  1. polished on the carbon fiber dial rep (like gen), brushed on the smooth dial (hublot used on an asian market released model).
  2. The diamonds look good, very clean (not dingy like some reps). They are deep set, even on the gen, so they dont blind you across the room, but are very subtle for diamonds at least. Plus the gen is reasonably priced so its not an outragoius stretch to wear this watch often... But I usually end up wearing the Hublot Big Bang.
  3. They are in this deal together, you think josh and andrew aren't involved in all this... WAKE UP.
  4. I have a HBB already and it has not made me loose interest in other reps, other than I am moving away from the less-then great reps. I have since ordered a steelfish and am waiting for it to arrive. My short list of keeper reps for the near future: HBB EVO Steelfish (maybe?) Rolex Sub (its serviced and not worth getting rid of at this point but it doesn't get much wear) Rolex Prez (need an occasional bling watch to round out the collect) The rest are gathering dust. I am looking forward to adding another HBB when the prices change, the new IWC Coustau, and maybe a ferrari. These super reps have actually gotten me more interested in reps, not less. Its actually moved me more away from luxury end gens.
  5. Taste is subjective, and apparently your opinion is that some of us have none. I love the roo chrono, but the subdials kills it for me (really wish it didnt). Farrari looks interesting but have yet to wear any of my pams more then a dozen times. As for quality of the rep (not the gen), there are not many better then the HBB. Price drop, I have no idea but a couple of the non-"cartel" dealers I've spoke with said even the limited access to the first two versions are coming at a high price and they really dont want to be involved in the model unless their customer really wants it. For the ceramic, my understanding is the "cartel" bought a large run (~200) with the agreement that no one else would get it for x amount of time, but I'm not sure how long that is.
  6. Need another option in the poll, fixed it myself. I had 1 screw that would not come out, and 2 screws that would not grab, plus the stock clasp makes this a very uncomfortable watch. Easy enough fix but was still a pain in the ass. $400 is reasonable for the quality of this rep. I was really waiting for the ceramic but $600 without fixing the dial and clasp is too much. I still wear my HBB more then anything else (about 4-5 days a week).
  7. No material engraving is correct for the SS/SS bezel model. There may have also been some with ceramic bezel without the engravings. The big bang is an evolving model, there have been many production changes since they first came out. Much of it has to do with switching suppliers from many components as most of the watch is not made from in-house parts, but instead basically assembled by hublot.
  8. Actually the short red on the second hand is correct, the supplier originally screwed up but hublot didn't feel like paying to have the run redone... So for the first models all came with that hand. But its not correct with the black datewheel, since all the first big bangs came with white and they later switched to black.
  9. I know mine is the bling model most don't like, but I think it looks awesome on the black calf:
  10. This should be removed from ebay, they are selling replica's... I bet it is paul MISSIONS Omega, Speedmaster Missions Collection, No. 33 of 40 sets. Made in 1998. Extremely rare and impressive set of 23 Omega Speedmaster wristwatches in a large fitted case, comprising 22 Omega Speedmaster Professionals, Ref. ST 345.0022, with missions emblem on the subsidiary seconds dial, and one Broad Arrow replica, Ref. ST 345.0222, a display caliber 1861, and a loupe. Accompanied by the guarantee, instructions, original certificate and a book detailing the missions represented in the set. This set is sold with a Certificate of Authenticity and a 2-year Omega guarantee.
  11. Wow, only $10 cheaper then ruby and more expensive then the first group buy 2 months ago.
  12. For $350 or less per ceramic, I would be in for 2 (from any dealer).
  13. Rubber not plastic, and gen rubber band fits just fine already switched the tire track rubber for the smooth hublot rubber.
  14. I'm interested in ceramic. King was the supplier of the last hbb group buy, might be worth a contact as the price for the last was pretty good.
  15. Man I hadn't though about my pam 063 with 2893 in a while... Bought it for $400 less then a year ago.
  16. I ordered a blue dial yesterday, I have the black dial with silver subdial BCE. I've been missing a blue dial watch since I sold my gen seamaster. I think the new style bracelet, or the rubber and the blue face really give it a sporty look. White and Black give it a classier look (Which is what I have the bce for).
  17. That wouldn't be bad either, but would still prefer the all black, and if not the black magic.
  18. Kevlar comes in all differant colors, it is basically plastic. From the hublot website: A Kevlar insert gives the impression that the rubber strap goes through the watch itself.
  19. My problem with the "super reps" is not that I can buy something more enjoyable for the cost. I have a problem with paying that much for an asian movement that replacement parts will not be available for in 3 years and the fact that there are still serious QC issues even though the watch "looks" superb.
  20. Its been on many maps for a long time, but what are they going to do.
  21. Plastic (i.e. "kevlar")
  22. I would love to have a gen black MOP dial.
  23. I'd prefer an all black.
  24. Hublot lets you buy the bezel seperate. I saw a post on tz where a guy was quoted 900 for the ceramic bezel because he wanted the plain dial with ceramic.
  25. Only fool is the one that purchases it. Ceramic is expensive, but a full ceramic j12 costs less.
