I've never had a problem with them. Had a different FM sent instead of the specified FM Vegas... sent it back at their cost, I told them to hold onto it, and when I bought something else (many months later) they paid the shipping for the Vegas plus that watch as well as the cashed in discount. They may be slow, but they always delivered for me

I couldn't give you a definitive answer, but if AP are throwing away movements at a service, that probably says something. I talked to the guy at the Omega boutique who was servicing my watch and he said it's true, he'd heard the same thing. The idea of a genuine movement in the AP sounds good... but the problem will be the cost of servicing in future... will The Zigmeister be servicing everybody's? It's a worry.

It can be serviced, it's just complicated... AP find it more cost-effective to put in a brand new movement rather than strip it down and clean it. Apparently there are higher than normal failure rates with these.

I know this I was just saying... I'm guessing Nokia didnt see much use for the 120fps (as every other phone company didnt) but it does allow you to make nice slow motion videos

another alternative is to give a friend in the UK a cheap ryanair-type ticket to bring it over for you, and .. i don't know... let them stay a weekend or something... will be about the same cost, you'll get to see your friend, and get your watch safely.... I think there are cheap flights from the UK to Norway. barring that, go the fully insured route. Make sure you have receipts etc and you may want to give a copy to the post office so they know exactly what's in there and how much you'll claim back if it goes missing - which should hopefully mean they are very careful as they as a company don't want to lose money over it. ah and that is the other alternative, if you have the time

What he said... The DD module is designed to fit on different movements so as to have a larger audience in terms of sales. ETA is pretty much a standard movement that has been readily available (at least in the past). The DD module was supposed to be a cheaper way to add chrono functionality. The ETA 7750 integrated everything together and worked out cheaper in the end I think. Also, it is design choice whether to have sec at 9 or 12... if you want sec at 12, you choose the DD module.

I agree, and like the Corgster, I'll stay away for now.... only long-term use will reveal the reliability of this. And it'll give enough time for MBK/MBW to get their version together

DD module is just that - a module designed to fit onto other movements (that allow modules) and provide a chrono function. ETA 2892 is well known for taking on modules, eg. the SOPROD power reserve module in the PAM027 and 028.

When AP "service" the movement, they just throw it away and put in a brand new movement... it's a lot quicker and more effective. The JLC with DD module is supposed to be pretty fragile (not quite the word I'm looking for, but it'll do) and complex. The MBW rep used an ETA 2892 instead of the JLC but did use the DD module. This gives close enough results (especially for a rep), and will allow use of the genuine dial. The pushers will also be on a different level to the crown, therefore a standard case has to be resealed and then re-drilled with the pushers in the right place.

I saw the date stamps... someone revived the thread yesterday and it appeared on the newest updated threads and as you know I've had an interest in how this iphone develops to see if it's for me. I think what attracted me most to it was the large screen size for viewing webpages. Music, VOIP, msn/yahoo messenger, skype, GPS, etc I can do on my n82 which is pretty much a repackaged n95 8gb edition in candybar form, but with a xenon flash (something i wanted) and memory card slot. The new n96 looks good too, but i'm not sure about slider phones... knowing me i'd play around with it way too much and end up breaking it. anyway, after looking at the iphone (and LG Viewty), and hearing what my brother has to say about his blackberry, I'm waiting on the new one. I don't currently use email on the go, i'll check it up on a computer, but like everything, it would be nice. A long time ago, a mobile phone was never a necessity.... I can't imagine many people wanting to be parted from theirs nowadays. It looks like iphone supply is backed up until August which is great for me, means I don't become and early adopter and the Blackberry should be out by then. I know it's a bit of a luxury to have 2 phones... n82 will be the main one... if i get the iphone, it will be my internet/mailing phone... but hey, it's free
