All you can do is try! Between a 1665 and the 5513 there is little difference in the crystals. But yours is a chinese rep, some people have swapped in aftermarket crystals w/ success, others had no luck (me included). A pair of digital calipers would be a good start. Then you at least know what dimensions your original crystal is and you can go from there.

To heck with the date window, the markers are all wrong, 6 and 9 are too long and narrow, 12's pretty long also.

JMB's the pro on this stuff, but I drill lugholes at 1500-2000 rpm maybe, and it could be a little slower. Otherwise your set-up looks OK to me.

Isn't the GMT hand on the bottom of the stack in the pic of the suspect watch? tried to enlarge it, but not that good w/ photobucket yet! Still looks to be on the bottom to me!

Well last night I went to work, but things didn't go too well. The T-19 I have from Ofrei- the Sternkruz one- looks very promising- fit on the case perfectly, OD of the crystal is 30.4mm, so I put the nylon gasket on around the crystal and tried to press on the retention ring, but I boogered up the gasket- too tight of a fit, I guess. Next I tried to get the case tube out to trim the cg's- well that didn't go well either- the rat tail file got stuck in the tube and in trying to get it out, I broke the file and boogered up the tube to boot. No biggy, I've got replacement tubes so I went to tapping and countersinking and got the new tube in and trimmed the cg's. But now I've got to figure out where to go with the retention ring. I'm in the same boat as creation88! The crystal in the pic is the PT crystal, BTW.

With those serifs on the gen 'Pro Hunter' you'd have to say the other watch is a fake- it wouldn't make sense for Pro Hunter to change their logo, would it?

The WSO990 flat T-39 arrived today, but it looks like it's all wrong according to the $5 CN calipers- 29.2mm OD- damn that Mr. Slimeball- it arrives in an unmarked plastic envelope! Just picked up a crystal out of the parts bin! But the $30 5513 insert looks OK- mics out at 36.5/30.0 and with an Ofrei pearl it might work just fine (it's not for my PT 1665, but another project). Come t think of it, I may have a T-19 at home, have to see how it fits.

I'm not excited about the nylon gasket myself. Seems like I remember jmb machining a ring for justasgood for his 5513... A tighter ring would eliminate the need for the gasket and if he kept the same outside top diameter, the bezel and flat washer should still fit just fine. Looking at Ofrei's Rolex crystal page, there is some variation in the OD of the T-19's- from 3.30mm to 3.50 mm http://www.ofrei.com/page419.html And the T-39 generic crystal which I have is a PA-462-67A- close to the T-19 replacement- PA-462-67, only my OD was 30.28mm, according to my CN calipers! My PT crystal was 30.0mm. But I do know plastic crystals to vary considerably- I recall Ziggy complaining about how one was giving him fits one time. i've got a crystal ordered from WSO990- it should be here soon- those guys are only 10 miles or so from my office and home!

I agree, would love to see something on the movement. Looks like a nice military type sub knock-off!

ETZ DW overlay= Eurotimez DateWheel overlay- you need this because the eta DW is outside of the correct diameter for a Rolex DW. Also, the ETZ DW has the correct fonts and silver/gray background of the vintage Rolex watches- 1570 series movts. You could check wholesaleoutlet990 on the bay, he has had some decent 580 end pieces in the past- better than rep 580 ends which have a hole on the ends on the backside.

Thanks for the pics LHOOQ. The red sub dial looks ok to me- esp. the dial print and Submariner being the correct size. I prefer the whiter hour markers, but that's just a preference. I wonder if these have Rolex dial feet or eta dial feet? The DW case is new, but probably similar to a Yuki, is my guess. An old ETZ MBW 1680 case still won't take a Yuki dial, sorry.

Gorilla, What he probably meant to say in the second sentence is 1665, not 1680. Look at it like this: Option 1- MBW case- $165 Yuki dial-$135 ETA movt- preferably 2846-2 $125? ETA hands $15 gen crown- say $25, used pearl for insert $20 ETZ DW overlay $20 93150 rep bracelet,580 ends $100 Total $600+ Option 2- Yuki case- $400+ Dial and hands- $135 Rolex 1570 movt- $1000+ gen crown $25 gen insert- $100 gen bracelet- $600 Total $2250+ These are ballpark figures, but this should give you the pic. #1 is a nice rep, #2 is a full fledged franken. But remember, these are labors of love, not investments. Buy a gen if you're looking for an investment!

The GMT Master II might be OK, if it has a decent movement... But the green bezel insert is wrong and you can see the ss on the sides of the center links of the SELs. Doubt there's any hope for the Daytona- it's a time bomb!

I agree with ubi, and really the only gen dial which is readily available is the 1680 white. These are around for $300-700 in decent shape. I also wonder if you couldn't get an MBW dial w/ dial feet for the 1575 movement $65 + s&h from ETZ. I saw a GWSD dial last week w/ the Rolex feet.., but like ubi says it is a rep. how gen do you want to go? Depending on your budget, you could get a 93150 from ETZ, 580 ends from WO990, 24-703 crown from the bay. The older 24-702 crown and tube assembly can also be found these days- around $70 for the crown and $40 or so for the rep tube. Gen bracelets are $400-600 in decent shape. 9315's are more rare and more $. Hopefully you have a decent datewheel on your 1570 movt. Give me a PM if you want and we can discuss some other ideas which I have Indy.

With the BK WM9 Submariner, he won't have to send it for a relume! But it costs $600 for V3. Didn't V2 used to run $530 shipped in CONUS- still no need for a relume.

Special variants of the Swiss 7750 have moon phases and I have a Jean Marcel with the 7751 movement with the moonphase at the 6 o'clock subdial. I realize these aren't reps, but they are the 29.5 day moon phase watches. http://www.chronomaddox.com/valjoux_7750_engine.html Now I have seen a rep 7751 movement in a Breitling Datora, but the chinese referred to it as a 7750. No moon phase, however. And remember, don't touch the face of the dial with your fingers! Wear gloves for instance. Also, you could use a small file, but however you do it, it will be slow!

Email them, but my guess is between $400 and $500. And I don't know how a 2846-2 movement or other eta will fit in there. And of course, a 1575 movement will run $1000-1500 with a service included. But good gens run $4000-6000. Red subs which are correct run $7500-9000, more with papers.
