  1. Great post

i feel so useless since i can't upgrade my membership because of CC issues

but one thing's for sure, is that i have never found a friendlier and more helpful community as this one

my knowledge has expanded greatly since i first signed up a couple of weeks ago, and i have all of u to thank for that,

its been educating, fun and highly addictive!

i hope that ill be able to repay this forum in the near future, by supporting, adding content and simply helping out whoever i can

    thx RWG

There is no need to feel useless. I see that you give back by being very active on this forum. This is very Important. To Interact with other members is the life blood of this commuity. When you can you will upgrade, untill that time comes you are a valuable member just the same. :) Mike

  2. Something I thought about but didn't think to voice.

There are many forums that I've searched looking for answers to dumb questions and have found comments by arrogant know-it-alls that berate the poor person who posted something that was innocent enough, yet those in-the-know felt the need to express their "superiority" by hurling verbal sticks and stones. So many of us get excited about what we've learned that we must share, and in doing so occasionally reveal things that need to be identified and corrected. As we make mistakes, having someone who is more experienced point those things out in a manner that is helpful and respectful goes a long way to getting us where we need to be. Just like riding a bike, it takes a while to learn how to do it safely.

    Thanks guys.

BTW, that could have easily been me that told this story- except the part where I was buying a gen watch, and was trying on a bunch of gen watches, and would be caught wearing a PAM... :p

    +1 :D

  3. To Dempsey, Samurai, and Sammmalone. Thanks for keeping it classy guys. You were able to get your point accross and do it in a well manored and professional context. I know that I appreciate it and you can sure bet that MPP does as well. good job  Mike

  4. WELCOME TO RWG. I would try to read some reviews of the watches your considering. Then go to the trade reviews. There is a lot of realy good infomation there. Im sure a long the way some UK members will be more than happy to help you out. Good luck :) Mike PS You might want to check with Chris @ eurotimes. I think he is based in Europe. :euro:

  5. :welcomeani: to RWG. I believe that Idolreplica is connected to watceden is some way. Same watches, same prices, same format. same videos, you get the picture. ;) This is not a bad thing considering that Watcheden is one of the better rep sites. Good to have you here :) Mike
  6. Just a quick hello to all the forum members and a big thank you to all the guys who have posted guides and such like.

I have only been a member for two days but I have learnt a ton already.

I think I may have to take a second morgate out on my house now after seeing some of the quality on here !

    Dan

Welcome to RWG Dan. The second mortgage is not realy that big of a issue here at RWG. It's the third and forth that tell us that there may be a problem, enjoy :D Mike

  7. I came only one click away from ording from Exactreplicas. I decided to do some research and thats how I found RWG. I came up on a complantsborad.com. There was over six pages of complants about Exactreplicas. Several people received nothing. Others received a crapy watch that they had to return. Then there were still others who received the wrong watch. I cant tell you how relieved I was that I chose to do some snooping around. So stick to the dealers that have done well here. :) Mike

  8. wont quartz reps lack a sweeping second hand, though, making it a dead giveaway?

This is true but does anyone realy care/notice? Example.... When was the last time someone looked at your watch and questioned the movement? The truth of it is 99% of the general public could care less about someones watch. This has been my experence. The few who you might run into who like watches probably know nothing or very little about movements. Remember that this community makes up only a small part of are socitey as a whole. Most people that I know wear a watch for one reason, to tell them the time of day. Some use there dam cell phone. I dont think It will ever happen but lets say someone looks at my watch and says " Ohhhh thats a quartz, must be a fake" My reply would be " Indeed it is, thank you very much" ;) I have never had someone question the authenticity of my watch. Im not saying that could not happen. But the chances are astronomical. I like my quartz watches as I like my automatic/self winders. I say " if you like the watch, get it", no one's going to realy care/notice. Imho :) Mike

  9. Mate....I completely agree with you that we need a much more civilized behaviour....which perhaps has to be self goverened by the members here.

As for selling something to their favourite/preferred members.....I would say...given the nature of our hobby (not 100% legal) and the recent few scamming incidents.....it is the seller's prerogative to whom he/she might want to sell and being biased in this is as such ok.

While on the topic of etiquettes.....another thing that irks me is members sending PMs without any greeting or thanks. I get a fair number of PMs from members and a lot of them are one/two liners asking for info on where I bought a watch or recommendation on something else.....I still take the time to reply to them in a polite way...and very rarely have I seen anyone acknowldge the reply.

    Oh well..... :p

I agree, a simple thanks is a no brainer :bangin:

  10. No, it is not the same. There is a big difference between a 15 dollar album and a 20k watch. An album or movie ticket is pretty much affordable by all and there are not a whole lot of substitute goods for them. That industry has been hurt by piracy. A replica watch (or other luxury good) is not in the same ballpark.

Although; I respect everyones opinion, I would have to say that you hit the bulls eye. Realy know comparison. :) $10-20$ is one thing. $10.000-20.000$ is something completely different. Mike

  11. I probably know less than you. I'm certainly no Paneristi...in fact I only have interest in a couple of them as to me, they kind of all look the same. I do like the 310 because it's smaller...and I like the lumpiness of the 243 but it's a bit big...that's about it for me on the PAM front.

It' funny Toad about these Panerais. When I first arrived here I thought these were funky strange watches, with this side appendage thingy. I cant realy explain it but I realy like these Pams now, go figure. Same with Hublot. Im waiting for one as we speek. But there is nothing that can compare with a Breitling. ;) Im looking for a nice dress watch. How about the " Flying B Chrono"? What say you? :) Mike

  12. To each his own, some will simply buy a new watch vs ever having it serviced, or as you say, get it taken care of on site where they are produced (although not everyone has that option).

There is no right or wrong, it's what works for you...I know many who never service and have no problems with their A7750's...

    RG

One thing I can say for you The Zigmeister. "you are a very honest person". No bs thats for sure. We are very fortunate to have you here :) Mike
