yeah he is a f**king douchebag....
I have never met such a tool manager in my life. As a matter of fact, the guys down in sydney are much better - so much more helpful and cheaper....
are there other watchmakers suppliers in the U.S apart from this looneytune store?

Yes 2824 is date and 2836 is daydate but is the same movement, only additional parts is different...
no you still didn't get the main point. Alligoat wrote the height difference for a reason, the two movements have different heights which means that the 2836 fits better because the hole where the stem fits into actually lines up with the crown tube hole. The 2824 is a little thinner which means that the stem won't fit well when you try to screw down the crown.
hope that clears it.

vintage Omega seamaster 300!!!!!!

just to add to TripleHD's comments,
Yes, i installed a Genuine dial and hands on another members 4th generation PO and it was fine. Apart from having to make the seconds hand fit more snuggly (due to the hole being too small), I felt that the OEM parts made the watch look better and showed no disproportion.
-
not when the sellers states "movement may be different to original" and show pictures of different watches.
likely a fake re-written to pass ebay rules

its funny that almost all the posters in this thread are supporters.
I think the best way to do this is to have the approximate cost of running this board for 1 year, once we know this, we can find a way to make up the numbers.
I can understand the fustration of the admin and some of the supporters who feel that it is they who is paying for this board. This is a great community but i don't want this financial situation to put a hole in what we have already.
I personally feel that perhaps charging a one off yearly membership fee(compulsory) is probably best. The cost will be low and we shouldn't have any issues.
But it will depend on what your purpose is in the first place, for example, charging a premium is to allow contact with dealers, then its unfair to the dealers who will be losing alot of their business, plus the members who are here already have most of their contacts so it won't make a difference - since they can just leave.
But if it isn't this, what other avenues are you charging a premium membership for? repair and upgrade? the majority of the repair and upgrade are answered by US - god knows how many PMS and topics are answered by the same bunch of people - The Zigmeister, joe, randy, bazz, me, and other modders. Doesn't that mean someone should be paying us for our "service"?
I'm not trying to create a stir as you can see i'm happy doing what i'm doing, but if you are going to implement a membership system, it must be very well thought-through and fair.
Please keep us updated.

actually thats a genuine omega....
you gotta do your research before jumping the gun
-
take a photo of it so i can see how the case was fitted.
-
i'm going to have to agree that this isn't the best way to deal with this issue. You should just re-inburse him for any repair cost that he has to pay when he goes to a watchsmith.
If worse comes to worse, there are a few people on this board who does offer watch service. Ask around.

chieftang is correct -
definitely no metallic outline around the markers, i have the genuine black version, its just painted on.

If it's the SMP with the gen Calibre 1120 fitted, I'll track her down for you.......
you mean this one
fine.....you get me that babe...and this watch is on its way to you!
-
one night with that babe in your avatar and you can have my SMP
don't think it'll happen though...i'm sure you cage her up.....
damnnn what a babe......
-
ryaku,
you can paint them, i have paint hands white/black and red with my mods.
if you are going to paint them, make sure you secure the hands and tape out the lum parts so you can have a easier time.
-
not that much difference externally.
these watches are so solid and heavy....looks like it can bust a hole through the wall.
-
wonderful pictures!
I just got mine, but i only have a 7 and 1/4 inch wrist, but it seems to fit ok, so if you got around my wrist size or bigger, its a must buy!. Looks real nice on your wrist.
for everyone that is thinking about buying this, and worried about the shorter hands, i'm going to see if i can get a hold of genuine hands and see if i can make them fit, as most of you would have noticed by now, the hour, minute and seconds hand are short.
Will keep you guys posted.
Wear it well!

although these are closer to the older version, it isn't.
There are alot of poor quality parts to this watch i.e crown, bracelet, bezel, crystal. Good start for a project though
-
yeah, here are two links of the older models, one of them is mine, although mine has been upgraded with some genuine parts e.g omega 1120 movement, bezel insert, crown and crown tube, etc. It is still based from the old model.
enjoy the pictures...probably never will we again see such good quality...very sad...
-
although it resembles the older model, it isn't. The quality of the bracelet is far inferior and the crystal has no AR, causing distortion when seen from different angles. The bezel insert is cheap thin metal and the crown is horrible.
sorry for the nitpicking but it is not the same as the older models.
-
as Randy has already mentioned, yes its possible, 2892 will fit perfectly.
Movement spacer will be the only issue as the rep movement spacer is thicker, so when you try to use case clamps, you will run into problems.
hey randy...long time no see!
-
purchased it yesterday.
Waiting for it, will post a break down of it if i have time.
-
NEWS OF THE DAY!
GENUINE PO DIAL FITS REPLICA.
I just installed one for a member here.
-
in addition to the fact that the crown tube is internally threaded, while the rep is externally threaded. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
-
thanks bytor.
I can't find them on any dealers section...maybe not the most popular to rep i guess.
