  1. Prayers lifted from our group for Nikki..........
  2. I wish I still had mine:-( It is a great watch and at that price, a good buy as well. You can still get this: And save about $1000.00 ;-)
  3. In fact, there is a 14060M with boxes and papers for $2999.00 on the Rolex Forum 3 posts below the 5513. If it is vintage you want, wait for a good buy on a matte dial 5513. Patience will get you one for around $4000.00 or less if you are lucky.
  4. Well I can say from experience that a 5513 with a Gloss dial will leave you lukewarm and still desiring a true Matte dial vintage Rolex. $3400.00 with the box and bracelet is about right. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nive watch and in very good condition. A couple of things: The over polish on the clasp/case, broken box. However, a newer 14060 or 14060M can be had at that price with all boxes, papers and in the case of the 14060M, a much better movement. I don't know if I have helped, but the important thing is for you to feel that your money has been well spent. Good luck, Kurt.
  5. Very Nice JoJo........I kinda wish I hadn't torn my OP apart for the 1560 in my sub..........not really
  6. Took these on the way home... Have a great weekend, Kurt.
  7. All hands are gilt, case bevels are as they left the factory, keeping time but losing 1min/day(Hey, it was only serviced once in the 70's) and it is certainly an underline dial. I feel honored having only held this beauty.....I couldn't imagine calling it my own........o.k., I can imagine that
  8. 1963 is correct. Yes, earlier font on the original insert. The hands are original. The watch had moisture that I conclude collected on the crystal and affected the seconds hand most, the minute hand next and the hour hand least. The minute hand shows some gilt coloring at certain angles. the minute hand is pretty much completely pitted but showing a slight gold-ish color at the tip and the hour hand show moisture damage in the pitting under the gilt. Crown/tube is the original 700 twinlock is perfect condition. Bracelet is original to the watch and correctly stamped 63.....and yes, flimsy. Movement, serviced once and looking as new as possible. Yes, that is an underline.........rarity personafied :-) and yes, pre-tritium "SWISS" at 6....though some think the underline seerves as the Transition to Tritium designation. All in all, a member here will be enjoying this rare piece.........by Monday
  9. This one is going to the market at $8000.00 OBO. I'll have some better pics tomorrow without the crystal to get a clearer shot of the Rare Underline dial. Anybody got a Pile-O-Cash burning a hole in their pockets? I sure don't. BTW: This is a 1, One, Uno, single owner watch. Daughter is selling after her father(Original Owner) passed away earlier this year. Serviced only one time and as original as when it was purchased back in 1963.
  10. Next to my 1962 Franken 5512PCG: I once owned this dial: I sold it and built this Franken: And now I need The Zigmeister to make these hands and dial look original:
  11. Here is the donor watch that gave up it's Mov't for my Franken 5512, And now it gives a hand to my 1008 Zephyr: Stay tuned for the project I am completing with my watchmaker using the case from the donor as well......
  12. Man, The old style dagger/Dauphine hand and markers really exude style and class. I will Rolex would find their way back to these cues. I especially love the Red/Black datewheel....or is it all Red? Since my dial was re-done, the lume is still clean and glows. So I figure no harm in cleaning up the hands and re-luming them as well.
  13. Thanks TB, Actually the hand is Blued. Oddly, the original owner had the Hour and minute hands painted black for visibility and the seconds hand was painted Red. It was during the cleaning that the tail of the seconds hand broke. I am searching for a gold replacement so the Blued hands is a stand in. Rolex actually used both gold and blued hands for 1962-1963. regards, Kurt.
  14. Thanks Stephane, it certainly gives some defintion. I think once I clean/polish the Dauphine hands and re-lume them, the set will look better.
  15. Well, both the gold and Blued hand were used in 1962-1963. This blued hand came from my donor watch that I pulled the 1560 mov't from to build my 5512 Franken. I forgot about the handset and came across them yesterday. Kurt
  16. Birthyear 1963 Rolex Zephyr with Cal. 1560. Before: After: I hope everyone had a great weekend. Regards, Kurt.
  17. Thanks, I really need to find a seconds hand......no ;uck yet :-(
  18. Humble my ass....I've owned two of those and wish I still had one. Very nice indeed.
  19. Today from my birthyear 1963: Tomorrow a project watch: Enjoy your weekends, Kurt.
  20. Amen Brother....just check my screen name........No Gen watch is worth the new price. Used gens at great prices are always a good find, but the variety of Great reps, that with care, will last as long as you keep them is mind numbing......
