  1. Damn Pete!!! A few weeks ago here you are posting about the changes in the forum, etc, etc, etc..... blah, blah, blah.... Then BAM!!!! You drop this beauty on us!!!!! Nicely done mate! Congrats on a superb build and the attention to detail is very evident in this one! Bravo sir!
  2. WOW!!! Two full sets of NOS 5517 dials & hands???? Holy cow! And check out that vintage rolex caseback opener!
  3. Kit is on it's way! Thanks for letting me know about this!
  4. Another fine example! Congrats. A question for you. Do you know how hard it was to install the gen crystal? I have heard that it doesn't fit properly without some modding, so I am curious what was done to yours to allow it to fit.
  5. Thanks for the always informative post R!!! I had to install a new 2nd hand pinion in my ETA movement and it was also shocking. The original one was clearly a longer post that was just cut off, but at least it was above the jewel.
  6. +1,000,000 on Ziggy's advice. Mine was a very good example of that. Count on spending a good amount of money on a decent service before even attempting to install the movement.
  7. the DW kit is pretty decent. The bezel is polished which is incorrect, but not to difficult to fix. I just brushed mine with a titanium brushing pad and it came out pretty good IMO. The phong kit is better, but a lot more expensive. Here's a pic of mine: And here's the brushed bezel: Note that the DW kit does not come with a bracelet. I got a 7836 bracelet with 380 endlinks from Mary.
  8. There is one available right now on eBay for a buy it now price of $250.00. Seller says the 4th wheel (seconds hand pinion) needs replacing but is including it for free. Claims it is an unmarked 7734 from a Tudor watch. Since this hasn't been replicated, I would guess it is probably gen, but not from a Tudor. The price is pretty decent though. Have it serviced and you would be good to go. eBay auction is here Or there is also this one on eBay for $399.00 that is in a complete watch. Does have the 45 min counter in it which is a nice bonus! 13. That was insanely brilliant!!! Good find!!!
  14. Good to see you back S! It's been quiet without you around!
  15. Good god that watch is amazing looking on that bracelet!!!! I loved my Santos, but I didn't wear it much because of the leather strap! If I had one on that bracelet I think I'd wear it a lot more!!! I sincerely hope someone chimes in on this thread to share the super secret source of that bracelet!!!!
  16. Ok so we see this all the time: List of mods..... bracelet softened. I know what they are referring to. Rep bracelets typically are quite sharp on the edges everywhere and definitely not gen like. What I'd like to know is, what is involved in softening the bracelet? Filing down the edges? Sanding down the edges? Putting down feathers on the edges? Anyone have any good tutorials on how to soften the edges of a bracelet? I have some good tuts on lubing them etc, but I haven't been able to see one on how to soften it. Thanks folks!
  17. Then get one of these The Diver 125. Measures to 125 ATM
