  1. Nice review. So it comes with the 236K back. Oh well, may as well just order the 236 then, and get the 24/20mm bracelet Any chance of a pic of the back, and profile showing the date pusher? I thought I saw a pic that showed the date pusher outer ring was hexagonal in shape, while the gen is round, isn't it? Also, I wonder if a slight shaving of the stem/hexagonal tube, would bring the crown closer to the case and eliminate that slight bulge of the CG lever?
  2. A 24/20 bracelet, ok I'm impressed
  3. I believe that was a custom DLC'd one done by Avitt. You'll have to get a regular rep 250 and send it to him, to get one that nice.
  4. Spam, spam, spam, spam ... spam pam pam pam PAM PAM PAM
  5. From the pics, I'm not too impressed with the luming. Too green. How long does it last?
  6. Very good info cskent69, thanks for your comment. I have a feeling they will use the old 7753 rep Daylight cases with the shorter bezel etc. on the 196. Either that or they'll be putting out a 196 with QR system
  7. If you do decide to do that, I'll take it. Wouldn't mind checking one of the movements out but already have an ETA7753 250 and don't really care for any of the other Daylight A7753 reps offered (that is until they release the 196).
  8. Gen 196 dial is completely flat, no recessed dials at all. I think that is what may be delaying the 196 A7753 release, the probably goofed and made them recessed again (just speculation of course)
  9. IHNSHO, the only gen Panerai straps worth buying are the Gator ones, and even they are over priced. For the money of a gen strap you can buy a couple of much nicer custom ones. Plus I think a nice custom strap makes the rep look even less like a rep.
  10. Yup, I know. They just got me on a bad day.
  11. Ok, so far absolutely useless and silly remarks. Anyone out there have anything relevant to say. As for the $1 and $1.25 comments, if either of you have any of these lying around I'll give $10 each for them, that's a 1000% markup guys, so jump on it. Seriously guys, what a bunch of silly posts, reminds of people who just post to increase their count. I mean if you attempted to use your Grey matter, parts alone would probably get a couple of hundred dollars. ChiMan, my apologies to you if your post was meant to put across that you'd pay more than what the first poster said
  12. I'm looking for some input on what you guys think the old case style A7750 196 (better dial) would be worth now, if anything since there is supposed to be an A7753 version in the pipelines (but hasn't yet materialized). I was going to put one up for sale, but procrastination got the better of me and ..... well you know what happened So now I'm debating whether it is even worth it to put it up, or maybe I should just keep and use the movement as a backup, and maybe down the line stick in an A7753 with dial (I'm sure they'll eventually start showing up separately for sale). Your thoughts ....
  13. I feel ripped off, I just checked all my PAM casebacks, and not one has the E0117/1950 serial number Lots of H0035s though
  14. Unfortunately TB (ToroBravo) doesn't make Titanium CGs, only SS ones. So when will we be able to send you our CPs for modding
  15. I don't think Waccex/BOB sell genuine Crocodile, and that StrappedForTime link is to a "Gator GRAIN" leather strap (not real Gator, just a print).
  16. Did you do the waterproofing yourself, or did it come that way from the rep dealer? Or are you talking about a gen 196
  17. Thanks, I'll try to send another email in a couple of weeks if he hasn't contacted me by then. Just don't understand why his PM box is saying that it won't take any messages from me.
  18. When viewing any picture posted, you should take into account that many are taken using the macro mode of digital cameras. This mode will often make the bezels look tall, lugs stumpy, cases taller, cases shorter, etc. In other words, it distorts the pic. For accuracy you have to be sure that the pics you are viewing are not using that mode. This also goes for colour, when you are trying to judge dial or lume colours. In this case it is the colour profile of the picture that has an affect on what you see, in addition to how your monitor is calibrated, etc. So unless you know the pic has been properly profiled, and your monitor calibrated for that profile, the colours you see will almost always be slightly off...
  19. Maybe these will help:
  20. Is he even back from holidays?
  21. Ah, so they did screw up the dial again. So it looks like there may be an extended wait for 196 lovers Think I'll just go ahead and order the 251 for now then. If anyone has ordered a 250, can yo confirm that it has the correct Knnnn/2800 serial numbers, since the CB pics on the Cartels' sites have these numbers wiped out for the 250 only.
  22. It seems that the later (post I) series may not have the cutouts. For those not sure what I was referring to, here is a pic of the underside of a 236I showing the cutouts that the bracelet inserts into.
  23. Hey, I just noticed. Isn't the K series of the 250, Knnnn/2800 not 500? EDIT: milesd just corrected me, the 236k is a run of 500, so this is correct. But the lugs are still wrong for a 236, and since I'm sure most will be using it without the bracelet, a la 250 .....
  24. The gen 236 also has notches in the lugs for the bracelet to be screwed into. Which is why I find it funny that they bothered putting "236 gen used for building rep" Their 236 is just the 250 with their standard 24/24 old style bracelet instead of a rubber or fake gator one. I'd say most buying it will just sell the bracelet to offset the cost, which makes it an even better deal
  25. Guys, doesn't that look like the incorrect lower profile bezel that was used on the past ETA 7753 offering? It may just be the angles, but I'd swear it is. Everything else looks great though.
