  7. As stated yesterday.. posting the case back today.. Nothing fancy gang..
  8. sorry double post.. new mobile modum..
  9. you can also use a 2 part epoxy.. it is thick and will not run.. no worries on the excess glue on the bezel.. it comes right off with radico.. use the radico to wipe it right away and then press the radico in place for a minute.. until the screw is secure.. keep it simple.. removing the bezel can be problematic unless your experienced
  10. .. I am convinced you did the art for album covers of the 70's freddy.. !!!! This is soooo Cooool and the vintage GMT ain't bad either
  11. It has extended to other areas of the forum as well,.. but conversely there have been a lot of new members that have restored my faith in the younger generation.. must have been good "Parenting" when they were younger.. or "old fashioned discipline by Dad" I usually don't post names.. but.... ammendal.. one of the newer members who is familiar wtih timepieces has been a true Gent !! and it other newer additions are reading this .. you would do yourselves all a favlour by mimicking his manners and respect .. cause only by giving it do you in turn do you recieve it !! Respect~ The Man is a Class Act.. fo sure.. We will always have the "hit and run".. people that come here for info then run.. ERGO ~.. as members who frequent this forum that we call home.. I believe we really need to lean on the newbies to upgrade to supporter status .. We do spend countless hours of our time and money and pass on all our knowledge... the least that can be done is for members coming on board to help with our daily usage.. jus ma 02 Aloha~Cheers Lani
  12. And do you believe a Nurse once said she couldn't find my vein for the IV .. sheesh.. the MD,.. told her, "he has railroad tracks.. wadda ya mean you cannot locate a vien.. could've done a better job myself.. I didn't tighten the strap enough .. it was riding right on my wrist bone.. so a little tighter without choking ma wrist.. it should look flatter The Porto VC would be awesome huh ??.. Sooner or later they will, I'm sure .. there may be adjustments that have to be done manually.. I would rather that then a broken timepiece anyday.. @billyw .. yes, Joshua.. I justa sked him to put the white dial in the mail .. along with the BP 5004 corrected hands @Clamul .. thank you !
  13. Hey V, Thank you .. This is measuring 43 without the crown.. the gen is 42 I believe..
  14. thank you T the DW is DEEP.. no way around that one, with the mods to the movement .. the DW on the rep is not beveled.. I'm not trying to minimize it.. but the D wheel is black, so it kinda hides the depth .. a"little" and the bevel is not really noticable.. it may be I'm focusing on the sub spacing
  15. I plan to .. but it will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon... it's late and I've run out of day.. @ Theo.... it is not too small actually.. 44 mm .. I hardly have any Dress watches so this will do nicely.. well, compared to my sports watches that is.. not too many.. gotta talk to Aaron.. with all the wrist shots of his straps.. now he's taking too long with mine but it's all good.. the Hornbacks seem to take a little longer..
  16. it does have an Asian handwind .. dunno if it's the same.. I got my FA Jones a few years ago.. the gearing feels more positive on this one.. I've had this for about a week and the power reserve is very good.. over a day and a half without being fully wound. edit add:.. thanks Samu .. it would go well with your collection of dress pieces..
  17. Stunning Samurai !! I have been biting ma lip to resist this one.. but WOW !!!
  18. thanks again Mickey !! wonder what the "line up" will be for this movement .. it's still running spot on !! the rotor is noisy and I'm sure that will "become" an issue after the excitement of the sub dial spacing is calmed down.. but for me.. it's all "Good"
  19. This is the IWC VC .. just released .. if you do not jump on this.. (even with the flaws) .. then ... dunno The strap is incredible !! The dial finish .. the crystal.. everything about it ... is not reflective of it's price tag !!.. 108.00 usd the Asian movement feels tight !! the Gearing does not feel like a cheap movement.. I didn't take pics of the case back.. sorry.. I can add them later.. but I really do think I'm going to get the white dial also..I just love the look and size.. must be because of the 108 usd tag .. The strap is like patent gator.. looks great !! better in person actually ! Sorry, I could of aligned the buckle a little better.. .. pic is mainly for the strap.. The dial in natural sunlight is stunning .. although the sun is going down.. you get the point.. Nice blue hue .. The Markers and numerals morph in different lighting.. silver to gold.. Cool!! I am not even going to bother comparing this with the genuine.. the numerals are a bit larger than the gen. .. but I am estatic.. mainly due to the price of this one.. when is the last time we saw a dress watch for 108 usd with this quality ? Thanks for viewing Aloha~Cheers Lani
  20. again you are correct RM.. but this blue is more like a "mirror" blue and not the "absorbant" blue of the genuine .. Chief did say at one time that he was going to do an AR run to match the genuine AR's .. that would be cool as I am a fan of some of the AR's having that "transparent" blue hue maself... the rubber strap makes the case seem smaller though.. the ss bracelet just enlarges it.. but it took a few hours of frustration to get the bracelet to stay.. and now to swap it back to the rubber.. fogetaboutit !! that could work if you could accomplish it with such a micro piece of metal... without any "tells".. ie. glue marks scrathes etc. I have a rep dial or two laying around somewhere .. perhaps you would like to try your hand at taking down the feet on the emblem whilst still on the dial then transferring it to another dial..?? @morlock ... thanks man... a 42 mm would be perfect all around !!!
  21. Welcome RO this is an incredible community with many experts .. Noob guide is a must read.. take your time . and join us all in this obsession !!.. we are more than just watches Aloha~Cheers Lani
  22. Had this on Wednesday ~
  23. Before they started replicating reps with genuine as samples ... take a look at the Omega Logo in the pic (lower botom right) was the Omega logo that was and still is printed on the literature what the makers used to replicate the logo on the dial ?? If it was they may have sourced it out to one of their many sources for small detailed parts.. the rotor they are using is the same as 2 or 3 years ago.. so my "guess" and it is only a "guess" is that they may have produced hundreds if not more of the logo with "feet".. as they do to cut cost, by ordering in " massive bulk.. so to correct this now.. well, they may have choosen to use their surplus .. my earlier guess would be the "copy right" theory.. but that is probably false.. regardless, I think we will be stuck with the "happy feet" for a long time to come.. dissapointing but I rather have the correct sub spacing if given the lesser of 2 evils..
  24. As was stated sometime ago in a thread far .. far .. away..... these screws are non functioning threaded thingi's and I have tried locktite before .. but that would mean the screw actually tightens.. which these faux threaded screws will not do.. they just keep spinning.. as all the Skyland bezel screw do.. using super glue runs the risk of the very thin liquid seaping into the bezel.. locking it in place.. my solution was using "Rubber Cement" .. the type they use in grade school.. now, this is not the white glue.. but the thick opaque one that comes ina bottle with a brush.. "Elmers no-wrinkle Rubber Cement" it dries into a "gummy" paste.. so it will hold the screw in place without running into the bezel,, just use a toothpick to apply some of it to the screw,, the end of the threading nearer to the head of the screw..this way if you need to remove the screw (for what ever reason) you can .. I believe this resembles what they may use at the factory.. but do not do an adequate job of it..
