  1. Understandably a favorite! It's stunning Ubi! Nice mods so far! Looking forward to the progress on this one! Definitely a favorite of mine!
  2. Can't seem to take this one off!!! It almost feels weird to wear anything else now!
  3. Ok folks. A lot of people have given me grief over this so it's time to finally watch this movie. I do love Sci Fi movies, so it's amazing that I haven't seen this yet. My question is, for a first time viewing, should I watch the Directors Cut or the newer Final Cut with more stuff in it? Advice would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Nice composition! Which DSLR did you get?
  5. Awesome job ChiMan! My all time favorite watch as well!
  6. Since I'm coming to you guys, anywhere works for me. Downtown is probably best as it's easily accessible for me. I might just go to Yorkville and take the subway into downtown so somewhere along Younge or nearby would be ideal for me.
  7. Stunning work!!! The display case back really show's the movement off quite nicely! It's a beautiful watch for sure!!
  8. Very, very nice Ubi! The aged hands look fantastic!! Are the endlinks a little off?
  9. Very very cool! I really like what he did with that one. The no CG looks awesome and the blue pearl and seconds hand are a nice little subtle change. Very cool!
  10. Man they went really high!!! $5,100.00 for a 1035 movement???
  11. Too bad you can't make it my friend. We are wrist twins after all! It would have been fun to swap some watches around!
  12. I'm with TJ. My Tudor practically lives on my wrist lately! It's so light and comfortable. Easy to read and all around great daily wearer. Next would be my Franken DateJust: And my third is my PAM 112h
  13. Ah yes, the good old BBS days. I was on GENie all the way through college on an old 8088 XT PC with amber/monochrome monitor and a 14.4k modem. Of course, there were serious moderators back then and the forums were quite informative and very, very clean!
  14. It amazes me, living in Los Angeles, how many people think that Toronto is on the West Coast!!! Cracks me up every time!! I even saw a car full of Americans at the Niagara Falls border crossing with ski's on ski racks in the middle of July!
  15. I kind of feel the same way Freddy. However, looking at the movement, as well as the nearly destroyed dial, it looks as though that watch has seen much, much better days.
  16. For compiling I am sure it is just fine, but for anything graphics intensive, IMO, the air just doesn't cut it. And being able to fit in an envelope really is a requirement for me. My 13" macbook also fits into the same sort of envelope that Apple was advertising the Air fitting into - it just weighs more Not knocking the Air. It has it's place, but I just feel that you should maximize your computing power when buying a new machine.
  17. Very nice work J! It would be really perfect if you could find a source for the correct bracelet for this one! (Not sure where you would find such a thing in repdom, but it would be cool!) Anyways, big for taking the time to experiment and see what you can get! Also, nicely done on the caseback fix!
  18. B....I share your pain to a certain degree. Here's a couple of thoughts: 1. Macbook Air - while very light weight, very underwhelmed when it comes to processing power. It is (aside from the new iPad), the slowest product Apple makes currently. 2. 17" Macbook Pro - unbelievable computing power, but just to big to be considered a laptop IMO. The thing is an absolute beast! I personally own an older black Macbook 13" 2.4GHz 4GB RAM & 500GB 7200 RPM SATA Drive and it suits my daily needs just fine. Since I have started to get more and more into photography, I definitely miss the extra video ram that that Macbook Pro's offer. Since the new machines were announced on Tuesday, I have found myself lusting after a new 15" Macbook Pro with the 512MB Video RAM. That, to me, would fit the bill nicely for day to day home and office use. I am still thinking that down the road a 2nd Gen iPad (assuming they actually listen to the users for the next release) would be the best option for home/travel internet surfing. Anyways, that's just my 0.02
  19. Avitt can do bead blasting as well I believe. Of course, it would be best just to ask him about it Or maybe he will pop in on this thread
  20. Project X Designs had a nice Limited Edition Submariner that was bead blasted with the CG's removed and no cyclops. It looked really sharp! I love the bead blasted satin look. It definitely takes the look up a notch or two from the standard brushed or polished IMO.
  21. Mid Case Case Back 1035 Movement They also have a dial, but it looks pretty rusted up.
  22. Oh man, that sucks!! Sorry to hear that.
  23. I believe avitt has bead blasted a watch or two. He posted a good thread on repairing an old watch with bead blasting here
