The main reason why we dont obsses about this is that is does not have anything to to with the visual appearance,
you can not tell when the watch is on the wrist or in a macro shot wheter its sets the hands in the right way via the crown or not.
Really not a big issue for me, cant change the fact if you dont get a genuine movement.
Just my 0.002

Guys, I would love too see some pics, before and after, because this sounds like a really good mod.
Having a DW 6263 myself with silly end-links I would love to do this!
Thanks for the tip by the way...

Thanks for the offer Sander, very kind of you.
Allthough this watch has a gen motor....
It will be interesting too see what the issue is, once Domi has fixed it.
At first thought that there was something wrong with the hands, can still be, but from looking at it seems good.
Hi all,
I have a rather intriguing movement issue with my IWC Portuguese Chrono (See pic)
The problem with it is that sometimes the running seconds at 6 stops running,
not due to lack of power because is still keeps time correct and the chrono works perfectly.
The watch is going down to domi so it will be resolved. But nontheless, its fun to speculate.
What do you think it could be?
Oh and its a genuine movement.
Cheers

Nice one iluvhockey, so the movement is holding up well with the thick and thin plate DLC coated?
How is the "sweep" of the running seconds at 6? Still a tad jerky or smooth?
Here is my franken portu:

Check with Alvinando, I remember him modifying a PAM dial to get a textured look, from memory it looked rather good.
Send him a PM, he will know for sure.

Blackbard, I had theese style springbars on a couple of hirsch straps (Mounted from the beginning offcourse)
Allthough, I think there must be a way of mounting theese on ordinary straps as well, if I only new how the "catch" is attached that would be a massive help.
Making a cut-out for the springbar (In the leater strap) should help if the catch is mounted so it can be detached and re-attached.
Mike
Have no experience wuth patek style spring bars unfortunately.
Mod the strap would be an option for sure, but how do they work. Is the "catch" removable, so you i.e can put in the springbar in the strap and re-install the "catch" in an for example drilled hole in the strap?
thanks andy
Hi everyone,
I am intersted in knowing how a catch-style spring bar works, and if a special leather strap is required or not? Or any modification to the existing leather strap is required?
Who better to ask then the paneristas who are the most frequent strap changers... Take a look at the link too see what springbars I am talking about.

You can also try Clarks - Nostalgia XXX on ebay, he has helped me out with a lot of thoose things with special requests on height etc, and yes he can get you only the crystal gaskets, just a couple of bucks and your good to go.
Best of luck,
Mike
+ 1 -> To me the 8, 10 and 12 looks odd. I dont know if the gen is the same because I have never seen the gen. But if its the same on the gen thats just plain poor design.
@ Kimerathon -> Are you on Jos payroll or something? You seem to be promoting this like crazy with qc this an that....
