  1. No, just build 'em to enjoy building 'em. I will probably hold onto the 6605 SS date-just and perhaps the gold shell. I haven't decided yet.
  2. To all you Mothers.....Happy Day! A little R+R with the family:
  3. Welcome. I am an iPad idiot and a non-geek.......buy if you have a watch question, I stand st the ready......
  4. Red, Blessings for a wonderful life together! Cheers!!!!
  5. I will take some pics. I pulled the movement from a Bulova Oceanographer. The date position is just about dead on. The original Rolex spacer ring fit well. This case is a 6605 from 1957. The only problem is that this movement only uses a tap 8 stem and the Rolex crown is a tap 10. I ordered a few plus a tap 10 die and I am going to try to have them turned down on the threaded end. I too love this movement. Strong runner, and very accurate.
  6. No stupid questions here. The TT Datejust(Back left is 100% Gen. The Mid size Salmon dial is 100% Gen. The Gold Shell date HAs Gen dial, case, crown, tube and crystal with A Gen eta 2824 mov't. The Gold Day-Date is rep with Gen dial, Gen crown The Stainless Date-just with black dial is all Gen except the Movement (Swiss Bulova 11BLACD)
  7. Thanks. It is actually a 15505 Gold shell Date model.
  8. I like it too. It's a Mid sized I got for my wife......she didn't like the color so now she has a Silver dialed Air King. The Middy is going back to my watchmaker.
  9. Thought I wouild post a family pic before the sell off:
  10. Enjoying a gift from a very good friend:
  11. 14060M is more desirable but if it is a good price between $2400 and $3000 with boxes and papers go for it.
  12. Wearing this one now on a Black mock Croc:
  13. Without a timing machine you are grasping at straws. If the movement is out of beat(Beat Rate Adj.) regulation will be near impossible. Also, A movement in need of service will be tough to get consistent performance out of. Where are you located? A competent watchmaker can bring it into acceptable range in a few minutes(Assuming the movement is clean. I have a timing machine and it is invaluable.
  14. Bracelet came from my watchmaker's junk box. It is SS/14k. The diver's extension was broken and it has some stretch and wear. I put a SS fixed end(since this isn't a dive watch) and you can't see it anyway.
  15. Breakdown: TT 16014 Date-Just. All Gen. cobbled together from many sources. SS 6605 Date-Just Gen case from 1957. Gen crown, Gen tube, Gen jubilee from 1970. Gen dial(refinished by the blind sheik. 11BLACD Bulova Movement from a 1977 Oceanographer. Gold Shell 15505 Gen dial, case, crown and tube. Gen ETA 2824 with overlay and aftermarket hands. The movement from the 15505 was used to build the 16014. Many thanks to my watchmaker and Ubi and soon, JMB. I love you guys!
  16. Well Dave, that's, um.....original
  17. Are they ever really happy.....
  18. Gen 15505 case, dial, crystal and crown. ETA 2824 mov't. Aftermarket hands, Date wheel overlay. Assembled by UBI, soon to be enjoyed by my wife
  19. Great choice for a great member. Happy Birthday in advance! Regards, Kurt.
  20. Wishing I could wear this piece of crap: So instead, I am wearing this boring piece:
  21. I ordered the clamps and screws from Jules Borel. I ordered 2 in every size. You are going to have to stack 2 because the gap will be too big.
  22. Driving along in my automobile.......
