  1. I am a sucker for orange accents on a black watch and your upgrade with that kevlar strap, WOW, thats a beaut. Congrats!
  2. Always a fan of Francks, very nice watches. Talk about Christmas in April!
  3. I just went to DeWitt's website and the intro flash movie showed this stunning new watch, "Repetition Minutes Antipode", I highly reccommend going to their site and checking out the flash intro its pretty slick, the watch is double faced and I think is just beautiful. I imagine since its a Tourbillon it would be hard to rep accurately (or affordably ). Just curious what others think! Cheers...
  4. I gotta say, it is pretty ridiculous, so many pages of beautiful things to buy...before RWG I looked at reps maybe once a month at most, now, its daily I'm searching for my next acquisition. This place is dangerous!
  5. LOL - slick pics, being new here I hadn't seen those before, nice post.
  6. It looks like watcheden has it: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Rolex-Submariner...ati-t91718.html and has what appears from the pics to be the GLIDElock clasp. Just from the pics its looks pretty accurate, but I am by no means an expert. The price is nice too. Gotta say, since I first saw this in GQ, I've wanted it.
  7. My turn to bump this review I guess, it really is fantastic. The link was one of the first reps I ever bought, though not of the quality mentioned here (mine came from a guy selling out of a briefcase in New York when I was 16). Finding this review makes me nostalgic, I might have to order one!
  8. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had heard of www.watch321.com? I've emailed them and they are very responsive, send me excel sheets with photos, pricing, etc. and occasionally send me updates when they get new products in. They've quoted me some very nice prices (about 40 less than the dealers here) on some watches and I was just curious if anyone had heard of them. They fully admit to being based out of China and seem to be affiliated with selling other rep products as well. Any feedback is appreciated!
  9. Thats a beaut, I'm green! nice 'ingredients'
  10. Excellent points here, thanks too for the info about ETA. I've been trying to get in contact with DSN about a 009 and not heard anything so I'm curious how you got a hold of him.
  11. Thanks for this feedback, I was interested in there PAMS too, in checking them out it looked like the mid-range ones MOP mentioned are pretty good except for the casebacks, being a NOOB myself I don't know how easy those are to replace.
  12. This is an old post, but rather than re-post I'm bumping, I too am looking for a Baume & Mercier Capeland S, particularly this one: http://www.gemnation.com/base?processor=vi...mp;watch_id=145 Any one know if this has been rep'd? Thanks!
  13. freddy 333 has it right, eBay is a great place to look. For my father-in-law last Christmas I got off of eBay a solid cherry watch box that holds eight watches, has a nice glass top and two drawers, cost 17 USD shipped. Good luck!
  14. I just want to make a quick note, many ADs may know that you are wearing a rep, but many, many do not. Your average shop, particularly one that doesn't specialize in watches, has a sales staff that likely has one watch expert with the rest capable of selling to your average joe but unable to tell a Rep from a Gen. This has played out for me a few years ago when I was shopping for an engagement ring, I'd go into a store wearing my rep watch and get comments on the watch from the sales person I was working with, I was always appreciative but never revealed it was a rep. I think that if you're going to an AD and trying to pass it off as a gen its one thing, just to casually wear one while shopping is another thing entirely. Cheers
  15. This is especially true when you consider the cost of the watches he sells and the rest of us try to collect, Rep or Gen they still cost a lot more than a digital Timex that serves the same purpose. It's a lot like cars, sure I can buy a base Toyota and have a reliable, fuel efficient car, but its not art; a Lamborghini or a handmade Swiss watch? that's art.
  16. Hi Everyone, I'm new here, I've got a small collection of watches already but all the places I've purchased from in the past have disappeared so I thought I'd join a knowlegeable group and learn the where, why, and how of buying from more reliable sources. At this point in time I have 2 Japanese Rolex's (GMT II and Submariner) 1 Omega Planet Ocean 1 Cartier Roadster I imagine they are of average quality, enough to past muster for most but probably not a watch expert, definitely not SSwiss. I look forward to learning and participating and acquiring some more watches for my collection! The next watch I'd like to get is a Breitling Navitimer - Blue - with stick markers and a true Valjoux 7750 movement. Thanks!
