A little bend in the topic legal or illegal.. imo this is what the heart of this hobby of ours is about.. The Hunt for the genuine parts .... the research into the proper parts to get it to spec. It took me a liitle over a year for some of my projects and only for a good member friend did it come to fruition My Ubifranken Tudor Snowflake is the pride of my vintage collection .. I still would not wear it into an AD ... they would not appreciate it for what it is.. I have bought genuine vintages but they don't give me the same satisfaction as actually sourcing each part myself.. the reward is wearing it .. there is a difference in the joy of a franken vs. a genuine ..imo I may be off base compared to the previous thread.. but to me there is nothing illegal about a franken.. I bought the genuine parts without criminal activity .. the case is a replicated version .. but in my mind set.. it's a bit different from a replicated brand dial.. etc.. then again I am prejudiced in my frankens.. These are my franken UPO's.. both are genuine dials .. gen. crown/tube .. the "Punpkin" has Chiefs AR coating the black and white dial has the genuine crystal.. both have studio lights beamed directly at the dials.. chiefs is way better wuality for 60 usd.. the genuine cost 200 usd.. and has a hue to the reflective broadband.. Ofrei offers the genuine Omega parts.. you can go nutz with the UPO as far as genuine parts.. AC lani

Like Ubi says the genuine bezel needs modding to fit.. and the genuine insert needs modding also it is thicker than the rep. bezel will allow.. but the rep bezel is not bad..getting a better pearl would be all that's needed.. the genuine dial is in reality the way to go .. imo.. it is a big improvement along with a genuine tube and crown (necessity) and send the crystal to chief for AR.. I have both chiefs and the genuine crystal and chiefs is much better quality and cost 60 usd for AR removal and treatment .. the genuine crystal is 200 usd last I ordered.. the dial around 200 from ofrei.. i think it's less cost to go with ofrei.. than cousins.. the bezel from Ofrei is a little more than 200 usd.. so for the cost I would go with the genuine dial which is more of a tell and the tube/crown around 40 usd.. either have the rep hands relumed or the genuine hands are around 40 usd. both UPO's have genuine dials.. the Pumkin has chiefs AR the black and white dial has the genuine AR.. both have studio lights beamed directly at the dials.. see the difference.. ??? chiefs is invisible the genuine has more of a hue.. enjoy your UPO whatever you decide to do.. agree with fakemaster... if the rotor is loose or has come off altogether.. it just needs to be reattached.. you need to remove the bracelet.. open the case back.. if it will not open with your thumbs try a ball of duct tape using the sticky side for friction and twisting..(roll the duct tape into a ball.. place it on the case back and apply downward pressure while twisting..) the rotor often comes loose in shipping .. all you need to do is press it back on.. check with your dealer.. ask him if you should try this.. it'll save you sending it back.. since it is not an internal movement problem.. I've had this happen on several watches after receiving them.. AC Lani
