Rolex watches do not make a ticking sound
Meanwhile Cartier watches ... also boast a cabochon stone on the winder:
...while rip-off Breitlings often have logos which are printed rather than embossed onto the dial
Ever wear a Gen 1575 powered Rolex? I can hear my 1603 from inches away.
Hmmm, I swear I have seen many without.
Recent Navitimer logos ARE printed. What do they mean by embossed (isn't that something you do to clothing).

Nice! Thanks for the measurements, wish more reviews included that level of detail.
Since you went with the 21J, does that mean the GMT hand is fixed/sync'd on the 24hr time of the real hour? Also, did they just lop off the dial feet that would/might have been used on the ETA version?

Doah! I missed it. Under $700, someone did well me thinks.

Great colors on the 917, thogaa. Don't forget to teach him that little hand flick at the end of the race!
You collection continues to impress the hell out of me!

+1 Ofrei has these movement between $12 and $27 dollars. (You may need your high cannon pinion from the rep though)
Just R&R (Remove and Replace)

Better than finding that $20 bill in an old pair of pants/jacket. Happy ending indeed!

Nice job.
Just a thought/suggestion, maybe look into better fitting end-links or go leather. For whatever reason my eyes are drawn immediately to the endlinks instead of the awesome watch head.

@Freddy333 Thanks for the dial design clarification above.

...besides, let them be distracted with crappy NFL/NASCAR/etc... $12 hats, shirts, and other crap.
Squeaky wheels get the grease;
If the watch/fashion industry whines there will be some half-hearted show of force probably involving a steam-roller.
If the RIAA/MPAA bitches, there will be some half-ass crackdown on pirated DVDs.
If Professional Sports complain, see above link.

(These dials are made to fit a gen 103x movement - they have no feet &, instead, clamp onto the pillar plate, so you cannot mod them for use with another movement unless its dimensions exactly match the 103x's)
Would dial dots work? I can't visualize the clamp system...

Well, even though I use many Apple products, I am not sure how I feel about this, actually short of using it for fitness, I hate it. Lets hope Apple doesn't create something akin to the Quartz Revolution of yesterday. Your thoughts?
Apple spawns new accessory line: nano watch straps
by Dave Caolo (RSS feed) on Sep 13th 2010 at 12:00PM
The success of the iPods, iPhone and iPad have been a boon for Apple and accessory makers. Shortly after each product's introduction, a small but highly competitive cottage industry of cases, sleeves, stands and so on emerges. Now, the new iPod nano's unique design has many manufacturers thinking the same thing: wristwatch.
The nano is small, light, square-ish and features a touch screen. When popped into a strap accessory like the Linq by Incipio, it looks good! The Linq will be available in five colors when released (grey, black, pink, blue and white), though a release date and pricing information are unavailable as of this writing.
It looks nice and the iPod seems well-protected, but I wouldn't want a wire going from my wrist to my ears all day. But that's just me.

Homebrew for Monday

Now...when you adjust the hour...that is a different story....even in the GEN Rolex movements 3135 adjusts the hour/min hand by turning the crown clockwise...whereas 3035 movement adjustment is made by turning the crown counterclockwise.
...and there you have it. Not even Rolex is consistent.

Nice watch and pics!

Ofrei. If the link below does not work search the site for ETA CASE.

Couldn't resist:
Keep up the posting!

ban the IP range you mean? nothing anyone with google cant get around in 10mins, starts with 'P' and ends with 'roxy'
IP address is no longer the only way to identify/track a person. Also, banning or watching "ranges" is useless (just one piece of the pie), especially if they live in a metro area with many other members. Our Admin team I am sure knows their stuff.

I understand you are posting this in the context of the Rolex sub-forum, but one reason is probably that a majority of "GENS" out there are based on ETA movements. Therefore it is not surprising the factories emulate ETA movements first and foremost. Take a Panerai based 6497 movement based watch. If you want a "Gen" time setting feel there you go.
Visual Accuracy should be #1 priority.

You could email WM9 for info on how to slowly build a Sea Dweller.
Oh Snap!
