  1. yep, this looks exactly like the pics from george and the running seconds at 9 (see the various pics on the auction) have taken away the little doubt i had..... somebody is going to loose a lot of €€€...
  2. it looks sooo close.. if only the numbers would have been a little more "crooked" then it would have been 99.9% accurate... but still very nice indeed!
  3. or try this: http://www.r-l-x.de/wbb2/board.php?boardid=2
  4. beautifull pam V, really beautifull!!!!
  5. can you tell me how you removed the bezel and crystal?
  6. if that's the case then i'm happy.. although i would like to see some more side profile pics but i haven't been able to find them.. but if it is the correct crystal then that's one less issue to worry about. the things that remain are the mineral crystal on the back, the minte hand that is a bit too pointy, the dial not being properly aligned and the flaw on the dial. most of these things can be fixed, but i didn't expect this from EL's "ultimate" fiddy... i can't wait to hear from him...
  7. jep, here ya go! i really hope i am wrong and i hope that this is the way the crystal should look but i am just not sure at this moment... i hope the pics help in deciding if the crystal on EL's fiddy is correct or not.. please post some pics for comparison guys; especially of josh's ultimate version!
  8. i just received EL's new fiddy and although it is a very nice watch, it's not as advertised. i did some testing and the front seems saphire but the back is absolutely mineral. i'm actually more worried about the shape of the saphire, it seems to me that it is not a complete dome based on the fact that the numerals are not as distorted as they should be and the angle in the dome isn't very fluid. i must say that i have never compared it to the real mccoy but when i compare it with josh's pics i see a big differences; it seems the numerals are more distorted and the dome in the crystal seems more fluent. I contacted EL about this but still haven't heard back from him. . could any of you who has josh's ultimate fiddy post a pic of the side view of the crystal? that way i can check if there is a difference in the shape of the dome. the dial in EL's version has some small flaws and it isn't alligned 100% accurate as well, hopefully this can be resolved as well. I am not sure it there is a difference in the shape of the case itself. the movement is beautifull and the ar coating on the front crystal is also seems very nice. i hope EL will get in touch soon and hopefully explain this which i am sure he will do since he has a good rep!
  9. man, it's truly a beauty!!! awesome work Tommy!!
  10. Very well spoken Randy!! Couldn't agree with you more!! @doc and they always clame the dutch are far from warm and fuzzy (blunt and a little too direct are terms more frequently used i believe ) but i'm glad to send some good vibes into this thread so it won't get too cold have you been to a'dam recently? any change of paying a visit to that nice jeweler were i got my 1675?

    Sirprise

the first one is indeed very beautifull!!!!
  12. sorry to hear all this guys, but i'm glad finepics and tommy offer a great service and do an outstanding job helping this little community with the modd needs! i have been doing business with tommy for some time now and i am really very happy with his customer service and quality of work! apart from that i also am very happy that i never get the feeling that tommy is trying to get the bill as high as possible, instead he has alwyas been very honoust and straightforward when it comes down to various modds needed for a watch, and alwyas has given his honoust opinion so i never got the idea that he is in it for the $$$. i've never had the pleasure of dealing with finepics, but from what i read and see on the forums i can only come to the conclusion that he is (like tommy) a stand-up guy! thanks guys for providing such great work for this community!!! cheers, fitch PS and i think The Zigmeister's wunderfull detailed and informative posts and efforts to contribute to this community speak for itself!
  13. well... i'm not really that active as a member and still received a couple of similar pm's so i guess it's just a matter of luck
  14. grin.. IWC is a difficult brand from that perspective; they make such beautifull watches but also at a pretty high price.. the movement in my Sinn 756.S is pretty much the same as the movement in my IWC fliegerchronograph, I know IWC tweaked the movement and did (god knows what) with it, but it's basicly the same movement (if I am not mistaken) but the watch costs about 4x more... And I know; IWC is measuring up with the "big guys" and the brand has been taken over by Richemont too (did you guys know that the former big boss of IWC is now head of Sinn..?) so I guess that explains it but still... I haven't seen a rep of IWC that can match the quality of some of the gens and I specificly mean the details like the old style diamond shaped stainless steel bracelet that came with the fliegerchronograph; but on the downside; nowadays IWC doesn't make those anymore due to being to labor-intensive... so a big thank-you to the richemont company (argh...)
  15. great watch!! I wish I bought one when they were still avaliable... sigh... now all that can be bought is a rep or an overpriced gen...
  16. @TJGladeRaider; that's why i love a brand like Sinn so much; not that i love all there models but some are magnificent AND have a fair price! btw. I was looking at pics of Davidsen's 201a and when I compare it with a gen I don't enjoy it 19.720usd more so especially when it comes down to panerai i really don't get the high prices and imo it's sooo not worth it.. i like panerai, i must say i never heard of it before richemont took over but i really don't like the company behind it (richemont) and same goes for brands like rolex, although i really like the rolex watches...
  17. hmmm... that looks sweet allright.. does anybody know the reference numbers of the Pre-Vendome straps?
  18. @V; any idea what would be a better alternative in this color range? i really like this type of color
  19. what other straps would be nice? how about this one: http://www.strap-works.com/1860LVCA-07.jpg i am not sure if it is thick enough (i REALLY like thick straps..)
  20. were did you get that strap?! it's a beauty!
  21. it still looks damn fine as it is!! is looks reaaaalllly tempting...
