  1. As many of you know I am a huge Seiko fan. I presently have two Titanium (Asian market only) Samurai's. My Blue Sammy, was a "go to" watch, for its "do all, go anywhere" capabilities. However, with wearing a watch, comes the occasional ding or scratch. Especially Sekio/Citizen Ti that scratches if you look at it funny.

It was decided, lets give this watch a well deserved refreshing. Using the Omega Titanium Refinishing pad (Ofrei), fiberglass scratch brush (Ofrei), and 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper, the Ti restored to like new.

Also, Seiko uses "Hardlux" crystals in most of their sport watches instead of the tougher more scratch resistant Sapphire. I acquired a Sapphire, slight dome, AR Crystal from Yobokies.

    Below are the results.

    Before:

Scratched lugs, bracelet and original hardlux crystal

Titanium while it scratches easy, also restores easily!

    Thanks for looking.

  2. I say bring it Miyota. My 1995 Submariner REP was powered by a Gen Japanese Miyota. 15 years later, no service, it still runs. Kept +6 seconds accuracy for the first 13 years.

Personally, as long as it is a reliable mechanical movement, I could care less whether it is Swiss, Chinese, Japanese or Russian. I do think a Japan gets closest. (Seiko, Citizen, etc are rock solid)
