  1. How cool is that!! Do us a favour and tell me where and what this actually is! Am after a nice vintage looking Rolex just like this one, looks awesome mate. Want a nice Nato strapped version and aged lume like yours. Ta
  2. Love that avatar.......got a bigger version anywhere? lol
  3. Thats interesting.......might look into getting one of those. Is his new site up and running or are we still running from the eurotimez.com site?
  4. Holy [censored], I found it! This is the watch that must have worn the bracelet in the first place!!! The strap that I have in the box is like the silver one on middle watch.......seems to be off a Tissot Pr516 Series, so maybe he had one of those too! Might try and fine a body for the strap, and restore that then give it to him next year......that would be kinda cool. http://www.sometimeago.com/staext/GetImage...efix=1217941461 Gonna find the watch now and fit it back! I'd love to know what came on the BWC one as standard back then. Bet it looked like a right load of rubbish!
  5. Vintage Seiko's are really nice, I'm after a 70's Bullhead at the moment, its going to be a restoration project, want one in a mess, then buy the new crowns, face, hands and bezel, you can get nice heavy duty bracelents too and basically restore the whole lot, really nice looking HEAVY lump of a watch. Ooops, sorry about that, they are links off my facebook mate. TeeJay If this is the one your on about, then I feel ****ing sick.......because I think your right, it would have looked better.....LMAO! BOLL**X!! The one that WAS on it when he gave it to me is a metal version of the above with a tissot clasp, its solid stainless bent into into a wrist shape like a solid bracelet, pretty cool but 18mm, the lugs on the watch were 20mm so it looked to skinny. LOL! I counted my watches last night, have lost track.....I have 14, am getting a nice case for them soon, wish I had a son too, so I could hand this lot down to him, not sure my 3yr old daughter is going to be into this somehow unless i start getting pink ones with diamonds
  6. Thanks......I've not taken it off for a week.....lol Should have seen my olds man's face when he saw it and I told him what that poor watch had been suffering from!
  7. LMAO! I just watched the whole lot, its pretty unreal how old that is! Just goes to show how much technology was lost by the romans and Greeks!
  8. I really like that! Where did you get the strap and buckle from? That looks awesome!
  9. My father has always had this BWC Swiss Incabloc Chonograph (Wind Up) watch in his drawer, i remember seeing it as a kid, he'd put some drilled Tissot metal two piece bracelet on it and it never quite looked right, he bought it when I was still swimming about in his crown jewels!!! If ever we look through photos of me as an nipper, I can see this thing on his wrist with him in his flared jeans and handle bar moustache....like an extra from YMCA haha! Well in the late 70's it started playing up and a friend of his who was familier with movements had a look at it and fixed it up for him, over time he got new watches and it got buried back in his drawer. I kept on and on at him to give it to me and he finally gave in 8 years ago when I was 24, I would wear it on and off for the next 8 years, but finally decided to get it serviced properly and give it a good general birthday, its the least I could do seeing as its never really been done in 35 years! Well I dropped it off at my smith with a load of other watches a few weeks ago, and got it back, he also helped me source what he thought would be a nice strap to compliment it better. Well when its turn came for a service he rang me up and told me the bad news....... Its full of black powder!!! I was like "what the hell are you on about?".......seems my dads mate had damaged the original gasket on the back, and put some kid of black liquid gasket on there instead thinking it would get a good seal! this "liquid" gasket had over the years dried and perished then turned to a powder and fallen into the movement which had be "chewing" on it for YEARS!, he showed me the state of it and it was FULL of crap. Well being it was sentimental just told him to go for it and rip it down, he cleaned it all up, lubed it all and put in new gaskets, regulated it all and handed it back all sorted. I have to say I'm really happy because this one means quite a lot to me since my father owned it when he was my age (well younger actually) and he actually bought it as a reverse sale..... He had a load of cash in his pocket from selling his Austin Alegro.....lol (yea I know, how much did he get eh!) He was looking through all the watches and the salesman took one look at him and suggested to my father that he might see something more in his price range at the others side of the shop. So my father just said.......Naaaah its ok, I want that one and bought it there and then.....lol Just thought I'd share this little story, its not often you get a nice watch handed down from father to son, and its nice that its working like new again, its seems to wind smoother, an the Chrono its running nice and sharp too. Any of you have a similar watch hand down story?? The strap I got for it now is a Genuine Osterich Skin one, I think it looks good on the watch, no doubt some of you will suggest other ideas Would love to have seen what it was wearing from the shop, I dare say it looked pants, but I've not even been able to find anything like it on Google either, not sure of the model or anything. All it says on the back is STAINLESS STEEL * WATERPROOF * ANTIMAGNETIC * INCABLOC * SWISS MADE 903009
  10. Yea just for the record, mines not the 3G one either.
  11. So whats in yours? Mine has the usual......Beer, Eggs, Cheese, nothing interesting......
  12. Clever B***ard! Awesome idea Gonna do that on my Deepsea that I order from Chris. Well done FxrAndy
  13. Looks really good on that mate, well done! Classy
  14. So did he get a better movement or what? Result ! :-)
  15. I had this problem with mine too Tim, its a pain in the ass, I tried with Samurai did, and it seemed to have cured it. I also have the latest updated firmware. But hey.......dont listen to me.......I'm a scammer anyway hahaha! Hope you get it sorted, its annoying when the whole thing is touchscreen too and that acts up! I think I may have to many apps on mine?
  16. Maybe! your links are gold down the middle so it could well be a different bracket! Mine feels and acts like a gen bracelet now, very happy with it. Getting an ETA deep sea V3 off chris in the new year, looking forward to that one
  17. I really like the black and gold one, I found my Euromainer bracelet was sharp along the edges, nothing a bit of sandpaper and 2 hrs won't fix though. Then a soak in olive oil gave it a nice lubricated heavy click feel rather than a dry lightweight jingle. Well worth doing mate.
  18. Thats really clever!! really details too! Gotta love us British LOL
  19. Nice pic mate, not my thing at all because it's a bit bright, but I can see the appeal. great looking watch!
  20. Might do this myself as my crown looks like it's slightly discoloured. A gen fat tube crown would look sweet!
  21. You have jumped the gun a little fast here TT, we are all "Middle Men" in a way.......all the dealers here are middle men, they buy the watches from the sources then sell them here and on line and take their cut! We are doing the same but the difference is, we are not in it for the the money! I have sent you a long PM and offered you all that you could ever need about my job, personal life, my home numbers, Ebay account, and everything else, get back to me so I can send it to you. There is absoluly no reason for this servicing thing to be limited to a few on here, this site is for people who love watches, its not a buisness enterprise, or a contest, its about the members at the end of the day and so help us to help them, specially the ones in the EU and the UK. Ken. Will Pm you bud, have also pm'd TT as I'm not keen on the suggested idea we are out to sting anyone!!! That's the last thing we want to do. I can see how it looks to some people and respect the fact your looking out for the members here. Hopefully you mods will see this and post back to say we are the nice guys Please can TT get back to me, so we can move forward and help people. Have a good weekend guys, S
  22. I will be happy to give you my credentials, am sure bibbs will do the same, can supply plenty of info for a mod to look into so long as its kept private and they vouch for us. I will vouch for my contact the same way the mods can vouch for us, so if a mod would like to PM me and I will give them whatever they like.
  23. Absolutly, well said mate. I dont want to offend anyone, I will continue to use him and continue to spend time here with you fine fellows. Sure as hell don't want people thinking we are in any way "shady" or not trustworthy.
  24. Wow! A certain Mod DID say this might happen! That's fine guys, I totally understand your concern Just trying to help out that was all. We may be new here, and we both in professional jobs. Bibbs has already confirmed his watches are better and running nicer/more quiet, and I know the uk and EU guys struggle with finding reliable servicing. No offence taken, just dissapointed as we were not doing it to make any money, in fact our plan was to help people out in a time when people seem reluctant to help eachother! In fact if anything we would have been losing out slightly. I am not willing to give out his address and phone numbers as explained, the reason being his work takes place at his work shop at his home, he does this as a hobby (as The Zigmeister does) and as we know finding a someone to carry out work is very hard indeed, I came across him via a friend, and cleared this extra work with him before offering to help others. I'm not going to give him any cause to think that dealing with me is complicated or that I have given out his private details. He DOES have 1000's of watches in his collection, and I dare say he uses them for spares when fixing movements too, I have to say I actually feel a bit sick that some people think there is something odd happening here, specially when we are going out of our way to help. Its a bit of a slap in the face really With regards to "dissing" a long term member........I never dissed anyone!, I told the truth, and other on here said the same thing regarding time taken to reply.....just gave my opinion, inface I gave that opinion before I had even offered to help people here, so its not like it was done to get buisness or steer people away from other service stations! Its not "game over" either, I see it more like the members here that are in the UK will just have to be limited to the two options available to them.......it makes my life a lot easier thats for sure, will think twice about going out of my way to help people in the future. This is a real shame for a lot of you guys in regards to pricing and service. Time here is also not a reason to push our offer away as other people offering a service have been here even less time! As I said, no offence taken, we are all trying to do the same thing here, And that's look after our members. S
