  1. never heard of a 186 or 092 with a Swiss movement. What "U.S. Seller" are you talking about? As most just buy from the dealers here and then re-sell for increased amount. I wouldn't trust anyone claiming the two PAMs you mention have Swiss movements.
  2. Really? I would have thought that this would lead to it running slower, not faster, as there would be more friction. Anyway, it is a brand new movement, so I'd hope it has not been coming on for a while Will be doing that this evening, thanks
  3. So I had a movement swapped from one case to another, but now it is running 2 minutes fast a day. Before it kept near perfect time, and nothing went wrong during the swap. Does it just need regulating, or is it a sign of impending doom It's an A7750 GMT movement. What do you think? And if it just needs adjusting, how can I go about doing this? Thanks
  4. Tried that, but I found it hard too see the hands This one's a keeper. I'm making arrangements to get The Zigmeister to relume it, as that's all that's missing. Talkin' about gorgeous movements, nice avatar.
  5. Since I love the movement of this watch, I decided to put a display back on the 192 I bought from a great member here Here it is in all its glory, with a BlueRadish strap. Let me know if you like the display back or think I should put the solid titanium one back on. By the way I got the idea from a genuine tantalum PAM that had a display back put on. Here are the pics of the other gen tantalum PAM model I found:
  6. I took some more pics of the DSN 088 (thanks to mellobud for doing tha fix) after I put a new Sead1999 Croc strap, I just received, on it. It looks like it's going to be running for a long time to come : And now for my first attempt at taking some lume shots: By the way, I can attest to the fact that this is a torch. I woke up in the middle of the night, put it under a lamp for a few seconds, and used it to make my way to the can
  7. I do believe you have to email him for that info
  8. Unfortunately his QC has been lacking lately, I received two from him this month, just had the movements switched, as one arrived broken. During the switch it was noted that neither gasket had been siliconed or greased so I doubt they would have passed the 3ATM tests.
  9. FGD, I just picked up DSN's 082 v2 dial - what are your thought on that one, I'll take some pics if you like.
  10. Funny you should say that, I received this in the mail about two months ago, and wasn't even expecting it Well, finders keepers Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear that - I haven't been around long enough to know who Pamfried was, lucky for me
  11. Well I'm about to perform a few transplants, which have turned my 089 into an organ factory I figured before doing this I'd post some pics of it "au naturel" as I've put a lot into this movement and was my fave for quite a while. Please note that the tick by the "18" at the 9 o'clock position, seems to have bubbled a bit, and it has been suggested that the dial originally was missing the tick, then at some point an owner tried to remedy this by adding this mark. Unfortunately, I don't know the original dealer the watch is from. I've put a lot into this piece (especially considering I had no experience in taking apart watches before receiving it). When I received it the second hand was jamming against the GMT hand, so I had to re-seat the seconds hand - twice Plus I've switched the original bezel, with a new "low profile" DSN one. And I did a lot of work re-finishing the case - it had lots of scratches on it. Unfortunately, the second time that I re-set the seconds fixed the jamming problem, but introduced a new more serious one. I screwed up the keyless on it while re-assembling it. Too much pressure on the stem release button I presume. Although it still keeps great time, the stem can't be engaged to set the time or date, so I've decided to do the transplants and have a look at the keyless again after removing the dial. Thanks for looking
  12. Can't help with the Hindi But in my experience google translate it terrible, it may be useful for short phrases or a word or two. But most of the time the translation has a completely different meaning, so don't rely on it.
  13. Would like to know where I can get these rings. Also, do the rings vary quite a bit from case to case - ie DSN case, cartel case, etc.? Thx
  14. PayPal may not protect you, but your credit card company should.
  15. Probably won't help, but I have shaken a watch that arrived in this state before, without the watch starting up. What I did was, put a two fingers together (II) and give it a couple of sturdy taps on the case back, this seemed to get things going for me on those 6497 movements. Whatever you do, don't try to wind it further.
  16. You're almost there You have to use the links that start with "[image", and just paste them directly into your post - don't use the insert image command from the toolbar. Bingo, now you've got it. I probably should have PM'd you with the directions, I'll probably get a slap on the wrist from the Admin
  17. The easiest way is to make sure they have been resized to, say around 800x600 pixels. Open up a PhotoBucket dot com account, upload the images there, press "Return to album", move your mouse over the image, a box will appear, click on the text that starts with "[image", highlight the entire text, then paste the complete text into your post. If this is too complicated, and I know it can be to some. PM me your email address and I'll arrange to put the pics on my PhotoBucket account and just send you the code to add to the post.
  18. I think you're mixing up sub-dials with date wheels. If so, take a look at this: That's what a sunken date wheel looks like If I'm mistaken, ehh I just wanted to post a pic of my 250 anyway
  19. Thanks for the tip, I looked in the local online yellow pages and there is no shortage of Laser Engraving Companies up here in Toronto. So I'm going to get make a list of some which are located in the areas I frequent and will start visiting them next week. This weekend we've got the Greek festival going on so it's lot of Ouzo and Roasted Lamb, shattered plates and drunken friends (the only time this combination ever works well is when you're dealing with Greeks )

Try jpc8118 dot com, or tt88time dot com - a lot of members swear by them. Personally, I've never ordered from them so can't verify. I have emailed the first one, though, and he's responded very quickly.
  21. You've got to be kidding, "fairly decent" and "crappy pics"? You're pulling our legs, right? Plus, where did you get the watch from, that's the best CG I've seen in a while. Please detail your CG modding procedure. This was a joke, right?
  22. Alright we've all heard how indispensable Rodico is when working on your watch. What I'd like to know is just how many things (the more inventive the better) do members us it for. Pleas let us know. Here are the most common ones that I've come across, to get things started: Cleaning hands Moving hands into place Acting as a replacement for dial feet (not sure whether this was a good idea) Moving screws into place Removing smudges Removing excess oil Chewing on to pass the time ..... Also, what is the best procedure to remove smudges and marks from movements with Rodico?
  23. I'm sorry, but I really don't understand how I ended up on your blocked list ??? I honestly can't imagine what I could have done to be put on. I'm extremely confused right now.
  24. I was thinking about looking for and using a local engraver to put the missing serial numbers on a titanium caseback and a 250 caseback. I'd probably try to get the H series style of engraving. Has anyone had this done before? How did it turn out, and do you have pics? Thx
  25. The genuine has white seconds hand.
