  1. Do the oracle adapters fit without any modification ? Or does the strap need to be reemed out (as some have done with the APBands ones)... I'd prefer not having to do that.
  2. I'd love to see this when you have it, is it all fully ceramic? (that's a rhetorical question for now, until you get the watch ) You're a lucky (or rich) guy
  3. I have an odd habit of taking off my watch when I get home, but have to have one if I leave the house. It's great waking up in the morning to check out the time rather than scrambling over to the computer or mobile phone. Anyway, even if some other place has a wall clock, I use my own wristwatch
  4. The one in the link I posted above is billed as a silent sweep clock, and indeed it is
  5. I know what you mean... but the sweeping hand is hypnotic on a wall clock... and no ticking Is it possible to take this movement out and put it on one of River's PAM wall clocks and make a new franken? Now that would be nice I love that one and may get it someday... but there's no seconds hand so no sweeping !
  6. I got mine earlier today (Wednesday) and it says that you should change the battery once a year, even if it hasn't run out. Made in China of course...
  7. I first came across this a few years ago at work in our Supplies Department. It's a quartz wall clock with a silent sweeping seconds hand. Apparently they bought them in because doctor's surgeries required non-ticking clocks for some reason (anyone care to enlighten me why?). Anyway, I would always stare at it and finally decided I should put one in this room so I looked it up. I found it's an Acctim Orion wall clock and pretty cheap at around GBP
  8. Thanks... I probably won't be able to afford to go on holiday for a few years now, so this was just a question and may be useful for someone else in the future
  9. This is taken from the thread about Eurotimez's MBK hornback straps. My question is, if you have one of these straps on your watch (or clothing or whatever), are there problems if you fly from the EU to US or vice versa? Will you get stopped and your strap confiscated unless you have a license?
  10. You should have taken it as part payment for your considerable fees Or can you buy one and put it on expenses ?
  11. I believe I was told it's PVD but my POS work computer is taking an age to access my mail... waited 10-15 mins already for this f'n POS. Sorry for the language, I am frustrated with it. Finally come up.... confirmation that it is a PVD bezel. Perhaps there are two versions?
  12. I'll throw in the IWC AMG Ingenieur and the chrono version; Breitling Chrono Avenger (old out of production version, though there is a less accurate version still available); PAM194 in titanium if you can ever get anything out of watchonpo (though there are stories his representative has scammed people here in the past); DeWitt Academia Chronograph (in titanium, rubber and rose gold), and of course the Baume et Mercier Riviera XXL Special Edition
  13. No, it doesn't, so go buy an Oracle straps strap for the adapters or get Eurotimez's MBW hornback with adapters.
  14. Damn.. I hope that won't affect me putting the dial onto an ETA movement
  15. Luckily my dial looks unmarked For rep dials, you need silix's latest one... that's the best one I think.
  16. I really like this one.... and if the case construction is like the genuine, could we have changeable rubber or steel bezels? Should be easy to make this one as they already released it with steel bezel.
  17. Where'd you get these parts? I have a genuine dial I'll put in my Silix version, with genuine ETA movement. Will need relumed hands unless I can find genuine hands somewhere.
  18. Damn! And I love Denmark too ! Well the women I loved Copenhagen a couple years ago.
  19. I'm just poor with an addiction to buying things until I'm destitute and living on the streets
  20. Good question... I guess perhaps you can tell if it feels metallic or ceramic... perhaps tap on it and see if it sounds or feels the same? I really don't know.
  21. I used to think the same... I thought I'd move to America pre-911, after that and all the homeland security, patriot act etc BS, I'd be worried as a foreign national living there... If I were to move now, it'd be to Canada or Australia, and if it's for a woman, then Scandinavia may come into the picture too For some reason I'd always had much better luck with American women than anywhere else... Anyway... for better or for worse, sometimes there's nothing quite like home sweet home. Good luck in moving there, it's a big step!
