  1. If the hand is not slipping, taking it out and placing it back in the correct position should solve the problem.
  2. I think that even if there is no tension in the swan neck, the regulator should be adjustable. Nice movement.
  3. Sorry to hear this. I can feel you, they tried to break into my apartment two times since last August, and a few days ago they broke my car's glass. Try to keep up, think of what could happen if someone woke up -- or if the bastard found your collection.
  4. All genuine PAM non-plexi crystals are sapphire. All genuine PAM sapphire crystals are single AR coated (on the inner surface only) after B series (1999). Genuine PAM AR is almost colorless, not blueish. DSN crystal for 127 will fit any standard 127 rep case. But non-standard 127 rep cases do exist (less than 5% of cases, I would speculate). Non-DSN sapphire crystals are subject to spontaneous exploding like glass crystals. Never heard of a DSN crystal exploding.
  5. No doubt there must have been some serious mistake by Mark. I am confident he will sort it out. On my limited experience, he always came through in the end. Out of curiosity: you said you paid for a sawteeth rotor. On the non-King HBB, a sawteeth rotor screw is the easiest way to tell rep from gen (rep screw is sawteeth, gen screw is not). Is it the opposite on the HBB King? EDIT: oh well, being it no-display back, I suppose it's no matter...
  6. 600 DPI scan from the official OP catalogue. W/ best wishes on your project.
  7. If the teflon gasket on which the crystal was sitting is still inside your bezel, no glue is needed. You just have to push the new crystal in place. Else, Seiko double component glue recommended. Don't use Loctite or other common glues.
  8. Going to tell it soon on RG. As TTK has no way to defend here.
  9. My watchsmith has been able to fix date vertical misaligment on a couple of my watches that I messed up by playing with datewheel mods. I am no expert so I cannot tell you how, but it had something to do with the datewheel teeth and the mechanisms engaging them. On the other hand, I am unsure about the horizontal misaligment. But if it was not there before the "repairment", I suppose it can be fixed as well. Sorry for not being able to be more specific.
  10. Lost 700+ USD and 1+ year with TTK.
  11. As kruzer said, it is difficult. But you can get a hint by looking at the cyclops' border with a 5x or 10x loupe. If you can see a double border, or an unusually thick whitish circle all around the border, chances are that it is a recessed cyclops i.e. a sandwich crystal.
  12. Definitely. You can find that crystal & cyclops on most submersibles, all recent DSN auto PAMs, and unexpectedly even on a few low-cost PAM reps like Joshua's 1st generation Asian 104. Unfortunately, sandwich crystal / recessed cyclops makes replacing the cyclops almost impossible in case you want to do that, as kruzer wanted.
  13. jkerouac's advice is the best you can get. That said, I got this APRO from Joshua two years ago and I still am 100% satisfied with it.
  14. Fake GMT, fake PR... bleah. I just wonder whether that crystal may work as a replacement for a broken Minifiddy or 212 or 253 crystal...
  15. Unfortunately no, trio, unless you are willing to do a hard reshaping work on your strap ends. The HBB strap ends are pretty complex in their shape, all but standard. Here are a couple of pics (with my apologies for the 2nd crappy pic):
  16. Your best option is to replace the whole movement. If it is a DG 2813, it costs 4.95 GBP. If it is a DG 4813, it costs 11.95 GBP. Both from cousinsuk (just note that they misspell the DG4813 as DG8413).
  17. Buffer, sandpaper, pastes, and so, have no chance. You will end up by either removing the coat, or little or no effect. Beadblasting is an interesting experiment. But I would assign about 20% chance to work. A matter of good luck.
  18. No as long as it is a standard 6497 radiomir case. The 6497 is one of the flattest movement, while the 7750 is one of the tickest. But there are PAM 287 (auto radiomir) reps around that mount a very thick Seagull movement. I bet that they can fit a 7750, and they cost no more than 80 USD. I used them on several recent homage projects of mine (here and here). You may buy them from Shir on iOffer.
  19. That is a quite ugly cased 027 rep. It mounts a DG 3886 movement. Pretty decent Asian movent. The only other option you have for a movement with power reserve at 6Hr is an ETA 2892-A2, at no less than 500 USD -- provided you manage to find it. Silix was selling a similar 027 rep, with a much better case, at 80 USD. A fair price for that watch is 40 USD.
  20. About the 6497, the need for a Swiss movement is like the need for an AAA+ grade replica. Leave it out, pick a good Asian, and live happy.
  21. To me it is an excellent Asian, and personally I think we should give up with this obsession to tell Asian from Swiss on the 6497. There are always Asian parts, and the 6497 is such a simple movement that good Asian clones are at par with Swiss movements. What really matters is how good the finish is, and, on H-series movement like this one, whether the text is engraved like the gen or applied.
  22. Unfortunately, no. I lost 700+ USD and 1+ year with TTK. I never got a MBK Nautilus and two subs ordered from him on June 2007. And he has been banned out from here -- and also from RWG1 if I correctly remember.
  23. 1 screw instead than 2 is completely wrong, whatever you did to it. Just ask Puretime 2 new screws, he is an excellent dealer and he should provide you with them. If one (or both) them won't screw again, then we will focus on your CG.
  24. Wonderful! Awesome!! Amazing!!! SF 240, I am madly jealous.
