  1. Ubi's right. Unscrew the crown until it pops out a bit then wind.
  2. So........it sucks being color blind. [censored] all looks the same to me :-)
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I am not a cyclops fan either and I am definately OCD about the dirt and such that always seems to gather around that thing.
  4. I mixed 70% enamel Silver with 30% enamel White. BTW, Cyclops on order. Should I install it or leave it off?
  5. Any better compared to this: Original or this After paint And would you say that this is genuine Ceramic?
  6. Friday: Saturday: Sunday: Have a great weekend all.
  7. I assume enamel paint is available in this color? Or would a thinned white over the existing color give a better effect?
  8. Hello friend it's good to see you around. What color should it be? I am color blind so noticing these things is very difficult for me.
  9. Heading your way tomorrow. Regards, Kurt.
  10. Good points..........kinda glad I am color blind
  11. I agree. While the color is off, I think the shape and crispness look far better on the new insert. I gotta say, i am not sure that the insert isn't ceramic. I know the old one is metal, but the newer one is thicker with a different grain and a more china like sound when it is hit on the table. Has anyone confirmed that these are ceramic? Thanks, it seems we have a consensus.
  12. TJ, Thanks for the comments. I have no use for the old insert. It isn't in the best condition but if you would like it, PM me your address. Kurt
  13. Thanks, I used a green scotchbrite pad followed by a light rub with a polish cloth.
  14. Which inset looks closer to Gen: Top or bottom? Left or right: Wristie to start the week: And a few more: Thanks to PT for helping me out. As you recall, I dropped my watch and the bezel became an issue. PT responded to my request and I was able to secure a Case set that had been butchered by someone. The case back was caved in and the Cyclops was chipped as if a removal went all wrong. Well, it turns out that this insert is thicker than the shiny Metal one original to my watch. Also, the crystal was thicker. So, I finished the removal of the cyclops, swapped movement and case backs and viola........New and improved GMT II Ceramic CHS. Thoughts appreciated, Kurt.
  15. Prayers lifted for you and your family. Be well and thanks again. Kurt
  16. Then they are bars with caps that need to be removed. Once removed......they are useless. I had my watchmaker size mine(Pins/rivets not screws) and he made new ones out of steel rod and rolled the ends to look like rivets. Good luck.
  17. Indeed.....Tragic. Thanks for hanging in there with my prose..... TJ, I agree. Brushed just looks right. Perhaps. I'll get on it after I figure out what a "spawny git" is Who said you don't get the watch.......$$ talks ooof, what caused that? Tough chick man....
  18. Duct tape.......gotta love it.....Anyway, As I turn over the watch I see it.......the most wonderful sight you could imagine........the sweet hypnotic sweep of a Swiss heartbeat right there for all to see. Graceful, perfect. I quick grab my timing machine (Atomic clock), set the time, and wait...............1 full day later and to my amazement.......the watch has gained 3 secs since yesterday morning. So I ask you............was I lucky? Has this much maligned movement redeemed itself? Would you shed a tear as I? I know one thing, this has to be the longest explanation of: " I dropped my watch and it still works" Thanks for indulging me....I guess I'll keep it awhile.....it deserves at least that much. Enjoy your weekend, Kurt.
  19. did I mention I dropped my GMT? So now I am prepared for the surgery, Vodka, gloves, donor and screwdrivers..........then a silly thought enters my mind......you know how when as a kid, you would come across a seemingly dead critter and poke at it....as if that would re-animate it....you know....bring it back to life....well..........with surgical precision, my gloves, Vodka steadied hands and my high end Swiss screwdriver...........I foolishly give the balance a nudge........right, like. by some miracle it gonna start right up......ticking away as if nothing ever happened....pff, I wish.........but wait. what's this........it worked! Am I seeing things? Is this a dream? How much Vodka did I actually drink? I quickly turn the watch over and I see it...... I swear, If I have to come in there again.........
  20. so....anyway, a heart transplant is prepared. Movement located, prepped and ready to take....or Give one for the team. So, wiping the sweat from my brow, I locate my tools.......Caseback opener....Check, High end swiss screwdriver set.....Check. Gloves....check, Vodka........that's right Vodka......Check. First, i inspect the case for damage.......and there it is........the scar from the impact right on the 7 o'clock lug: Another view: Oh man, this looks serious.....now I am glad I didn't win the raffle for the 1675.....of course, I didn't enter, but that's beside the point. Anyway, I open the caseback........slowly at first then more quickly......my heart begins to race....what will I find......a mangled spring, perhaps a broken case clamp has lodged in the balance.........nothing appears to be out of place.....a moment of reflection now as I think back and replay the whole nauseating event over and over and over again.......I use to have very quick hands, how did I miss it as it fell to it's demise.......hell, how did I drop it to begin with.........why couldn't I leave well enough alone........a tear forms in the corner of my eye......then another.........this watch deserved much better than me......sniff! Get control of yourself....I think as I slap myself silly......whack! O.k., I deserved that.......then.....
