  1. Congrats and enjoy!! Have a blast and enjoy the time with your soon-to-be-wife, family & friends! It's going to be a great day!
  2. Thanks guys! I hope to have time this weekend to stain it. Brass hardware is ordered from Gerstner and the wrist rests are shipping from Canada.
  3. Nice looking Dweller Hike!!! Tudor 9411 for Friday:
  4. That one is by far my favorite!!! I love the ending bit. They at least thanked you for your contributions to the forum (as if that was going to sway you) @Migge - sorry you have had to deal with this sort of thing. I have been pretty lucky thus far with my sales dealings, but it does look like there have been some nightmare deals going on lately. As Lani keeps stating, know your seller I guess and for the sellers, it's easy enough to ignore the ignorant
  5. The bench is now finished and I just need to stain it, add the brass hardware (drawer knobs & handles) and add the wrist rests. It's looking really good so far. I used Red Oak with a really nice flamey grain. Here's some pics of the progress so far:
  6. Congratulations to you and your family!!! She's beautiful! Nice wrist shot too!
  7. BT - you europeans get so many better cars than we do here in North America! I love the E-Class, but a 2.0L engine supercharged engine would be so much better (with the cost of gas being so high!) Also love the Peugot's as well!
  8. Thanks for that info Klocklind. Do you have a pic of what you are referring to? I took a look at the thread on RG, but I do not see what you are referring to. Nevermind. I just looked at my TB CG and I see what you are talking about. From the point that touches the crown, it curves upward towards the guard, but then curves back in. You are saying that from the top, where the straight edge is, you shouldn't see the arm curving towards the case (which I can clearly see). Thanks!
  9. Quick question for the community. I got a new crown for my PAM 112h and I am wondering if there is a special trick for removing the stem from my current crown? Also wondering where I can get a few spares. I know ofrei has them, but I am wondering if there is a better source? Or maybe a member or two has some I could buy? Thanks!
  10. Wow Cats. That looks really sharp! Is that 111h gen?
  11. Pete what is the correct finish for the lever? Is it not supposed to be brushed as the rest of the CG?
  12. I used to have an Infiniti G35 Coupe 6 speed with the Brembo brakes. That was a very, VERY, fun car!!! A little off topic, but anyone know where I can find a nice set of black Sparco Cromodora 16", 16 spoke rims? Looking for a set for my 95 Toyota
  13. Does any other strap maker make a similar strap but the standard length? 115/75 I tried on my friends strap, and it is just a touch too long
  14. Mainly out of curiosity, but is there a PAM 112h case back that isn't H0035/2000? Did anyone make a better case back?
  15. Very funny and well done!
  16. Looks similar to that one, yes Denz! Although his has the submarine polished buckle on it (which is quite nice!)
  17. Hi folks, Just had to post this. I bought a really nice 112h for a friend of mine and he wanted a nice strap for it. I mentioned I had heard good things about Heroic 18. He went ahead and bought the Italian Grained Black with ecru hand stitching with Submarine buckle from the "Vulcan" section. It just arrived today and I have to say this is one stunning strap! It is by far the softest, most flexible strap I have ever seen or felt!!! Sorry, no pics, but if you go to Heroic 18's website and select the Vulcan straps, you will see it. He bought the black one.
  18. Thanks Drulee! I think that will do the trick. I guess that's another good use for my staking tool set. There is a nice little flat end punch in it that will work perfectly. One other quick question. Is the pin top supposed to be nice and polished?
  19. That's pretty cool southcoast! Not a sweep, but nice functionality!
  20. Also the Seiko Spring Drive has a brilliant sweep of the seconds hand. It is a very odd hybrid, using an automatic wind system, and the battery controls a clutch mechanism to release the spring tension resulting in a fantastic sweep. I guess it's not really a quartz, but it's very cool technology and it does require a battery
  21. A watch that keeps good time is the primary function. Secondly, I like the watch to have a good look and feel. The cost is irrelevant and the subtle details do not matter that much to me. That being said, I really enjoy trying to make a watch "closer" to the real thing. It's not so I can pass it off as a gen, but more of a challenge to see if it can be built with available parts. The reps that I have collected this short 9 months (or built) feel really good and sturdy and were a fraction of the cost of the real thing. I've had opportunities to evaluate the gen's, and IMO there is no need for their extremely high cost. It just doesn't make sense to me at all. At the end of the day, I love watches, and reps are what I choose to afford. I could save up and buy the real thing, but I'd have a hard time justifying it to myself.
  22. Hi folks, Picked up a Torobravo CG which arrived today in the mail. Seems quite nice. Don't have the watch with me today, but in looking at it, I am wondering if I should attempt to mod the CG pin before I install it? I have taken a couple of macros of the CG for reference. I am just wondering if the pin is supposed to be flush with the CG or if it is supposed to stick up a little bit? Any opinions would be appreciated!
