Thanks buddy!!! Well, turns out that you were correct. Although the 8000/3 part number is the same, this is NOT the same part at all. The seller was asking me what the difference was between the 8000 and the 8000/3? Was this ever established?

I just contacted the seller and he says the part he has is 8.90mm in height, so that should be the correct one, shouldn't it? I guess we'll find out soon enough as I had already bought one

That's the issue with the A7750 a lot of times. No matter which one you get, you are never guaranteed that it will work for long. Best bet is to pay to have it properly serviced and then it should give you years of reliability.

I put this in the GD section to help get a little more views in the hopes that this great community has some suggestions I can try out. My IWC Regulateur has died. It has a modified A6498 in it. When I wind it, it feels just like normal, and I can feel the tension build up resistance while winding. BUT, the main spring is not releasing tension on the movement. The balance does not spin at all. If I give it a little shake, the balance wheel turns a few times but then just stops. Any ideas where the problem might be? Also, how do I release the main spring tension? Please help!!!!

It is unfortunate that some gen owners can only appreciate the amount of money they spent on the watch and yet know absolutely nothing about it or what makes it special. I think that is the real difference. The gen owners on this forum have a real appreciation for the watches they own and wear and the rep/gen owners really appreciate craftsmanship at any level. Doesn't mean the owner spent $$$$$ on the watch. The amount that was spent, whether a small amount or a large amount is never really the issue (or even discussed for that matter). I must say I am proud to be a member of such a large community of real "losers"
