Your ban will never be lifted Here is the PM and following email I received that I can show, the other 3 I can’t because the adults over at watchuseek.com (WUS) simply don’t care to have a rational discussion. Yes, I created 3 new accounts to have a simple respectful discussion about my being banned. I am an easy going guy but what doesn’t sit well with me is when someone says jump and my response is to be how high. I have strong opinions but not to the point of harassment and belittling people. If I do cross the line I am adult enough to admit my error and apologize. It is a frickin watch forum not life or death, such as talking someone down from a ledge. WIS such as those who participate on watch forums loves and enjoy watches. Some might say we are emotionally attached to our watches and it can be said watches and discussion of watches provoke great emotion within us. I am one of those people. I could go on but I’ll spare myself spending the entire night beating a dead horse. I thought of sending this to WUS but what good it do? I’d have better luck sinking to their level and bringing down their servers but why waste more of my precious time. In quotes are my original posts made on WUS that the mods took into account when deciding to ban me. My response will be underlined. I did enjoy WUS. I sold and bought many gens there. I wish I could print out the pm's from fellow members praising me for not putting up with any [censored] from fellow members who get their panties all bunched up for saying something derogatory about one of their precious watches. So crack open a beer and ENJOY! Here is my PM to a moderator: Re: I have a problem and hope you can help ________________________________________ Quote: Originally Posted by waterloo (a new accouint I created to send a pm) I was banned and want to know what can be done to overturn the ban. I don't want to cause trouble but would like to be an upstanding member again on watchuseek.com. Is there anything that can be done? Respectfully, Jason prsist again. Banned. Prsist, You have been permanently banned and you will never be allowed back on Watchuseek. This is not open for discussion, so your messages about being reinstated are pointless. Just in case you've forgotten how YOU did this to yourself, here's a bit of your recent history: "This is the problem I have forums. Someone uses some strong language and there is always some prude who gets there panties in a bunch. Some of us have strong opinions and others just go along with the flow. If opinions like mine have caused you to post less and be less active, I think I have done the forum a favor. Grow a pair, these are watches, not religious artifacts." "Two tones ( just talkin bracelets) are for those who know nothing of watches, mobsters, clueless, and those who lack fashion sense." You broke our sales rules by making a thinly veiled sales post for a Maurice Lacroix watch and posting a WTB in your signature. I never solicited my watch other than in the appropriate forum. If you have proof please share. As for posting a wtb in my signature that is incorrect also. I don’t consider “On the hunt for…” the same thing. I never knew this was a problem since quite a few members have wtb’s in their signature. What is the status of their account? Continued public complaining about the lack of a Maurice Lacroix forum. Public complaining, his is a forum on watches and watch brands. I thought discussion should take place here! The post was titled “Should Maurice Lacroix have its own forum”! Once the moderator prematurely closed the threa, after one day of discussion, I let the topic be. It appeared the moderator doesn’t share my love for Maurice Lacroix judging his tone and words in the thread. Publicly accusing moderators of deleting your posts when they hadn't. What do you call it when I posted a new thread and I check on it 5 minutes later and it isn’t there? Was I imagining I typed up a post? Twice? Accusing a moderator of "going off the deep end" for enforcing our rules I consider it childish to explain why you disagree and are against some of my actions in the same post you banned me in. You simply could have pm’d me your explanation without banning me. If my actions were out of order why not let me know? I guess you did in just banning me for upsetting your fiefdom. Instead of accepting your temp ban and coming back with a new attitude, you broke more of our rules by creating numerous duplicate accounts to challenge the decision You tell me I’m a bad little boy and go sit in your room without a simply adult discussion? I deserve and expect to be treated like an adult. It seems WUS is heavy into rules and respecting the forum but when it comes to its members, that doesn’t apply. It is apparent WUS only wishes to have members who are sterile, dull and only post “I just bought a new xxx, see how cool I am? Or “Wristcheck!!! Is the day coming where rule 242 states all members must click on an advertisement banner? Watchuseek is meant to be a friendly and inclusive place, and thousands of members seem to do just fine getting along with others, being respectful to everyone, and following the rules. For whatever reason you were unable to do so, so it's really not the place for you. Your right, if all that is expected of me is to be passionless about a hobby I love then maybe WUS isn't for me. ** Note that this is an unmonitored email account so any replies will go unread. ** Regards, Watchuseek Team In full disclosure I have never read the forum rules, but who has for any forum one has signed up for. As long as I don’t insult you as a person or verbally attack you. We all have opinions and aren’t dedicated forums the place to share them? I have never said I am always right but just ask for a fair shake. For the record, Linde Werlikn doesn’t deserve its own forum.

I got this from one of the blogs I signed up to. Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements Posted: 07 Oct 2010 12:01 AM PDT miyota 9015 Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements For about 10 years ETA has been threatening to stop supplying third-party (outside the Swatch Group) watch brands with movement kits. The horological drama has been high, with the Swiss government weighing in several times, and ETA seemingly going back and forth with what they are going to do. Before Nicolas Hayek died, the latest was that ETA would no longer be supplying (ebauches) movement kits to third party watch brands, but they could get assembled kits. There were rumors that he actually would be giving kits to select outside Swatch Groups brands that he hand picked. Then he died, and now it isn't clear who will get ETA movements and how. Whatever the fact may be for the next few years, watch brands that used to rely on ETA movements have been looking elsewhere for alternatives. This is because completed movement kits from ETA would be much more expensive and much harder to get. Miyota cal 9015 Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements One place many have looked to is Japan. While Japanese movements don't have the name prestige that Swiss movement do, they are often very good, and high in the value department. I got news that Citizen owned Miyota has developed and released a new line of mechanical movements made to compete with some work-horse ETA movements such as the wildly popular 2824 automatic. The new collection from Miyota is the Calibre 9000 series, and comes in three flavors right now. The first is the Calibre 9015, which is the closest competitor to the 2824. The same width as the 2824 (11.5 linges), this mechanical movement features automatic winding, hand winding, the date, and three-central hands. Power reserve is over 42 hours, and it beats at 28,800 bph. Nicely decorated, the movement is supposed to cost a lot less than the gold standard from Switzerland that it is competing with. The entire point of the movement is to serve is a viable alternative to the 2824 that is much cheaper but satisfies the consumer in the best possible manner. It is also quite slim at 3.9mm thick. Click here for a full technical description. Miyota cal 9015 polish Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements Miyota cal 91001 Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements Next is a very similar watch movement, but this one has an open view into the escapement. This is the Miyota Calibre 90S5. Aside from the open escapement (for when designers want to have a window to the "beating heart of the watch" on the dial), the 90S5 should be more or less identical to that 9015. You can see full technical description of it here. Last is the Calibre 9100. This pieces offers a few complications, but is still mechanical. Complex Japanese movements like this are quite rare. The majority of mechanical Japanese movements out there have just the time and a day/date function. If you saw a movement like this in a Japanese watch, you'd likely assume it was a quartz movement. While the 9100 will be the lease used of the three here, it is the most interesting. Functionally it has the time, day, date, month, a synchronized 24 hour hands, and a top mounted power reserve indicator. Not sure whether it is an annual or monthly calendar (would dictate when the calendar needs to be adjusted). A Swiss movement like this would not be cheap, and Miyota will offer it for what are comparatively speaking - bargain prices. I don't have a price list in front of me, but I know the savings over Swiss movements will be substantial. Click here for a full technical description of the 9100. Miyota cal 9015 escapement Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements Miyota cal 90S5 Japanese Miyota Targets Swiss ETA With Caliber 9000 Series Watch Movements While the prices for these movements will likely be impressive given their quality and function, they are still going to be hard to get. This I know. Another issue is accuracy. While there are some higher-end Japanese movement with amazing accuracy, most of those that compete with rank-and-file Swiss ones aren't ultra impressive. But that really, really depends on what you compare them against. A 2824 can be regulated to be within COSC Chronometer accuracy (about 4-6 seconds a day accuracy), but Miyota lists the Calibre 9000 series has having between 10 - 30 seconds a day accuracy. While it is possible that my expectations are wrong, the range closer to 30 seconds a day rather worries me. Does that mean they can be upgraded or regulated for addition accuracy? Perhaps. I wonder where the weak link is. The balance spring? The mainspring? Not sure. Watch brands out there will have a new set of weapons when wanting affordable "nice" mechanical watches. Everyone else out there should know what these new Miyota Calibre 9000 movements are all about when seeing them in watches. Look for them pretty soon. I'll post the final email I received explaining why I will NEVER (yes it was in caps) be let back onto wus. If I only knew how to brute force attack their servers....
-
Not bad. Can you tell me the dif. b/w the slow and high beat?

I'm looking to go vintage and would like to put a gernic oyster bracelet that has the solid end links on. Has anyone tried? Or know if it is possible?
-
I have been reading the new sub ceramic gen has AR on the Cyclops? True? I was under the impression modern Rolex watches didn't use AR on their crystals.
-
Who makes a pretty decent one? Either a double red or great white.
-
So the 36mm version being sold has no gen counterpart?
-
I've seen the subdials are to far apart on the rep compared to the gen. Does anyone sell a fixed version with properly spaced subdials? If there are no proper subdial version out there, who makes a good version.

Suprised I didn't get banned for an earlier thread about buying at an ad or internet. I basically said i saw no value in buying from an AD. It got pretty heated. I don't care where people get their watches from but for me it is pissing money away. For the non-wis and for those with money I can see why an AD is attractive. That's it in a nut shell. Sorry for threadjacking my own thread

Can't compare. Over 3 years and 300 posts.

My banning had nothing to do with reps. Though there are a couple members who discuss reps and even put reps they own in their sig. It had to do with a question why linde werlinkn (cant remember the spelling) was given its own fora. Nothing against the watch brand but wanted to know why. The mod explained why and then banned me. Don't delete my two posts about it, explain why and then ban me. I would have been ok with the explanation and I would have moved on. I can't believe the amount of posts my thread has received. I appreciate all the support. I love the site for gen talk and selling and buying of gens. I want my username back because of the time and effort I put in it to build my rep. I'll give the rep forums a shot on my gen fix. I have found the rep sites more fun and to my liking. After having problems logging into this site over the past two months it is great to be back. I experienced the other two fora but must say this is my first destination (no disrespect to the other two fora).
-
I made two posts that were deleted (I simply asked a question that the powers that be didn't like, I wasn't flaming or mean). My third lead to me being banned for a week. In the mods post he explained you don't argue with the mods and to go enjoy my 1 week timeout. Maybe I shouldn't have but I created a new account and pm'd the mod explaining if he just answered what he posted in the pm It would have been done. It was a simple disagreement that adult discussion would have settled.

Is it 36 or 40mm? Looking for the measurement of the gen. Thinking of picking the rep up.

FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS i HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO LOG IN FROM MY HOME CONNECTION FOR SOME VERY ODD REASON. IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE BACK! I had to make due over at the other two forums, while I have a new appreciation for what is out there I have always felt really at home her at rwg. I hope my access is a permanent thing. Any IT guys care to chime in on why from my home wifi network i couldnt access rwg.com? I was told I didnt have permission to access the website.

Looking for a rep friendly watch smith in St. Louis
Prsist replied to Prsist's topic in General Discussion
Timekeepers. Yes. They charge an arm and a leg for a service,$275. I'm trying to locate someone not so expensive. -
I need some work done on one of my reps. Any help is appreciated.
-
Do you service your rep or throw it away when she dies? I had a Swiss Eta and an a7750 die on me within 6 months of purchasing. I try to buy Swiss movts thinking they would be easier to service. I might take a flyer on an Asian 21j for cheap (so far this is the most reliable movt I have owned). If I decide to keep a rep I'll do so with the intent of keeping her for a long, long time. Now any future purchase I factor in taking the watch to be serviced. I dont mind spending good money on something because I take care of my goods. I do have a problem throwing down $400 every time a rep breaks, I would be better off saving that money for a gen. I know some might say to just buy another rep but quality and accuracy do vary over time. The only problem is a local watch smith charges $275 for a complete service. I find this too high and wait times for forum members who service reps are long. Id like to know your opinions. Ultimately until I find a local rep friendly watch smith I'm in a quandry. Has anyone found a dealer to sell reps with better movts (not dirty or bone dry?)

Love the watch buy only wear bracelets. As I typed this I realized a straight end bracelet will work. I was originally wondering if there is a bracelet with curved ends that would work. What color bracelet would match the case?
-
That's why I like Ti, so lightweight on my 6.25" wrist. I'm narrowing my collection parameters down. I'm starting to find out what I appreciate and what I will actually wear. If it isn't Ti it just doesnt work. Now there are exceptions such as possibly the Skyracer or a Dinner 657 diver.
-
The diver? Which color dial is most accurate? Is the a chrono that is close to the dimensions of the skyracer? Ever think we willed will see a movt similar to the lemania 5100? Central chrono minute hand?
