Thanks! The 390 case set Josh sent me was so messed up I basically threw it away and kept the guts for this. 177L guts are going into another project.. probably a DLC case.

Nice review and pics! I too just picked up a 42mm "version 5" PO. It's a great rep.. hopefully the crown/tube will last a little while before replacing. (I hear they strip easily) Anyways.. went over to a friend's house who has the gen and held them side-by-side. The first thing we noticed was the pearl was slightly different, the caseback wasn't quite as nicely textured around the sea monster (wouldn't know unless side-by-side), HE valve was slightly bigger and the chamfering around the bezel was slightly different. In the wild.. it's hard to tell it's a rep unless you have the gen side-by-side. All-in-all.. great rep.

Are the DWs still available?

No, not all are bad. I've had an old Ultimate 088 and I've worked on an old Ultimate 252 (and a DSN GMT watch) and all had wonderful A7750 GMT movements. However, It seems to me that the batch of A7750 GMT movements used by the H-Factory lately are pretty crap.

I've had three 088 I's and all three had defective movements. The first was gritty when setting the time and would "pop" when you tried to wind it. The second was just FUBAR.. missing hands all sorts of bad stuff. Third one has low PR and the reversing wheel is messed up. I gave up and just kept it.. sent it to a watchsmith. It keeps decent time, though.

The lume glows like superluminova. Very bright at first but holds a faint charge after most of the night has past. It glows almost as good as my gen GMTIIc. Kello (timegraph for iPhone) says my Exp 2 is running at 28.8.

It's pretty nice.. I picked up one of these. The lume is a little lumpy. My first ExpII that I received had a broken movement, lumpy lume, chips on the hands and somebody wrote numbers and stuff on the case between the lugs. (very strange) I had to send it back to get a replacement. Here is the one I ended up with:
