  1. It's just the one Delrin brake, and it's been in use since the 1970s. You don't even see it on the display back models, since it gets swapped out for a prettier metal piece. And if you're a Speedmaster purist of the Moonie cult, it's a moot point, as only the column-wheel Cal.321 is the one true movement! As for reactions to the THC's tiny engine, I'm guessing that displacement fetishists aren't limited to the automotive world. The concerns about the chrono module, on the other hand, are well founded. Here in the Philippines, the going rate for the Heritage is ~USD3500 from an AD, which is considerably lower than it was as recently as September. Prices were close to USD4000 back then.

    Dark Egi

Very stunning, and more than big enough for me.
  3. Yeah, and as a corollary, I'm seeing a lot more bracelets being sold sans endlinks!
  4. That looks fantastic! I'm very tempted to get one of these and start saving for the gen bits. (And once I have enough, I bet Omega raises prices on its parts again!)
  5. Very interesting results, Chi! I'm guessing you'll be trying it on a black dial soon?
  6. Here, but as panerai153 says, prices will be generally higher than what you'll find on eBay.
  7. Well, the only similar REAL product is the Bodygroom, but I've no idea how it will cope with those of us who resemble Bob Hoskins or Tony Shalhoub!
  8. Jeez... Only one Omega in the thread? Make it two:
  9. Certainty is overrated. I vote for "A Sinn watch".
  10. Rosnik: Your MC is looking very good. I like the Oyster deployant!
  11. Superb, Chi! I love the textures and overall look. Remind me to ask you where in the Cousins catalog you found those hands!
  12. The shield is held in place by pegs lodged in a pair of holes. Per ChiMan12's advice, I was able to poke it out with a needle, make the necessary adjustments, then affix it with the least amount of glue possible. And if you happen to have a gen Tudor dial that you're willing to sacrifice, you could pluck the shield off that! The one on DW's is a bit thick, though not enough for me to mind.
  13. I use a Phillips GorillaGroom with optional BackScratcher attachment, and the Gilette SmoothBaller Excel. And a live badger.
  14. Great stuff, automatico! Your 1016 Frankenstein posts are required reading for anyone considering a vintage Explorer project. The absence of photos screens out the unserious. I recently took out the Sea-Gull 2824-alike in my 16234 franken, and swapped in a 2472 plucked from a Rado Horse. Both movements work fine, but the old ETA just has more... character (plus a suitably low beat). I think it's got more heft, too, but I should probably weigh it to be sure.
  15. alligoat is incredibly helpful, and one of the good guys here on RWG. Without an opportunity to pay back, the most we can do is pay forward. Merry Christmas!
  16. Merry Christmas, RWG! Noel: You can read more about the Tudor chronographs by searching under '7032' or 'DW 7032'.
  17. The build is looking very good. Great photography, too! If I had to pick one nit, it's that the Tudor shield looks crooked in the next-to-last picture. I only bring it up because I had the same issue on my dial, and it slowly drove me crazy until it was fixed.

    My 5513

Beautiful work, Sly! It looks very authentic to my eyes.
  19. Here you go: Merry Christmas!
  20. The hands and dial design suggest that it's a Rolex Commando, but I've no idea what happened to the text in the lower half (which should say "COMMANDO" and nothing else).
  21. 7032 for now, but is it festive enough for tonight?
