  1. her are some coronet shots....all gen: Notice the variation of the spacing between the bottom of the coronet to the 3 dots. Als, not the the opening in the bottom of the coronet is always flattened not open and rounded. I hope this helps. The Tall thinner coronet was def. more prevalent in the vintage time period where as the stubbier is more modern. All have crimped construction. The 704 is solid construction, but the opening at the base of the coronet is flatter than the round opening present on your crowns. Whew! I am done. All this talk of crowns......I need a crown and coke
  2. Important note: This is not an Explorer (1016), it is a 1500 Oyster Perpetual Date. The dial is an Explorer precision dial(Smaller than the 1016) The crystal is original to the case.
  3. I have a picture somewhere of a 704. I know Ubi has one installed on one of his watches. I think on his modern Daytona(correct application)
  4. The date can be quick set the old school way. Advance till midnight, after the date changes, roll the time back to 9 pm then forward again. Gen crystal will require ID of bezel to be shaved. As for the crown, a 702 crown and tube would finish it off nicely. Question: Where can I get a bracelet like that? Also, if a new crown is what you are after, I would shave the CG's as they are not even close to gen.....big surprise right
  5. Okay, so I am not a man of many words (my wife would argue that but who's asking). Breakdown: Gen 1500 case Gen Crown/Tube Gen crystal Yuki dial Movement Gen ETA2892 And just added, Gen 7835 bracelet. If anyone has a set of endlinks I could use them as this bracelet has a mis-matched pair. Still need a decent set of hands. Feedback expected and appreciated.
  6. ALL 703 crowns have a crimped SS shell. This crown is a Solid Stainless Steel. The only crown Rolex makes in this style is a 24-740. I did a comparison some time back.
  7. Wearing one whilst I begin another.....
  8. All of the dealers on our forum that offer Rolex will have what you want. Check their feedback and buy in confidence. They are here for a reason.
  9. Time to start modding........in a funky sort Happy Mardi Gras!!!! Laissez les bon temps roulez
  10. I knew it....... Personally, The GMTII Ceramic would get the nod over the DSSD......just cause I think the DSSD was a big mistake on Rolex's part. Now as far as accuracy, the GMT has the wrong hand stack(Correct hand stack can be found) and the cyclops doesn't have AR but members have overcome that. Good luck and thanks for taking our [censored].
  11. Only two dumb questions? You must be purty smart......Welcome to the greatest "Know" on earth. The knowledge base you have now accessed will make your head spin and drain your savings. Have fun!
  12. No offense intended. How vague a question could you ask? Allow me to assist: Do you like big watches? would a 34mm watch be too small? Do you like chronographs? Do you like Bling? Gold? Two-tone? Do you like vintage? Do you hate sapphire crystals? Is a manual wind o.k.? You see, the answer to YOUR query depends on how you answer mine. If you have a more focused look, style or function, you might be surprised at the responses you get. Now, does anyone have one for sale? I have a Tudor 7032 with serviced valjoux 45min movement, gen crystal and $550.00 Yuki case/dial. But again, if you don't like vintage or chronographs or manual wind or big watches.....it ain't for you.
  13. Yukiwatch has them.....$65.00, I just ordered a set.
