  1. Glad it's limited... to bad it wasn't limited to 0 pieces.
  2. I don't think there is a real shortage on the AP@12. Sure people have bought them, but I believe all dealers have them available for immediate shipment... and the Graham... and the Porsche...
  3. I'll take one of the mags if one of your unpaid buyers falls through, was canoeing during this thread was running and missed out. Just let me know.
  4. It's strange that happens alot with King, price is lower and matches another dealer... then Josh or Andrew come out with a higher price and king bumps up to right along side. I think what should really be gleamed from this is that these "super reps" can be sold for under $300 and the dealers are still making a profit. Price fixing and colusion worked great for gas stations in the mid-80s/90s until stations decided they wanted a larger market share and tried pushing others out and then it was every man for themselves and markups returned to their pre- pricefixed point (obviously gas prices fluctuate daily, but the markup at the pump is typically pretty consistant).
  5. It was serviced eta, but yeah its still pretty expensive.
  6. Why don't you first contact Riffram and see if he has your watch, since you have his. edit: actually, the thread on repgeek has a post that says Riffram did in fact receive the wrong watch yesterday. So even if you don't want to deal with gio, why dont you contact riffram and get it straightened out.
  7. Cape cod on a dremel will take out the fine scratches that prevent you from having a flawless mirrored surface, but if the surface is rough to begin with, try some jewelers rouge.
  8. I recall seeing his sales ad for this SSD and he stated the hand was missing when I seen it. Maybe its a case where he sent you the wrong watch, and sent yours to the other person he mailed a watch to that day (it happens). Have you contacted him since you got the watch? As a side PM me want you paid for the 50th sub, and i'll send you that much for the SSD, I have plenty of second hands for it.
  9. Rolex is trying to design watches they feel will sell well in new markets, they have very little concern about the US market... US sales will continue on pace regardles if they redesign all their watches to look like swatches. There is much stiffer competition for brand dominance in euro/asian markets for watch sales. My great uncle owned a junk yard (now dead), and guess what he wore an all gold rolex president... but if you would have told him he should have bought an ap roo, he would have said something along the lines of automobile poo go, who would want a queer watch like that. He would have no problem buying a blinged out rolex or the leapard print daytona for his for former "trailer trash" wife (and im sure she would have loved it, it would go well with their collection of velvet lion prints).
  10. I find this rumor HIGHLY suspect... kyocera could not meet hublot's demand at the time the rep came out and was on the verge of losing their very lucrative contract with Hublot.
  11. They do, or did last year... But its VERY expensive and and extremely long wait.
  12. Not really insanity, this is the same bracelet that as the SS timewalker just pvd'ed center... there is no HBB bracelet out, and they didn't buy a hbb with bracelet. I would guess they would need to buy a hbb with band before they replicated any (all ss, ss pvd which should really be ss/ceramic). Plus even Hublot sells way more on rubber then it does on bracelet. HBB ss/ceramic on bracelet is my grail watch.
  13. Did it start right away after receiving, or did it take some time to start happening?
  14. And besides this board and timezone there are about 10,000 out of 6 billion people that know that.
  15. I don't know if I would agree with that 100%, its just the excellent reps weren't talked about as super and didn't have a $300 premium over the regular reps even 2 years ago. IWC GST, Navitimers, could be had for under $250 and were great reps that suffer the same qc issues we see today (date alignment, font issues, ect). There's alot a hype over some of the models and while some are better, I don't think they justify an automatic $300 premium... seconds @12 roo is close to $600 with shipping, 2 years ago that would buy you an ETA Chrono and while I understand the ETA movements are getting scarce, the asian movement should not make up the cost differance. You can't tell me that the movement @12 is $250 more then the current ap rep you can pick up from the dealers for $300.
  16. rumor was a swiss ap roo @ 12 was already done, for the lucky not quite so handful (5?) that spent the 2500 euro. Made with Dubois-Depraz module and gen dial.
  17. And dont be shocked when you go weeks or months without anyone even noticing, unless you live in a few major metropolitan areas most people will not even know your watch is highend and the few that do even less will care... I have never had anyone ask if a watch was real unless it was a rolex and even then I can count on one hand the number of times and it was all very close friends. Never had anyone out right try to call me out.
  18. There is a thread on repgeek, looks very similar to the setup of the seconds @3 bentley
  19. I'm pretty content with the MBW @6... but I would pick up an MBW @12 once we're certian the movement is solid. I personally know exactly 0 other people that know anything about ap roo's (that wouldn't already know about reps)and the finish is so excellent I would guess 1 of 1000 people would think its a chinese knock-off regardless of subdials.
  20. I'd really love to hear feedback from someone that has had both the MBW @6 and the rep @12, and hear their thoughts. The MBW @6 I just got has to be the best finished rep I've ever had (and I've had HBB, BCE, SFSO Eta, and on and on). Might not be 100% true to gen but the quality of the finishing is amazing on par with any gen I've owned which is something lacking in most the reps I've bought even the supers.
  21. Let hope not, but I had the same thing happen with my last 2836 watch so I'll hold out getting too concerned until it becomes more prevelant.
  22. I found being knowledgable on watches is a kiss of death with some watch sales people at T and other large shops... If they think you know more then they do they dont want to help you cause they know you know that their "special" price is not that special, or that the movement isn't made from pixie dust by special rolex owned unicorns. They love the guys that walk in and want the flavor of the day, less hassle and faster sale. As far as what I wear, I wear what im wearing. I rarely make special trips to the AD, its more like I pass an AD and want to stop in. Looks much stranger to walk in with a glaring white tan line where a watch should be then walking in with a rep.
  23. Hey Dani (or any one else), how does the fit/finish of the seconds @12 compare to the MBW @9?
  24. Only problem with members is you often can't tell if they have good trade feedback by the number of posts they have. I've bought probably 25 watches from members, and at least 10 had some issue or another that weren't disclosed or they were not as described... Most were not major and I dealt with it and very few of my transactions were with new or unknown members (ironically of those I think I only had 1 issue).
