  1. Mea Culpa.....it was an AlphaTime Sawfish Prototype. Here is the ad from which I procured mine: XXXX://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=1770286&rid=0 Replace x' with http Great watch.....I wish I still had mine:-(
  2. I owned an Alpha Swordfish Prototype awhile back. It came with anemic hands and dial lume. I installed a dial and handset from Bill Yao and it looked just like this one. Great watch.........but I doubt Comex had anything to do with this one.
  3. My favorite Blue dial: My favorite Blue Eyes: My favorite Blue Ride:
  4. Thanks JoJo...I have seen the mod but not the detail as a how-to. Perhaps I'll give it a shot today. Any progress or improvements to the Gilt PCG 5513? Can't see enough of that one.
  5. Thanks U. The CG's were pretty choppy and uneven on the inside and the lug holes looked like a volcano top.....like they were raised around the hole itself....rather odd looking to say the least.
  6. O.k., So I am trying to help my friend sell off some of his collection. One piece is this old school MBW. Someone had started to mod it but it was rough. The lug holes were drilled, but they looked like pimples. Also, the cg's were torn up a bit too. Supposedly has a Gen crown and tube....but I have my doubts. So after an hour at my bench, here are the results: Well......how's it look? Thanks and have agreat Holiday, Kurt.
  7. Thanks guys. What are these selling for? Regards, Kurt.
  8. A good friend and past member here lost his job(made good coin at it). He has some nice gens and top quality reps. He has asked me to help him sell off some of his collection. He says he bought these V CG's for over $200.00. Is there a way to determine if they are "V" CG's? I will post pictures later this afternoon as well as ads to sell in the appropriate sections. I just want to make sure to represent the parts accurately. He says that he has a Jimmy Fu mid case as well and a The Zigmeister lumed dial. Thanks, Kurt.
  9. I am trying to help a member friend of mine sell some items since he lost his job last week. He has a case he bought as a DW for V72 Daytona project. It is unused and still has the protective plastic on the crystal and caseback. It also has the asymetrical screwdown pushers. Also, He has two supposedly "V" CG's that he says he paid over $200/ea. Is there a way to determine if they are "V" CG's? I will post pictures later this afternoon as well as ads to sell in the appropriate sections. I just want to make sure to represent the parts accurately. Note: MBW 1680 and MBW 1655 GW will be listed as well. Thanks in advance, Kurt.
  10. Well, nice watch.....I have owned a few. But as I remember, they can't be manually wound....I know, I know, it's an automatic, but there is something about manually winding a watch that I find very soothing. Also, not a sapphire glass although Seiko's Hardlex crystals are very durable and the Lume is great. Personally, I'll take a nicely modded rep sub over the Seiko. After all, if you want a "Sub" like watch......get a "Sub". The key is how happy will you be with whatever you buy. Good luck, kkurt
  11. Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry nice my friend and a great job and Kudos on the extras to R......rack him! Not that it has to be said but......have a great week.
  12. No wristie yet....but on my wrist as I type: Have a great week, Kurt
  13. Nope.....both present, clean and nicely set.
  14. Let's go someplace quiet to discuss this...........PM on the way......am I interested, pff pahlease.
  15. I hate you..........unless you are tired of looking at that hideous combo ;-)
  16. Thanks guys.......I agree with the escapement diagnosis. As I mentioned, I managed to cobble a movement together so while I appreciate the offers, I think I am good for now. Of course, if someone has a slow beat no date movement.......I'm all ears :-). JoJo, thanks again for the gesture. Not that it has to be said, but if anyone has any reservations about this board or it's members (Like JoJo, Ubi), you ain't been around long enough. Kurt.
  17. So, My MBW 5512 got here on Saturday. New and un-used....it even still had the blue film on the crown. So now here is the strange journey.....I set the time, gave the crown a few turns, it ginned right up. But then.........when I pushed the crown in....the hands took off like a helicopter. Running a 24 hour cycle in no time.....whoa! I didn't feel older, but I just watched 2 days worth of time run off on my watch in the space of 30 seconds. Now, either I time travelled forward, or there is a problem with my movement. Has this happened to anyone else? The Zigmeister, are you familiar with this issue? When I wind it, I can feel the rotor spinning and when I set the time and push in the crown.....off she goes to a time in the near future. I dug through my box-O-parts and cobbled together a movement and swapped them out. Problem was, the movement had a very long seconds hand pinion so I couldn't install the seconds hand. This morning, I clipped the pinion short, filed it round, re-installed it and "viola" seconds hand now in place. Anyway, just curious as to wether anyone else experienced this type of issue. Have a great day, Kurt.
  18. Perhaps this will put to rest the issue of wether the insert is gen or not. This is a picture from a very well known collector with untold experience collecting the most valuable of all Rolexes. All are Gen and all are different in their own way. Notice the 4th from the left.....it looks exactly like JoJo's insert with the #'s pushed out toward and over the insert's outer edge. I say JoJo's is as Gen as they come.
