I have never taken the time to do a photography unveiling of a purchase so I have decided to give it a try. I purchased a Rolex 1665 "Great White" & a rubber strap for my IWC Slevin from PT on Oct. 24 and I just received the package today (Oct. 30). Pretty good delivery time. Packaging was excellent, wrapped generously in foam packaging and individually in zip lock bags and plastic protective tape (Rolex). A little background is in order. - When I was knee high to a blade of grass my father brought home a Rolex GMT owners manual for me for some unknown reason. The Rolex GMT (black & red bezel) was the watch that started my love affair with watches, but due to many reviews highlighting problems with either hand stack (valid or not) and my need for a functional complication

I was able to get the long side on by using both pin links. I don't think the release on the strap with the buckle works. When I push the release button down it doesn't release enough to let the pin slide through. Also the tolerance is next to nil! I need a third hand!. Anyone have any thoughts?Should I try taking it to a local watchmaker to install? I worry when I swap the bracelet back on I might run into trouble or ask PT about a replacement?

Good infor on Silix as I have wondered about him myself. JMB: I'd love to see pics of your Turn-o-graph. It is rare for me to find other admirers of the watch. I have a white dial in need of a servicing once I get round to it.

I didn't know a rep of the X-33 was produced? Do you have pics you could share in another thread?

Patent pending are the ones without HV right? How many were produced? In collaboration with Comex right? -
Charlie Sheen discovered his Patek Philippe watch was missing and tore apart his hotel room at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. A known watch collector with millions of dollars worth of watches, Charlie Sheen was lividly trying to locate his hard-to-get Patek Philippe Ref. 5970 watch. Collectors love the classic high-end Patek with a chronograph, perpetual calendar, and moon phase indicator. It is worth well over $100,000. The media calls it a "Sheen Meltdown," but he was really just looking for his timepiece that went missing on October 28th. The story goes deeper, though. Sheen blamed his "date" that night Capri Anderson for taking the watch. The two apparently met earlier in the night and ended up back at Sheen's hotel room where things got a bit out of control. Drugs and alcohol are obviously implicated - and Capri is said to have quickly become afraid of the 45 year old actor before locking herself into a bathroom. Forget the girl, at this point Charlie couldn't find the watch. Later taken to a hospital, Sheen's Patek was still on the loose. Does the porn star have it? The bell hop? Someone else? Sources are unclear about the events that led Anderson to Sheen's hotel room, and there have been suggestions that he was back to his old ways of paying for sex. Let's just hope that Sheen didn't inadvertently hock the watch at a pawn shop to pay for Capri's "fee." Despite the media fiasco, I just feel bad for Charlie. When you are a watch lover, and have a timepiece that rare, you'd scour the earth to get it back if lost. Via TMZ and others. http://www.luxist.com/tag/capri+anderson/

When did Rolex start applying Anti-Reflective coating on their cyclops? Which models received the treatment?

I bought something off the bay a few years back and the seller threw in a Rolex riveted bracelet. I vaguely remember possibly throwing it out last spring when I did a massive cleaning round house. I don't know why I woulda thrown it out since I have a box full of misc. watch junk but I probably got rid of it but can't be sure. It wasnt the nicest but I cant believe I would throw it out?

$200k? I knew DRSDs were up there in price but not that high. -
My first nice watch was a gen Tag 1500, white dial two-tone bracelet. I swore i'd never own a white dial watch again. Maybe it was the fact i wore it for 10 years, everyday. Maybe it was the two-tone bracelet. A shirt while back I bought a Breitling Aerospace silver dial and a couple other white dial watches since. I still haven't bought a two-tone bracelet yet and not sure i will. I find it funny how tastes change over time. Sidenote: I still haven't bought a blue suit r sport coat since '92 when I swore up and down the camel hair blue blazer would be my last blue suit/blazer I'd ever buy. I see blue suit and I see lack of originality, conformist.

Sellita is the new ETA, since they have restricted sales of ebauches to non-Swatch group brands. All reviews have spoken highly of them but will they be as reliable 20 years down the road? Signs point to yes
