little update swiss heart transplanted - thx Domenico
CG work, new crown, bleaching fun - forgot the time on the SD
SD was transplanted in an old MBW case ....
cheers,
Frank
a gen plexi should fit - i tried a spare aftermarked one - it fits - so no reason the gen should not fit.
not sure about the CGs will shave them on the weekend
the lugs are nice - position is perfect maybe a little too small for gen springbars.
in contrast on the SD the lugs sit too low on the case.
cheers,
Frank
yes - crown has to go the first -
i will shave the CGs on the outside - will see how it looks
as many gens had a lot of polishing over the years it should look okay ..
i did not even test the lume - as its a vintage piece -
again the 5512 has the right colour on dial and hands - tritium look -
the $ 98 SD (i got both at the same time)has slightly greenish lume witch needs to be fixed.
cheers,
Frank
$98 well spend -
needs a new crown, CG shave and plexi.
has nice dial, gen like construction, nice bracelet - good deal
will hopefully install on the weekend a new crown an do the case-work
1st preview pic
cheers,
Frank
got a nice 251 in a member trade - sadly one CG-screw is missing ..
the screws from Panatime don't fit - can anybody point me in the right direction or has one left ?
will pay or trade if you need something.
thx !
Frank
+1 i find i hard to believe that someone still spends more the $150 an a DSN/EL/LH super duper 110% watch
after the new PAMs maximum the old movements hold the value ...
cheers,
Frank
1 : yes with some shaving here and there
2 : nice - if you glue it on the Zodiac DW - be prepared to possible run in problems fitting dial and hands
3 : simply take the nice one from the 1655
4 : yes
5 : quite a lot on the crown guard side
6 : gen gen gen - no good after-marked there sorry
if hole is to big for your tube there is nothing to retap
cheers,
Frank
