It is not uncommon to extract 15xx movements from inexpensive older DateJusts to use in 1680, 1665, etc, projects. Then either convert the old DJ to ETA power, or sell off the case/dial etc for a few bucks.

Now those are some serious levers.
I converted to levers since I never felt the typical presto pullers gave me a sense of confidence or feel. I only use a Presto for the Center Seconds hand these days, and levers for everything else.

As many of you know I am a huge Seiko fan. I presently have two Titanium (Asian market only) Samurai's. My Blue Sammy, was a "go to" watch, for its "do all, go anywhere" capabilities. However, with wearing a watch, comes the occasional ding or scratch. Especially Sekio/Citizen Ti that scratches if you look at it funny.
It was decided, lets give this watch a well deserved refreshing. Using the Omega Titanium Refinishing pad (Ofrei), fiberglass scratch brush (Ofrei), and 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper, the Ti restored to like new.
Also, Seiko uses "Hardlux" crystals in most of their sport watches instead of the tougher more scratch resistant Sapphire. I acquired a Sapphire, slight dome, AR Crystal from Yobokies.
Below are the results.
Before:
Scratched lugs, bracelet and original hardlux crystal
LUG SCRATCHED AT 5:00 BEFORE
Bracelet Desk Divers BEFORE
ORIGINAL CRYSTAL
After :
Sapphire AR dome crystal
Refinished case and bracelet
little squiggle is dust...
No more big scratch @ 5: lug, New Crystal installed
Lume
Re-Finished product.
Full on direct sunlight - "FIGHT THE POWER!!!"
Direct Sunlight!!! Gorgeous dial, shape-shifter.
Back in the shade, love the slight dome.
Titanium while it scratches easy, also restores easily!
Thanks for looking.

Some movies are worth watching more than once... Like 'Back Door Babes 13' and 'Gonzo Fuckin' 3'; those are classics!
Even then, it is only necessary to fast forward to good parts...

I actually went ahead and pre-paid in full with BK. That reserved me a spot toward the top of the list once they start rolling off the bench. However, now you guys have me spooked.

Excellent as always R!!! Dial is phenomenal.

@Freddy333 your 6542's are hard to beat though!

Until my nearly Gen 1680 is assembled, or my 1665 project completed-- based on my current Collection:

Favorite Rep "to Wear"

I say bring it Miyota. My 1995 Submariner REP was powered by a Gen Japanese Miyota. 15 years later, no service, it still runs. Kept +6 seconds accuracy for the first 13 years.
Personally, as long as it is a reliable mechanical movement, I could care less whether it is Swiss, Chinese, Japanese or Russian. I do think a Japan gets closest. (Seiko, Citizen, etc are rock solid)

20mm is generally 20mm, but the holes in the case may complicate its fitting. Where the endlink meets the head. the curved portion. Try it and report back...

Classic. How long before the USA is just another "Roman Empire" for the history books?

Nice Collection

Thanks for the heads up Kurt, knowledge is power.
It is finally nice to have a "baseline" on pricing these components. Looks like I overpaid big time on a non-Superdome.
Thanks again for all your contributions Kurt!

Inspired to put this on for Wed.

Correction, it will pass the earth at 28,800 miles, and all mechanical watches with a 28,800 beat will burn up...![bomb.gif](http://www.rwgforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/bomb.gif)
