Here's another one. A friend of mine also bought a Bellows, but he got the Nikon PB-6 with the PB-6E extension system. Gives a total of 438mm of extension or about a 1 to 8 magnification amount. Below is a photo of a $10 bill with Alexander Hamilton:
And here is a picture of Alexander Hamilton's eye:
Oh and one other thing.....I have Windows XP installed on my Macbook running VM Ware Fusion. I hadn't updated my windows stuff in a while and thought I would start that on Friday of last week. After 5 reboots and two days of downloading, it just finished today. Ridiculous! I had forgotten how much I hate doing Security Patch updates on the PC.
IMO there's nothing wrong at all with Apple's closed business model. They build products that work and app developers have to adhere to Apple's stringent guidelines to ensure their products continue to work. I love my mac's and I hate my PC's. What's even weirder is using Windows XP in Boot Camp or virtual in VM Ware Fusion, the Windows stuff works better and is more reliable then using it on my actual PC's.
The iPad will find it's niche and it will definitely do well, but I will wait to see what they come up with on version 2 or 3 before I go down that path. There's aren't enough gains to warrant using an iPad over my Mac Laptop.
+1 on the wood jig! Oh, and the watch looks awesome too
Are you going to be selling the jig's? I would imagine a few modders around here would really love to get one.
Does Clarks have a direct buy website, or only an eBay store? Did a quick search here, but I'm in a bit of a rush so I'm hoping a helpful member will just give the info to me
Thanks my friend!! It's a very special piece with some great contributions from some amazing members here! It will be a valued watch for a very long time!!!
Just curious. Is anyone using Helicon Focus Software? Looks quite promising and with a focusing rail on the PB-4 bellows, could be quite fun to do Super Macro shots without any depth of field focusing issues.
This picture of the Nikon 135mm f/4.0 Bellow Lens was taken using 21 shots and then they were focus stacked using Helicon Focus Lite.
The really good macro extension tubes are quite nice as they do carry through the electrical contacts from the lens to the camera allowing autofocus and metering to work very nicely. How do you like them J?
Actually I'm quite keen on that Microset too! I know that Avitt has one and reported good things about it. He said you definitely want the clamping sensor with it though, which pushed the price to $450.00
Super awesome guys! This is an amazing community of human beings and the thoughtfulness and generosity is unparalleled! Congrats K on your new acquisition and a big to you Ubi!
Wow! I can't believe this thread has reached 2 pages!!! Thanks for all the tips guys, but as I mentioned, we stopped after 4 days. Good ol' fashioned eat less food, several times a day with exercise tends to do the trick
Unfortunately, with the Nikon system, metering does not work at all. You cannot set the D40 to aperture priority when the lens is reversed. The camera complains and the screen displays a warning indicating that there is no lens attached. You can only set the camera to full manual to get it to work.
There is a work around - but I haven't gotten to that part yet
