  1. It does, but it's sporadic. Sometimes it will go for several hours before it mis-aligns, and even then it's barely noticeable.
  2. First PAM rep in awhile I've kept for more than 4 days without flipping!!!
  3. I was having a hard time deciding which strap to pair up with my newly acquired 356. I came across the recently released black Asso strap from OP with off-white stitching and I couldn't be happier. I thought I was going to get the black calf with ecru stitching, but this THE one for me. It comes in several shades from straight-up gray to dark charcoal. I settled for somewhere in the middle as I know that they tend did get a darker patina with age. This strap photographs about 20% lighter than it appears in-person. From my phone...
  4. Thanks! I think it's good enough that it deserves the gen strap it comes with.
  5. Did a little trade today and picked up this 356. The accuracy to gen is very impressive. CG is nearly perfect down to the slightly off-center lever pin. I forgot to wipe down the crystal for pics, it's impressive both in clarity and bevel/edge finish. The dirty lume uncharged is a spot-on match too. You hardly see this watch posted anymore. More pics this weekend. In the meantime, I would like to see what strap combos 356 owners prefer... post away...
  6. Hey guys, I ordered the watch from a dealer at RWI. However, it's from the Noob factory, so any dealer that carries Noob should be able to get it for you.
  7. Some 100% crops from my phone today... Hands are clean and the case back engraving is decent enough for me. The strap impressed me. Little to none hole distortion unlike previous rep Assos... even on the backside which usually gets squared of quickly. I've been wearing the strap for 3 days now. Stitching is gen spec with very even spacing and no fuzzies CG continues to impress even from the backside...
  8. I hope to have an answer this weekend comparing my watch to gen. At this point I can say that the hands are definitely not yellow-gold. Not rose-gold either. Probably best described as somewhere in between, and that depends what kind of light they are under. Comparing to pics online is an exercise in futility.
  9. The kick back is the ratchet wheel doing it's thing with each wind. Keep winding until you feel an obvious resistance to winding any further (this will feel different than the kick back, you'll know it when you feel it). When you feel that, you know it is fully wound. Do this and you won't over wind it and will get full power reserve for 36 hours or more. The ratchet wheel kick back you get with each stroke should feel a little soft and not that strong compared to the resistance you get when fully wound.
  10. Did you wind it all of the way to the end? Should take about 40-50 winds I think.
  11. I've now owned this one for 2 days... if I keep it through the weekend, it may be a keeper and a new record for length of time owned Phone pic today messing with a ring light...
  12. I wish it was, it's the latest version to come from the Noob factory.
  13. Arrived this week and all it needed was a full winding. I didn't need to do a single mod to it. Even the cg was good to go!
  14. Wow... what a difference that dial makes.
  15. Speaking only for myself, I try to buy a watch that already has a good cg to case fitment... otherwise I don't buy it. Plus I'm lazy, it's not an easy mod to get a perfect fit.
  16. I do not have any experience with either of the dealers you mention. I use a dealer that is listed at RWI for new releases and try to buy all other watches from members I trust.
  17. Profile shot before a NW case back was added... background is a page from Volker's 2nd book of Vintage Panerai.
  18. Thanks guys... appreciate the compliments A little dial macro... Noob got it right...
  19. This one was acquired yesterday in trade locally. It's a Noob v3 that was sent off to The Zigmeister by the first owner for a movement service and Asian Inca mod. I flattened and polished the winding and ratchet wheel screws as well as the teeth of both. Then I did a re-polish of the case set and fine-tuned the cg body, lever and both roller-bearing and lever pins. During a long lunch break today I grabbed some phone pics of one of my favorite SS 44mm PAMs... Flattened and ready to go back in...
  20. I want to tweak the case set some more and add a little more subtle wear and tear overall. Also add some age to the dial... keeping that subtle too, I'm not a fan of the ravaged by time look.
  21. About a year ago I sold this build, then recently bought it back. After missing it and thinking about what else I wanted to do with it, it's time to get started now that it's back. Until I tear it back down, I have it on my newly acquired Kostas strap from his 1:1 Grail collection. Killer strap. Here are the parts so far... ETA 6497-1 mvt Gen T25 Plexi (original, not the service version that comes in a clear baggie with red lettering) Small run Kbiz dial painted and lumed by Merlin699 Nightwatch case back Nightwatch cg lightly re-worked Nightwatch crown and tube Nightwatch mvt ring Nighwatch hands lumed by me DSN case reshaped/work-in-progress Neckyzip's pressure-fit lug bars Kostas strap Some pics before it gets taken apart. I'll update this thread periodically during the modding/rebuild. For now... Corners softly squared-off per gen... Lovely crisp edge gen plexi profile... Another wristy with the new Kostas strap...
  22. You sound a little defensive. You need to understand that all a potential seller sees is that you have been a member for over a year and only have 5 posts, and those are responses to FS ads. With only those 5 posts to go by, it doesn't inspire much confidence. Don't take it so personally, we don't know you and you have given us very little to change that
  23. In the individual red bags is the service version. Not quite as thick as the original and the edge distortion is a little different as well as the side-view profile... subtle differences. The originals came in tubes of a dozen or more with each one wrapped individually with tissue. I found the DSN plexi to be closest to the original. I'll post comparison pics of DSN next to gen when I get home. The currnt crop of molded plexi still magnify to some degree and have a little too much edge distortion. The DSN is better than all of them.
