs per day is a combination of the little guys and the big guys. 30 watches in a year is a good purchase. I remember the old dealers gave me great treament after a second purchase. I have one in particular I email every now and then and he still remembers me and appreciates my business, maybe 2 watches per year. Andrew is getting too big for his britches. Remember where you came from.
  21. That is absolutely beautiful!!! Why don't you send it to me for a while? It would look great on my wrist at the poker table.
  22. Ofrei has them for $26.00. Selita also makes a very good swiss movement. They are used in a lot of the watches they sell on shop NBC like Invicta, Renato and Croton. I think these companies are using these because ETA's are becoming more expensive and rare, but there are other swiss movements that are cheaper and more readily available. I can only assume however that these copy ETA's cost just a few dollars to make. Thsi makes it very profitable to the factories and doesn't motivate them to acquire other branded movements. I say buy the asian copies on purpose and you will never get screwed. You may even get a gen ETA as a mistake. Wouldn't that be funny.
  23. How smooth is the sweep on the second hand with this movement? Is it as smooth as a "swiss" eta?
  24. I have always opted for the "swiss" versions of watches and only purposly purchased an "asian" movement if it is a chronograph or only offered on asian 21j. I don't open my watches but I do notice that the supposed "swiss" watches do have a very smooth sweep. Can anyone tell if the asian ETA clones second hands sweep as smoothly as the swiss counterparts? Is there really any difference in the function of the watch? If there is no noticable difference I for one will not be paying extra for what may be swiss. It is a replica watch anyway and if it is going to eventually be a paperweight I want to spend as little on it as possible. At the same time, I don't think the dealers are all to blame here. I am sure most of them have the best intentions when promising swiss ETA, but the factories are slipping a good number through. It is the law of averages. How many people that buy a fake watch actually open the case?
