I take them off and stick them on my business cards when I pass them out to women.
"Oh, I don't know how that got on there? Too many to keep track of I guess."
Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Dude, you have an interesting line of friends!!!!
This half-Dutch guy (!) is a nice guy, into his watches like me, and now a few reps too.... but see him in action with women, he can talk them into doing anything, and it's not like he's the greatest looking or in any kind of decent shape! Just tag along with him and you get a chance ....!
The guy can definitely talk... must be that cheeky grin when he says he has his lambourghini outside, they know he's joking but play along with him.

It's difficult to remove the original sticker on a genuine watch and keeping it intact. I would think only re-sellers keep the sticker on the back, everyone else (unless they are lazy) probably remove it. There is a case for the gunk on the sticker causing pitting on the case back of a genuine or a rep.

Oh no... first a Closed Thread, now a Post Deleted.
It's like deja vu all over again.
At least posts aren't getting edited?

Also, it seems to be a trend with most dealers having the Asian versions. After The Zigmeister's review of the asian 6497 movement, as well as the newer 7750, lemania/venus copy, I would think they are doing well with them.
For example, I havent seen any submersibles (eg. Arktos) with an ETA movement. A ETA 7750 seems like an expensive waste as all the functions aren't used, just the date and seconds dial at 9 o'clock.
If only it was as easy as sticking a rotor on the manual wind ETA 6497 to make it an automatic! Then we'd have these showing up with ETA.
The biggest problem is finding a cheap ETA movement that has a sub-seconds dial as well as date, but I can't think of anything beyond the expensive 7750 or 7753.

By chance, do you also know what those 'chinese 6' and 'chinese a' do mean?
Where did you see that ? Only thing I can think of is that your screen is not maximised, or wrapping text, and it should be "chinese 6497 manual" or "chinese automatic" or is this something else?

I think it is actually easier to see a black dial with white letters/numbers. In fact, I noticed that not only are all of my dials dark, but I also use a dark background and lighter font when I type if I can change the preferences. I have a 113 dial I tried over and over again to like but just can't get into it at all...
I just noticed my membership no is 113, wish I could have gotten 112...
I prefer writing black on a white background, find it easier to see
With watches, I like having a mixture... but no white dial PAMs yet...

Hahaha, first funny thing? The non resizing band, thats hilarious, I had that too with my first couple of reps, haha.
Second, the guy that put a 'Van' in his name, hahaha. hilarious!
Yeah but it's Cruyff, he could have afforded a custom made fitting band!
And the guy with van... trust me he loves Dutch football.
He was stopped at Dutch customs on the way back to London with lots of videos in his bag. The customs guy said we know what you have... guys always go over to get porn, and he said "no, it's videos of Cruyff and Resenbrink, watch it and see for yourself". They took it away and came back in disgust, gave him back his videos telling him he was a weirdo
His friend who was with him, known as Scum (incessantly cheats on his wife - she has never suspected), had a bag full of porn but got away with it because of the football videos!

On the 2893 and dealers, they should all be the same. As I recall, the 2893's came out of the same factory. The very first batch of GMT's with ribbed dial had hand clearance issues. For whatever reason, the Power Reserves have remained more expensive than the GMT's. On the PR's, plain black dial goes with SS finish. Hobnail dial belongs with PVD case.
The 027 and 028 reps look better than the genuine watches
The genuine has Panerai Automatic across the centre of the dial, while the rep has Panerai at the top, and automatic under the power reserve, as well as the colours of the numbers of the reserve dial.
I'm going to have to find out how the PVD is on reps... from what I understand it's not true PVD.
The hobnail dial is nice

Looked at the genuines at
http://www.lacotedesmontres.com/Galerie-No_4092.htm
and the obvious difference seems to be the power reserve metre. The 028 is PVD, so I may go for the non-PVD and get real PVD done.

27a and 28a.
Joshua and Aspire, as far as I know.
Thanks, I was just looking at jos' versions. Any idea on how accurate they are? Initial impressions are the 028 has a different dial and probably the one I'd be more interested in.

He doesn't read PMs, leaves his box full. Email him.

Most people tend to like darker dials - the ralex black sub is one of the most popular. I've always had a liking for a lighter dial, but maybe that's because I am darker! The Omega Seamaster GMT in white dial (I have black dial too) is just lovely.
Good luck in finding answers to your question, I'd be interested too to see if the black dial version is more accurate.

Ajax is my club......I have seen thousands of him but I never really paid attention to watches though
It had interviews with him in training and with his wife and young kid (Jordi?) at the time. He had a Franck Muller shaped watch on a metal bracelet that hadn't been re-sized. It kept moving from down near his elbow all the way to the bottom of his hand!
Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......
I don't understand Dutch so I just enjoyed the football clips... strange flute music used during those clips though! I got the DVD for a friend who is an Ajax and Holland nut, and his favourite player of all time is Johan Cruyff. He tells everyone he is half dutch and puts a "Van" in his name too
I told him yesterday he needs to give up on going out with these Russian women that he says are cold, and find a Dutch girl, then maybe his son can play for Holland

2893 GMT's and Power Reserves have original movement aand all the functions as well.
Which PAM reps have working Power Reserves with the ETA 2893-2 movement? And which dealers have these? I'd be interested in seeing one like this.
-
thomasng - the genuine PAM029 and PAM063 also use the ETA 2893-2 movement. You get the same movement in the rep as the genuine watch, but obviously costs more than the modified ETA 2836-2 versions. But you being someone who can afford a genuine Freak watch, that should be no problem.
-
Helium valve placements on those genuine watches are definitely not in line with the 10 o'clock marker...
-
I've got a Johan Cruyff video in Dutch (Number 14) and he wears a watch that has the Franck Muller shape... so you gotta get one and represent the Dutch master
The video looks like it was filmed during his playing days for Ajax in the 1970s just so you know

Alright, that makes my current wishlist/order list:
Yachtmaster S/S Rolesium,
Standard black subbie,
MBW luckyyy's Sub Vintage
GMT II Pepsi
Breitling Seawolf Avenger
Breitling Chronomat
Breitling Crosswind
Omega SMP
Omega Sppedmaster
AP Royal Oak
Vacheron Overseas
--snip--
I think I will go with PT on these, EU based, much easier for me to ship to my dutch courier and through to south america, will not go through customs and is out of the states reach (direct south america is soooooooo risky...DHL/TNT/regular EMS EMPLOYEES steal....no customs problems, but stolen by emplyees!!!!!!)
--snip--
Anyway, please let me know what you guys feel in terms of:
- The models Ive chosen (disregarding "dude you're 18, they will look so fake!"...I dont care, really!!)
- The Dealer Precious Time, an upstanding fellow (great for the EU!)
- Anything else related!
Thanks again for all your help! I want to start my collection and have already enquired about a 10 watch box from acetimer...I chose the 10, not the 20, as 20 means Ill have to get 20...hahaha, I will be not just yet.
So I got the 10 watch box....5 is just wimpy and so is 6 (sorry to those that have one)....
All the best,
Floris
I got the Yachtmaster S/S Rolesium frpm Precious Time and I like it
Right now on a PAM addiction.
I doubt PT will have luckyyy's sub though! you'll probably have to contact him yourself, or order from luckyyy and get it sent to your dutch courier.
Of the Breitlings I would only get the Seawolf Avenger (on the way from silix ) but there may be issues with the screws on the bezel falling out.
Have fun with them, just give it time to break in, wear one for one week, then another for the next. Too many quick changes will bring up questions at your school

TTK - I went to watch V for Vendetta on Thursday but they had pulled it
I'll have to get the dodgy DVD off a friend.

The best solution .....is buy from me....I'm removng the letters and re-attaching with aircraft quality epoxy.......in either Swiss or Asian......!
Great news, I may have to go for that if I ever decide on getting one
-
JLC is a beauty too, as well as the MBW's (duh!). Beautiful choice and the A/P too!! I keep adding on, haha!
The FM is not yet for me. Too much a fan of rounded watches and dont wanna get addicted to more, haha!
I just dont feel the need for gens, I mean...depending on how long this will last....ETA's last for ages.
I've got a Johan Cruyff video in Dutch (Number 14) and he wears a watch that has the Franck Muller shape... so you gotta get one and represent the Dutch master

I think EL has the 2nd version, haven't seen any reviews of it yet. There is also a version with Asian 7750 I think.
