  1. What a great thread! So many awesome choices. Dealers & factories -- are you listening?? I'll add my votes for the Royal Oak and Royal Oak chronos that have already been nominated a few times, and the JLC Master Compressor Memovox:
  2. Congratulations on the new site, and best wishes for the future.
  3. Taikonaut has one: Black croc w/ white stiching I have the military gray version and am wearing it today. My most comfortable strap. Edit: Oops, just realized you are probably looking for a slightly wider version. Mine is on a 192. Good luck.
  4. Welcome to yet another Chicagoan. We have a fairly solid Chicago contingent on RWG. (I am a former Oak Parker).
  5. I use a Smart Phone instead. Awesome to monitor work e-mail from my phone. I can even search for contacts from the corporate address book and call up their free/meeting schedules in order to schedule meetings right from the phone.
  6. Maciek, I am certain that the rest of your girlfriend is a beautiful as the parts you share with us. But I think she should give serious consideration to getting work as a hand model. Here in the US, hand (or foot) models can make fantastic money, without ever even showing the rest of their bodies.
  7. Incredible watch. My brother is getting married in August at a manor house outside London. I am already debating what watch to wear to the wedding. This might just be the watch.
  8. Perhaps if I had a pet alligator or pet shark. Otherwise.....
  9. With 77 responses to this thread, and 1193 watches, that makes an average of 15.5 watches per respondent. Not too shabby. But I suddenly feel below average.
  10. 10 for me, not counting the 2 reps my brother gave me a few years ago or the one that died, so.... 1183
  11. No, not the classic rock group, but a live Web cam pointed at an eagles nest that has two eggs. The eggs are due to hatch on 4/26 and 4/30. It's very cool. The live cam is active during daylight hours on Hornby Island, British Columbia. Click here Eagle Eye Cam and then on the Red link that says Live Streaming Video from Hornby Island.
  12. Overseas in white today (sorry, no pic). Probably PO or Speedmaster for Saturday daylight hours, and perhaps a YM after dark. Then there is Sunday to figure out....
  13. I participated in the planning and was one of the fortunate few to actually receive one. The Collaboration I is actually a very attractive and reliable watch. It has earned a consistent spot in my rotation of favorites -- alongside my 192, Overseas, PO, and IWC (to give you an idea of some of its competitors for time on my wrist). Would I prefer that it have an Omega logo instead of the RWG Collaboration I logo? For a while when it became apparent that other purchasers were being stiffed and the other board was melting down, the answer was yes. But now that the new board is seeking to maintain the positive qualities and legacy of the old board, and to provide some compensation to those who were jilted, I am once again able to simply enjoy this timepiece for what it is -- a good, cleanly designed watch.
  14. Just got my Passat back from 2.5 days in the shop. It was only supposed to take half a day, so you know what that means: They found quite a few more things to fix. Sure, I OKed the repairs, and based on the shop involved and the age of the car (approaching 100K miles) I'm quite confident the repairs were legit. But it makes me think a better title for this thread... and some of the serious sheet metal and horsepower people here "control" .... might be what car owns you? Our two cars have the best feature possible: we own them outright. I paid cash for the Passat when it was only a few years old, and I prefer to pay cash the next time I replace a vehicle. But I'd much rather keep my money and have more discretionary funds available for things such as watches and travel.
  15. I found this fashion/gossip nugget on msnbc.com: God wants Blige to wear bling Mary J. Blige says she has found religion, but she makes no apologies for her earthly materialism. In fact, she says God has willed her to wear bling. “My God is a God who wants me to have things,” the singer tells May’s Blender magazine. “He wants me to bling. He wants me to be the hottest thing on the block. I don’t know what kind of God the rest of y’all are serving, but the God I serve says, ‘Mary, you need to be the hottest thing this year, and I’m gonna make sure you’re doing that’.” Blige also is not modest when it comes to her place in history. “I do consider myself part of black history,” she told the mag. “Since 1991, I’m still doing this and I’m successful. And I haven’t hurt anyone in the process.” jkerouac comment: Funny, but my God is telling me I need another rep, whereas my wife is telling me I have too many. Who should I listen to? Or should we be telling our significant others that "God really wants me to have that Breitling/Royal Oak/Pannie/etc." ??
  16. A British company is developing computer chips that store music in women's breast implants. This is a major breakthrough. Women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.
  17. For me it's a VW Passat.....the poor man's Audi.
  18. I was born in Germany. My mother was Swiss, my father is German. We moved to the US when I was 5, and I've lived in Massachusetts, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and finally in Washington state. Seattle is the best yet.
  19. Today (Saturday) I'm marinating a 5 lb. boneless leg of lamb in red wine, olive oil, rosemary, garlic, and pepper. Tomorrow I'll roast that gorgeous lamb for holiday dinner with my wife, father, sister and her husband, and our two young nieces. I'm taking Monday off and looking forward to enjoying some leftovers.
  20. My SAT and GrE days are well behind me, but if I recall correctly you can take these tests more than once, and submit the results of your choosing with your college/grad school applications. The practice tests are excellent, both to get a preliminary notion of where you stand, and to start to put yourself in the mindset needed to complete the tests successfully. Good luck.
  21. Several of the clerks at my local post office are Chinese immigrants, so on occasion they've given me a big smile and said "Oh, present from friend in China?" I just smile and nod.
  22. My wife uses each new watch that I buy as an excuse to buy more shoes and clothes... or to plan new home improvements. It's hard to complain about her spending money when I do the same. The best recommendation I can make is commit to wearing the watches that you have. I don't want to buy any watches that are just going to sit in a drawer... or take quality wearing time away from my favorites. By the way, welcome to the forum, Phillip.
  23. Bad, bad news. Sorry to hear about your loss. I can't imagine how much that must hurt. In hindsight it would have been better to have these watches shipped separately. Perhaps the package would have drawn less attention. And if forr whatever reason a package failed to get to you (customs, theft, or simply vanishes) you would only be out one watch rather than three. For what it is worth, I hope the rest of your birthday celebration turned out well. Enjoy being 18.
  24. I'm holding out for the James Bond edition laptop computer.
  25. Welcome, George. There are a number of AP fans -- and experts -- on the board. Use search and you will soon learn which RWG board members have the best knowledge of APs -- and what the challenges are in finding those great AP reps.
