  1. Hi guys I'm thinking about a little project as a gift for a close group of friends of mine. I'd like to source some sterile/homage style dialed watches (maybe a base Pam from Getat Watch or an MOD Diver etc) and having the dials custom embossed /printed for with some customized text or design for my friends. Does anyone know of a dealer/site or modder who could provide this service? I'd only be looking at a small run of 4-6 pieces and want this to be fairly cost effective per piece (under $150-200 all in). It's just for novelty. Advice much appreciated! J
  2. Yup, Matt-sourced case/band/bezel/overlays. Swiss movement and gen dial/crystal/crown. My favourite thing about my Matt builds is how crisp/smooth the movements are. Breaks my heart but have recently been seriously considering selling a bunch of frankens to fund a vintage gen, and this will be probably be one of them. This black dial was a b*tch to source!
  3. Hi RWG Just wanted to share the latest arrival, another MMM project - my second piece from Matt. Gen dial/hands/crystal/crown/Swiss heart. Quite pleased with this one. Now I just have to find the wrist time for it, lol. Hope you enjoy the pics!
  4. Lol the franken pieces I'm referring to are generally capped around the $1k mark. I've seen your level of reps and projects around the forums over the years mate, and I am light years from it and hope it stays that way lol. Luckily I haven't been bitten by the vintage Rollie bug as yet either. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  5. Unfortunately everything you said is true....*sigh* LOL Ive been at the high quality rep/franken level for a year or two now and it's just bloody painful.
  6. Aww man... Why'd you have to go posting photos like these Nik? Now I'm really regretting not just pulling the trigger and going in on the project. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  7. Ditto Where'd you source the Monaco from, and any mods? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  8. Another thumbs up for Matt. I sought him out for a franken DJ after seeing iRolex and other post here (or maybe it was RG). Stand up guy, no BS and good communication.
  9. Good man Dave. Bravo. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  10. Nice. Do you notice a big difference in the look/shine between the gen and rep bezel? I've ways felt the gen "teeth" have a clearer shine or sparkle. How lame are we... Discussing the marginal differences in shine for fake watches lol Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  11. Nice piece I Rolex. Is the bezel assembly gen too? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  12. Franken gen dial Dj Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  13. Matt is awesome. Here is a franken he built for me earlier this year Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  14. Gorgeous piece JMB! Please let me know if you'd consider parting with it down the track. It's the perfect franken piece for my gf!
  15. I agree with the out of the "box" suggestions. Women love surprises and a little bit of creativity. Forget the official paraphernalia and go down a different route. - engage her with a little treasure hunt which uncovers the Rolex at the end of the rainbow - start with flowers and a clue note sent to your home or her office during work hours? - maybe you can involve your newborn in this surprise too? All the best with the incoming bundle Of joy!
  16. The watch is nice enough but simply can't get over the "Squale" name lol. It's terrible.
  17. +3 on that date font. Almost makes the watch look like a fake lol. Gorgeous piece otherwise though! Cannot. Wait. Till. Superrep. Navi. Is. Released. lol
  18. New arrival - Gen Steinhart Milsub on sand Zulu. Absolutely love it.
  19. Thanks watcher. How much would a gen bezel and retainer run for? I assume bk could easily do this sort of work?
  20. Thanks for the response sneed. I tries searching for a bit but couldn't find the relevant info. Next thing is sourcing one, and finding out at what cost. I have no doubt a new gen bezel would go for something close to the price of a bk sub itself? Lol Not sure if anyone else gets what I mean by it, but the build quality and crispness of the material on the edges of the gen bezel simply make the overall watch for me. Have been looking at plenty of bk photo reviews online and everything else looks pretty spot on bar this bloody bezel "sparkle". Call me mad.
  21. Hi guys Will a BK TW Sub take a gen bezel movement? Have been admiring a mate's gen sub and find the finish and "sparkle" of the gen bezel piece very attractive. It really adds to the overall presence of the watch. cheers Jon
  22. Nice first rep. The pumpkin 45mm was one of my first and didn't leave my wrist for weeks. I then realized the sizing didn't quite match my 6.75" wrists and have since moved onto a black dial 42mm. Enjoy your purchase and post pics!
