Pete, First I need to say that I am quite glad to see you posting again... It means you are at least up and around a bit. I hope you are doing well Bro! Great comparo on these CG's. I must say, I am surprised just how well the EL does. At most angles he is SO close. I have had maybe 3 and being a CG lover enjoyed each one of them. I did not realize the similarity to Gen. I know there were different versions, but all in they are the cat's meow... Thanks Bro!

I think the dials are pretty well done. I have seen, had (and have) a dial that was varnished to give it a more Gen-like texture and it made a difference. The hands are VERY well done! As far as the back, I have never been too concerned there. I think there is a set of less commonly found serial #'s out there but I am not sure. As long as you get the Ultimate with superlume you will be golden.

Flush and polish the pin, and rebrush the CG. Toss on a killer strap and wear the HE// out of it!

I know there is concern about the lume... While I understand, I must say I love it this way as well! I would buy one either way! The lume as it sits is very mellow and contrasts so well with the dial. I am not a much of a purist obviously, I just have good taste.
