OP question @ 1:10...

I have just recently completed a transaction with Watchadoo. No issues, shipping was a bit slow, but from AUS to USA, it was 3 weeks.

I have had 2 transactions with wholesaleoutlet aka: ewatchparts.com and as mentioned above, the order was not correct-- however I did get product successfully, and quickly. Just getting it "right" is the challenge for them.

In a pinch, I would not worry about it, but be prepared. The best advice when dealing with any of these guys including Yuki, NDT, and the like is-- WYSIWIG does not always apply.

i made this one a while back they are not that hard to put together yourself. I had to use a rad case since the pilot style case i first intended to use did not fit the dial

I agree with you Pete, the older bracelet actually tied into the design aesthetics of the CG, etc. The new bracelet looks more appropriate for a Seiko/Citizen.

Can we see a side profile shot with the domed crystal?

As soon as I get some time I will snap a pic or two, unless below will suffice.

The very last picture shows the slight dome nicely. To note: The dome simply rises to the level of the bezel. It does not rise above the bezel (which is actually a good thing IMHO for protection).

Here is a picture of a NON-DOME / ORIGINAL Hardlux crystal. Notice how the crystal is flat and about a mm BELOW the bezel.

I think something like a bezel insert is getting into nit-picking in this particular situation. Here is my rational-- this is basically the ONE, DIY readily available after market part. It is not uncommon, even amongst gen owners to use these parts. There was even a thread on one of the Rolex forums about swapping inserts on GMT Masters to switch between black, pepsi, and coke.

From a "Tell" perspective, I think we are overplaying it for a multitude of reasons;

1.) A non-AD/RSC watchsmith might actually repair a real customers watch with an after market insert as either a cost saving measure to the customer, or as a higher profit margin.

2.) A mechanically inclined owner of a GEN might just replace their insert with the JO or eBay inserts and avoid the hassle of a trip to an AD/RSC/Watchsmith.

3.) Lighting! Unless examined up close, under direct sunlight I fail to see how this "Tell" is going to jump out @ a WIS (who I also think we are giving too much credit to in this dept.) or anyone. I can tell you in a dimly lit restaurant or under retina burning fluorescents most would be hard pressed to notice these nuances from arm length or greater.

I guess all I am saying is a bezel insert is not enough to prove or disprove REP -vs- GEN.

@Rolexaddict - you mentioned you are in France, therefore-- [you] must hate Rolex because, as you have indicated-- only a certain ethnic type (in France) or douche-bags wear them.

This baby runs full OS-X, and with BootCamp, Parallels, or VMWare -- ANY Operating system. I am most likely going to get one, and see if it can handle all of my VMWare's, (Win XP, Win 7, Ubuntu 10, BackTrack, Knoppix, etc)....

I really like it-- except for the glossy screen. (This is becoming an industry wide cancer. Glossy screens are the computer equivalent to chrome bumpers on cars-- pretty in the showroom, or nice for photo/video presentation in a room with controlled lighting).

Finally, the product I have wanted since 2008. I might actually get this and retire my eeePC netbook finally. I might have to live with the damn glossy screen.

Bootcamp it, or VMWare it, and it will probably do most of what I need in a mobile package.

Shipped some Vostok's back and forth about 5 years ago, no issues.

The iMac is great, but I hate the glossy screens.

My choice would be the MacBook Pro with Matte Screen and a 2nd Monitor 24-30". Running with both screens.

The glossy screen is OK if you have total control of your lighting in the room, or spend very little time looking at things with dark backgrounds.

With the MacBook, you would also have portability.

I have more watches than I can wear on a regular basis. However, some watches I keep mainly because they are beautiful. The Lange Grand Arkade & Audemars Piguet Edward Piguet Tourbillon are 2 that fit in that category - rarely worn, but each has a permanent place in my collection

Great point. I view some of my watches simply as "Art". When I look at them through the case, they make me smile, and as long as they keep doing that, they can stay.

The coronet on the PT Clasp is too large.

That to me is the biggest issue, but honestly, it is plenty good. Heck, given the going rates of old, worn out gen Rolex bracelets, I would consider it acceptable to use on a Gen head as a replacement.
