  1. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this the ultimate rep give-away? The original is automatic, and this is based on batteries. Don't the hands go tic tic tic instead of sweeping motion?
  2. Well, i did use my lawyer, and we did scream up about unlawful imprisonment. Now, here's the real beauty. I got held in remand for 14 days because they we're charging me with being the financier. As a financier i risked a minimum of 6 years in prison if convicted. The guy who actually bought the weed and brought it to Norway risked 3 months imprisonment... How's that for logic? When i was arrested the newspapers wrote: "Head Chef key player in drug smuggling ring!" They weren't allowed to mention my name, but they did write: "The Head Chef at ... (my restaurant's name), also the son of the chairman of the board in ... (the company my mother was running)" When i was released they wrote three sentences on page 27: "Head Chef released from remand. Charges dropped. Police have no comment." Luckily i have some guests and friends who are journalists. We ended up doing a 30 minute special on my case that was shown on national TV. Without my friends my reputation would have been ruined. To this day i have no respect for police or for crime-reporting journalists. The journalists are given everything by the police, and they print it indiscriminately. We interviewed one of the journalists, and he actually said that i should have commented on the case. The fact that i was in remand and unable to communicate with ANYBODY except my lawyer was lost on him...
  3. Hmmm.... That's one dagerous assumption there Member X. I have yet to meet a fed or the Norwegian counterpart which is a KRIPOS detective with half a brain... The most intelligent KRIPOS detective i ever met had at best a 10th of a brain... I was once arrested for drug trafficing. I had lent my car to one of my apprentices, and he had taken his girl and a friend and his girlfriend to Amsterdam. The friend had brought with him about 2 lbs of Weed. The friend admitted to the crime, and didn't even know me or my name. I was however arrested because i had given them the money that was used to buy the drugs. I was held in remand for 14 days. As for the money.. Yes, they came from me. Strange thing that... An employer who pays wages to his employees!!! My apprentice had lent some of his salary and vacation bonus to his friend. According to the KRIPOS that qualified me as the financier of it all. In short. Never underestimate the stupidity of the police. As for the case at hand i would just like to say that it is reprehensible to commit fraud, although i can understand the mitigating circumstances that have been mentioned. I guess what it all comes down to is that if i was to spend USD 40 000 on anything, let alone a watch, i would be doing some heavy due diligence before completing the purchase. I would at the same time like to give praise to the staff and Admin for the most professional way they have handled this situation. With regards, Broker
  4. What is this? Is there actually a brand called Next? This is a watch that is supposed to be worn by the british Prime Minister... Kinda sucks...
  5. Hmmmm.... Have you been talking to my ladyfriend? She also thinks i am watching Spooks too much. Luckily i am almost done with the last season. The good guys are wearing Tag Heuer and Omega Seamasters... I guess that's sort of a stamp of quality for those two brands. I don't have chocolate chip cookies, but i do have a mean brownie with honey glazed paraboiled chopped almonds. I do serve it with ice cold milk on the side. BTW KB we need to have a talk about a couple of your bags. With regards, Broker.
  6. Hi! I have just bought an AP ROO JPM Rose Gold. I have big wrists, so i had to have HK Tan (Aaron) make new straps for me. What tools do i need to change the straps? And please don't refer to the kit listed on this forum as i'll be buying the tools locally. Just need to know what items i need (screwdriver etc). Thank you!
  7. This watch is just... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR *drool* Anybody know if it's been rep'd?
  8. I just shelled out USD 199 to have a strap custom made by HK Tan (Aaron). I think it'll be awesome. Black crocodile with bright red stitching. for a rose gold ROO
  9. I think your best bet is a Patek Philippe Aquanaut Mid range. It is classical, beautiful and understated. Most people wont notice it, but you will be getting nods of recognition from connoisseurs. I just ordered a jumbo sized myself (but i have 9.5" wrists...)
  10. I could add that it's the preferred watch among bad guys in the BBC TV-Series Spooks.
  11. Are you sure it's not all those pins in your face that complicates eating? I'd loose weight like that
  12. Ok! I have singlehandedly identified the evil agents in the forum!
  13. I noticed this true classic. It is a brilliant piece of work with a thickness of 1.9mm Are there any reps being made of this model?
  14. Even i can tell what watch it is from this angle...
  15. I doubt the BBC is actually using reps in their shows. But the angle is pretty off, and it IS a Carrera. This is what the bad guys are wearing:
  16. Hi! I've been watching the BBC series Spooks, and I've noticed their watches. As they aren't like James Bond they actually just use genuinely nice watches. I've attaced two pictures. They've been grabbed with vlc player. Please pardon the poor quality. PS: I can ID the two cell phones in the one picture...
  17. Hi! Just got an e-mail to my personal e-mail account. Is this a scam site 168watch.net Kinda disturbing that they sent me an e-mail directly to my private e-mail address. Which is different from the one i use in forums etc.
  18. Guess i'll just have to admit that my vanity takes a front seat in this...
  19. Probably, but i changed it for the ability to be irresistible to all women...
  20. I have to admit that the Sub was in the back of my mind. However which vendor makes the most solid one? Waterproofing is probably one of the single most important factors as i will be wearing it while washing knives, pots and pans.
  21. Rep or gen. Well i can go for an affordable gen, but i'd like to spend no more than USD 500. I do also have to admit that although the function is the most important factor with this watch, a beautiful design and a reputed brand would appeal to my vain side. (All good chefs are vain to a certain degree )
  22. The offshore as in Audemars Piguest Royal Oak Offshore? I know the limited Montoya edition is 45mm in diameter and 16.5mm thick. If this is the one you are after you will find extensive information in the AP section of the forum.
  23. Hi! I am looking to buy a watch to use in the kitchen where i work as a chef. It needs to be robust, shock proof, water proof and easy to read. Preferably with minute indicators between the numbers or even something digital. I am dependent upon being able to read minutes to calculate cooking time. I'd also like something on a SS bracelet as it will be exposed to oils, water, flour, detergents, and anything else you may come by in a kitchen. Any and all suggestions would be most welcome! Thank you!
  24. First off, glad to hear that there was no personal injuries. Is it just me or is the at-fault vehicle making a left from the wrong lane? To me it looks like there is a relief lane it should have changed to first. If i am right, and this car had done so, then the mini-van wouldn't have been an obstacle. If i am wrong, then please don't argue. Just look at the attached picture and giggle at the cuddly bunny!
