  1. Congratulations! My DSN 088 and DSN 228 have just left Canada customs, so I'm not going to get much sleep and will be hanging by the windows looking for that truck the next day or two. If you haven't put up pics yet, let us know you're first impressions at least. This is supposed to be his new improved version, so hopefully he's taken care of all the issues from before (the hour hand size, the bezel design, the colour of the markers and number on the dial and the cyclops/date font problem). Here's crossing my fingers.
  2. Sold me a great strap, which he shipped promptly. Would definitely not hesitate buying from him. Rating system was down when i entered this.

  3. Have you tried Davidsen/DSN? A lot of members say he has the best ti case sets available right now. Also, if you get the case from another source, he sells accurate backs seperatel (around $20).
  4. Pugwash, I just had a look at your posts count. Let me guess, 12359 of those posts are pics of your 111h. Great desktop pic, though.
  5. Alright, I was waiting for a flight the other day, so I decided to do some surfing of rep sites for a quick laugh. Well I came across an 089 with a "solid titanium" bracelet and book marked it for later scrutiny. I came across that bookmark just now and had a closer look at the images on the site (Link to 089 with ti bracelet on Sinowatches). It was obviously a rep pictured (was even missing the tick by the GMT 18 hour), but was that a "solid titanium" bracelet attached? And, if it was, is it a rep bracelet, or a gen used to sucker you in? First, the $235 price tag seems way too cheap if the watch is as claimed. Next, the deployant is stamped "Stainless Steel" - but is that just he deployant parts? And finally, non of the pictures show the front side of the bracelet - what are they trying to hide? I'd guess they are hiding the fact that it is a stainless steel bracelet attached. I searched here to find some info on the dealer's reputation, but found mixed feedback. One trusted member has said that they have purchased from them with no problems. Others say the dealer used to be Hont's partner, whatever that means (nothing to me ). And the Amdins seem to have a problem with "new" members pushing their goods. So do "solid titanium" replica bracelets even exist? How about "repped" solid titanium deployant clasps? __________________
  6. Neither, it would just be nice to have a one stop online dealer for all my purchases, that would get them delivered in a day or two, instead of a week or two; and that doesn't have a minimum $20 charge for delivery, when you're only getting a $0.50 screw or $2 stem - I mean, come on, they would still make a good profit on the shipping and handling charge if they charged a couple dollars over regular postage (which is probably less than a dollar). I've got to get into the habit of using this board's search feature I'm so used to RG's search system, which is absolutely terrible, that I keep forgetting that the one here is really very useful and has some good features. Thanks for the link and reminder
  7. Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out. As for "googling", you just stated the problem yourself I already spend too much time on these forums I really don't want spend even more time doing searches that I'm sure current members have done thousands of times before. Just trying to tap into that existing knowledge base
  8. Most of us know about Ofrei, CousinsUK and eBay, but there must be others with good deals. So, if you feel like sharing your secrets, let us know. I'm curious as to what people are using as sources for their Rodico, watch oil, screws, etc. I'm especially interested in sources for Canadian members. I've had to order stems from the Netherlands, screws for a 6497 movement from the U.K. and Rodico from Egypt. There must be a reasonably priced alternative in North America.
  9. True, but all it takes is an email with what you want - he usually get back to you the same day (depending on Hong Kong time). He only accepts PayPal though. To give you an idea of his regular pricing as of July 12th, 2009 - PVD 44mm case manual/automatic $35, Sandwich dials $10, hands $8, 6497 swan neck $30 ... You get the idea. As far as I know these are without any price breaks for multiple purchases and all include shipping in their price Hope that helps. DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with, or making any money from recommending him (I don't get a discount for mentioning him, and don't even let him know that I have done so) But I do wish that I had this information when I was looking for sources, as it would have saved me a bunch of emails and surfing
  10. If you're just after an "old style" case and don't mind getting a 7750 with it, check out T4D/PWC, he has them available for around $250, I believe - you'll have to check for yourself, though.
  11. In the future you may also want to try Jackson Tse dot com, for homage parts. Same parts as siswatch for less. For example, $10 for sterile dial (shipping included), $30 for 6497 (faux swan neck, shipping included). I will say that siswatch (GETAT) does have a bigger selection, though. I don't think you can go wrong with either for the price.
  12. When did you get your 088? A few people have said hat he has fixed these issues in his latest offerings.
  13. Cartel lume, sub-dial and price make me say DSN ... just my 2 cents ..
  14. Where's the shot of the 1000m CG lever
  15. Congrats! Is that the only strap it came with? If it is, I think you should try it with some others. If you like I have quite a lot of "rep" straps that I have removed from my PAMs to put custom straps on instead, and I'll happily send you a couple for free so you can get a feel of the different possibilities. If you're interested just PM me.
  16. I just faced the same decision and chose DSN, I just couldn't justify the $140 difference (PC's price is without shipping I think). Plus DSN has actually made improvements to his 088 which aren't pictured on his site, so you may want to ask for updated photos.
  17. If you do a search on 7750, you'll find a lot of people complained about this. Some also notice a vibration coming from the watch occasionally - personally I like it when this happens I also believe there is a thread that tells you how one small drop of high temp grease can cure this - I think it may have been posted by The Zigmeister.
  18. Will this forum section is my last chance, I've tried every other place where I thought people in the know would be hanging out. Does anybody know what the correct inside diameter and thickness, or part number, for the o-ring/gasket used in 44mm Panerai rep cases? Thanks
  19. Well I always liked options, so here you go: 1) Systems Co-ordinator for one of the largest non-profit agencies in a major city; 2) Drug lord, respected by most, feared by some, hated by others; 3) Partner in a security and privacy company; 4) Owner of a computer consulting business; 5) Inventor 6) Hot dog salesman 7) Retiree Felon 9) Most, if not all, of the above, at some point in my life 10) None of the above, I'm really just a government employee who likes day dreaming during office hours Take your pick, I'll never tell EDIT: Hah, I was just going to replace the "8" and ")" for the eighth choice, as it ended up being a smiley symbol, but it made me laugh when I saw which "career" it ended up beside.
  20. Humans are obsolete and unnecessary, prepare to submit to your Druleean overlords
  21. Believe me, I spent ages looking for a ti PAM with tobacco sandwich dial, then I spent more time trying to find out if anybody could brand my dial - apart from having doing it myself I've had no luck. Would you mind taking a close-up picture of your dial at an angle, so I can see how deep the ridges on the numbers/marks are? Mine are very deep, but yours looks closer to the genuine sandwich dial design. Thx
  22. Too bad it's not a sandwich dial
  23. Could someone please post the O-ring/Gasket size (inside diameter and thickness) used in 44mm PAM cases. Thank-you EDIT: Oops, wrong area. Sorry, I thought I was in the "Knowledge Base" forum when I posted this, could the admin move it there.
  24. I thought I'd already given you a link on another board, but I guess it must have been someone else , so here is that link - click me. And if you have any questions about the dealer or the actual watch, I suggest emailing them and/or waiting for someone more helpful to leave a post
  25. Added three more DSN case measurements, posted on another forum. Also identify the THICKEST and thinnest cases at the bottom of the table.
