  1. Andy, do you mean the non amg ingy? That's a good idea but I love the amg dial! IF the regular SS ingy is good out of the box I will highly consider it. Please let me know if the datewheel etc. looks correct. Thanks
  2. I'm a one rep, one gen kind of guy Its so hard to just choose one everyday rep! I'm torn between so many models (pam dsn 104, pam 212, iwc 3717,amg ingy, ap roo, hublot tuiga, etc.) and I just want to settle on one out of the box rep that will not get called out. I want to have something stealthy and not wide known so I think the 3717 is a perfect choice, but that ingy is stunning!! It looks like a mix of a ap roo (with that bezel and case shape) and an ordinary sub with the stealthy understated black dial. And those hour markers are stunning!
  3. I really like both of these watches! The 3717 is so classic and stealthy, but the Ingy AMG (non chrono ingy) is the perfect mix of sport and beauty. I know the 3717 has some flaws on the latest version, but is it that bad to leave unmodded? Also, I see the AMG ingy non chrono does in fact have double AR (as per puretimes website) so it looks pretty gen-like out of the box.... but the date wheel is quite a flaw. Is a correct datewheel easy to find... or should it just be left as is and maybe do a lume job? Any input is appreciated as I want to pick this one up at once. I am closing the deal on a pam 111 as well..... damn this place really makes you spend some money!!!
  4. I think the 220 (gen) comes with stainless bracelet only... but thats a different story. Personally I prefer brushed....
  5. Let me tell you, its not easy! I am in the same boat as you with the same budget. I would also suggest a rad 183 if your into that. I would really suggest to save up a few more bucks and go for a DSN (example a 104 or 164 is $280 shipped) There are some negative reviews on DSN's goods, but there are tons of positive reviews as well. I've put my wish list right in this thread given the same budget.
  6. Lots of threads on this... but if you want a quick answer I say in the 200 range a 111 is a good choice like you said. I also like the 253/212
  7. Where did you get the datewheel mod from? I got a pam 48 and the date seems a bit thin. Otherwise its pretty awesome.
  8. As far as I know, there is no difference other than the AR. Make sure it has a 28800 movement though! And then of course send it to get AR'ed
  9. Thanks for all the responses. I do hope to get all three, I just need to do one at a time. After looking for an AP ROO the one I want (seconds at 12 rubberclad with steel bracelet) can't really be found for less than $500. Maybe I can leave this as my "grail" and I will save up for it The HBB lite, and Pam 253 (or 212 I will compare photos soon) are easy to find in the $250 range.
  10. Well, I need a new watch to wear on a daily basis after selling my SSD. I like all three of these but can only afford one piece right now. I want to have an accurate rep (I dont expect anything to be 100% but I want something that will not get called out of course) I have a thing for chronos, and thankfully these all have the 7750 which is known to be pretty reliable. Lets hear what you recommend Thanks in advance to all!
  11. 22mm I contacted Hont but he says he only has white dials in stock? Also I am not sure if he has the "bold" date font
  12. I am a crazy mind changer! I am pressing the button on the 48... They are so rare so I gotta try it out. If its no good I will pick up a 253 afterwards. On the 48... Is the valjoux 7750 the good movement? It has a beautiful date font... Can't wait to show you guys
  13. I think that looks awesome! Can you match the lume to the dial?
  14. Would you say its comparable to the deepsea? I have that at home and it fits pretty well. I am down to the wire... Must make a choice by tonight (so they can ship same day)
  15. Update: Found a 253 v3 at a great price, BUT I also found a great source for a 48. I know the 48 is rare and this one looks real good. It is killing me to make a decision now! If anyone needs the source to finding a 48 feel free to email me. I don't want to put it publicly as they are not a dealer on this forum. I have done business with them before I came to rwg and I was very impressed with their quality. I am leaning towards the 253 only because I think the 48 can be my backup if I really can't handle the size. I just wish the local AD had one to try on for size!
  16. V3 for sure on this one (found a good price from trevor on rg) I have a DSSD as well, is the 253 size much bigger than a DSSD? I think it fits nicely As for extra straps I would defintely do a brown strap but I can't pull off the thick ones.. Ill get one to fit the deploy (or thumbnail I have at home from my 111)
  17. Thanks for the wise words. As I am finding the 48 hard to find, I will probably go ahead with the 253. Hont can get me a 48 but I am waiting on his photos and pricing. Worse case scanerio, it doesnt fit I can sell it to somebody and make a new search for a 40mm pam. That being said... I gotta sell my SSD!
  18. Awesome review! I love the 253 and this just made my new watch choice that much harder!
  19. First things first, I have a 6" wrist (dont make fun ) I have owned a gen 48, and a rep 111 in the past. The 48 was great and I only sold it because I bought low and sold it for an awesome profit. A few months down the road I bought a 111 which I wore from time to time. It wasnt too big but it did look like I was wearing something large and people would question me and say wow that watch is huge. Anyways.. I can source a rep 48 so thats not a problem, but now my eyes have caught the 253 which I totally love the look! It seems really perfect because there arent many flaws on the newest version. It looks as if it might be about the same size of the 111, but then again it can be bigger due to the chronos and thickness of the crystal. Does anybody have any advice for me so I can finally plunk down my cash and make a decision! If the 253 is a rather large watch, I will just skip it because I know it will sit in my drawer like my 111 did. Heres a little eye candy 253 48
  20. I think 30th and bway... Something near that area. Really cool guy, and even if you order online he is very friendly and ships same day.
  21. Many times. Well worth the visit if you are in nyc. Stan is a great guy... had good quality for a good price. His straps are not ultra high end, but they do the job. I just wouldnt bring the rep to him... just ask to look at some stuff
  22. Yukiwatch.com sells a dial+hands and then you can "age" them if you want to
