  1. please don't glue anything on the movement my watchmaker put new feet's under the gen-dial - they come with some "holders" - so you can mount them under the dial + you will have enough space for the date-wheel/overlay. kind of hard to explain in English Frank
  2. outside of Germany just place a WTB in this forum : http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/ if you are in Germany you can PM me for the infos. cheers, Frank
  3. - thats exactly the insert i used .... from 2006 - do we have the same source ?
  4. @rosnik : after watchers post i didt a little research - my insert is from ref. 16660 - maybe its slightly different in diameter - see watchers post - he had to mile his insert slightly on the sides. mine snapped - with a little pressure - right in. @eddieplatt : try some gen Internet-forums
  5. wow - thanks allot ! i went today to the next AD - window shopping from 1m away - the rehaut-thickness does not look much different - but i could spot a difference on the CGs - i have to shave them a little more Frank
  6. its not the most accurate Rep out there - but by far the best modern Seadweller. i think its on the same level like the noob - Submariner ... both have faults, but are nice Reps. i don't think there will be ever a better version of the Seadweller - so if you like this Rolex-model - jump on it even unmodified - i think only owners of the gen could spot the differences. cheers, Frank
  7. thanks watcher - my "4" looks really different Rolex mystery ? i changed my insert the easy way : pop the pearl out - and get the old insert out via the hole ... no need to remove the bezel , but will destroy the old insert ... Frank
  8. as promised - her are the pics of the insert : you can get them in internet-forums like here : http://www.vintagerolexforum.com/ or in Germany there are "watch expos" where you can bye all kind of grey-marked Rolex stuff. cheers, Frank
  9. for a pearl check www.watchmaterial.com - they should have the best aftermarked pearls or try to get a used gen insert and use it from there. i don't know the stuff ofrei sells - i pay 40-55 Euro for gen inserts (when i find one). Frank
  10. yes the stock insert is very good - if you can just get a nice pearl - go for it. @rosnik will post pic later - im at work now but the gen insert sits just like the rep insert. Frank
  11. i did not install the crown on the SD - i just checked if it fits - i have only one gen crown here that i want to install in my noobmariner. so - no pressure test - sorry Frank
  12. its a Rep - so the law is : there are faults - but its better then i expected.
  13. here 2 quickies - noob vs SD look ok to my untrained eye Frank
  14. update : gen insert snaps in - no milling - no glue - 1:1 cheers, Frank
  15. had some time - so i played with my new SD - to my surprise a gen crown fit on the rep tube - first time i see this on a Rolex-Rep nice ! next test will be a gen insert - maybe it is in some parts 1:1 cheers, Frank
