  1. That's really beautiful! I need to get me a 5513 :-) One thing I've been noticing with these though, is that most don't have a pearl at all... why is that?
  2. I have to disagree here... as I wrote before, I had a very good rendition of an auto-movement Rolex sub back in early-mid eighties. I'm surely not as anal as reps as I am now, but I could tell cheap from quality. I think I paid about $80-100 back then, which was on par with rep prices nowadays I suppose. No idea where it was made, wish I still had it for comparison though!
  3. Hi Guys... I'm talking with a popular TD here and on other boards about purchasing a watch. I have dealt with him before and he's been great, although I worry about using my credit card online at all. He says his PP account has been shut or limited recently and will only do credit card at present and his site is SSL and secure etc etc Has anyone paid for a rep directly with a credit card, and how secure could this be? Thanks for any insight you can provide!
  4. I bought a rep sub at a popular flea market in Lynn Ma around 1980-83 that seemed very good at the time... Was waterproof and had an automatic movement. Not sure what happened to it, but I do remember that I couldn't keep staring at it from every angle... Not much has changed for watches for me since then, gen or rep
  5. This seems very strange to me that Angus would charge $100 to fix a watch that was broken on arrival... could this be from a hacked PT website?
  6. Who TF is Chen? I thought Angus is Puretime I agree with Seafoam... this would be an easy and inexpensive fix at your local jeweler/watch shop
  7. yes, the contender has no power reserve, 'dude'
  8. It will be interesting to know if the power reserve works... The contender is a PAM 557:
  9. Can anyone tell me about the PAM 423 from the SWF factory and what is this factory famous for? I'm especially curious about the quality and if the PR works
  10. Can't wait to see it! But here's an interesting article: http://hongkong.coconuts.co/2015/12/15/mainland-china-shrinks-black-actor-star-wars-poster-state-media-denies-racism
  11. I had a look at this site... seems to have a lot of really cool stuff, lots that I haven't seen elsewhere. Thanks for the info!
  12. I still think that IWC is a step up from Rolex, but it's highly subjective. Unless you want to count the blinged out paved models of otherwise standard models. IWC has their standard low cost models with non-inhouse movements on-par with Tudor, but also their Portugieser line (and maybe other) with different levels of complications and in-house movements. They're both mostly medium to high run production products, and to me, Rolex is made more for the masses, and IWC more geared towards the unique... (ducking the pending fallout)
