Ubi's watch box from the recent GTG.

@Freddy333, you can find more photos of those hands I gifted Ubi in my 1680 Build Photos. I am also very curious, and seem to be blind to the nuances/variations myself. Picture #2 and #8.

off topic, but which crystal do you have on your sea dweller?
I suppose, I need to put an official build post up for the Ronin Rail 1665, but the SD has a Genuine "Service" T39. Think non-SUPER-dome.
That is beautiful! And is that a MK1 dial? With the 'L' in Rolex centered under the crown, it sure looks like one. Excellent job.
Very well could be. I believe it to be a Tritium Service Dial from that time period, but, WITHOUT the actual Tritium applied. Similar to Ubi's 1665 dial.
Welcome to the club Ronin! A beautiful job with all the satisfaction that goes along with doing it yourself. I am impressed and green with envy.
Colorado must be a hot bed for genuine Rolex parts.
Thanks, and between the two of us we can confirm the NEW YUKI cases are problematic, but, this 3+yr ~old~ Yuki case went together flawlessly.
Now you just need to make it look old, send it up to Nanug for a bit of aging!
My MO is-- well maintained with a recently serviced look. But I won't hold back on wearing it any and everywhere. I have a new found respect for the 15xx based Rolex movements and case design.
@Ronin
I think that is the problem I have with my 1665 the calendar retaining is not the correct one. sometimes the date is out of position. Where to get one Hmmmm
by the way amazing watch you have.
That would not affect position, rather the actual mounting of the movement into the case.
Thanks for kind words again...

Now, go out in the sunshine.
Congrats, and thanks for the dedication!

Fantastic. Rivet bracelets look SO GOOD on these.

Pics. Sorry a little blurry. I think I drank a little too much "Blind Watchmaker" (the official wine of the event).
Smaller turn out then expected. I did pad the place with some friends however so we had 13 people spectating.
From Left to right: Seafoam, Ubiquitous, Ronin, JChurch
JChurch - The 'friends' and 'staff' that came to the event were gaga over the Graham.
Ronin's box for the day. (Sorry bout the blurry photo).
Ubiquitous's box. Surprisingly, the 'bar staff' favorite was his IWC "Stock" Aquatimer!
Seafoam - His Elgin was one of the most gawked at that day, especially by the ladies.
Goodies
Wine of the day... with some Homages...
Say Cheese.
Mrs. Ronin double wristing with her Gen SOH 38 and Cartier Rep.
Mrs. Ubi and the v72 Daytona.
Thanks all,

Amazing as always. I had the pleasure of slipping this onto my wrist at the Denver GTG, and I thought it would be too small, but it was not. A perfect understated tool watch IMHO!
-
Better pictures needed... A 'quick' tell would be to look at the beveling of the date window. Also, look at the serif of the fonts. Tips of the S's, A's should have flat tops.
Based on the blurry pics, the lume looks a bit puffy like a NDT or re-dial.

Thanks everyone. Desperately seeking a Gen Bracelet...

BANDWIDTH BURNER AHEAD!

Happy Birthday. Many more indeed.

One just went on eBay for $44.00. So don't play into inflated Rolex costs.
-
Parking should be fine. Street side, to there is a parking lot behind the real-estate company.
-
Don't all of these have black datewheels?
When reporting it, note that in the comments if it is true ????
-
Since the 6538 is a no-date, and slow beat-- unless you plan on showing people the guts, I would use a "Japanese Miyota" 21.6, non-hacking $12.00 movement. Since it sounds like you have a 2846, use what you have.

Wow. Dead heat at the moment.
If I can just throw this out there... If you are a daily, and for sure, multi-times-a-day visitor here, I would highly encourage using the "View New" option. There is so much cool stuff here I think people are missing in the multitude of forums. Tutorials, GTG's, etc.
Now, if you go more than a few days, I can understand skipping to your hardcore interests, as 5+ pages of new posts might be a lot.

Show and Tell will be in full swing. There are others coming J.

Correct, Harold.

Welcome indeed. In no time, you will be building your own watch no doubt.
If you have a sense of humor about watch forums, I highly recommend watching this video in this thread:

Received my J&K crystal today myself and LOVE IT.
After a couple of bumps and bruises with normal wear, I honestly do not think you will be able to tell the difference. I can see no reason to drop $$$ on the Gen at this point. Another big win for the aftermarket.

Is the MBW retaining ring difficult to press on?

Take a look at this. I also used this approach and some light sanding on my recent 1680. A 30mm 12pt Socket is your friend.
