  1. I think this movement is the same as the DG 3809
  2. Wheres Gioarmani when you need him?
  3. Is this any good? Any input is appreciated
  4. I thought the same thing But i think its a cost issue, you have the standard 7750 movements 6,9,12, then the 3,6,9 with the module on top. Adding the module isnt difficult. But to strip a movement and add new gears then its going to take time and cost. They could get it made specifically for a watch but then that limits the use of that particular movement. The daytona was a special manufacture but then again its a Daytona and from Rolexx so very popular, worth it! Sorry to say i dont think we will see it and it also what i wont be buying the new Ebel, a beauty it is but a dead giveaway as a rep from a mile away!
  5. Nearly bringing tears to my eyes to read that! I feel for you too, it happened to me when i was younger and it doesnt get any easier the older you get, the attachment/bond is just as strong. Shes in a better place now and the pain will have gone at least you have some comfort in that Take Care

Thanks to all for the help When its all up and running smoothly ill let you know the address Cheers
  8. this is not a genuine part, its an after market bezel insert, just want to know if its good or not

  11. I want to try and start a website just for a bit of fun and i would like to set up an open source online merchant system like oscommerce or zen cart I have tried to get free webshosting from free hostia (got it no probs) and have uploaded the zen cart files by FTP but when i try and install the zen cart software there is a problem. Its not with the Zen cart software but the free web hosting. I need SSL enabled but im not sure how it can be done? there is an option in free hostia but if i try and click enable SSL i get some message saying "if you intended to use SSL certificates of your own, youll need a different ip address for each one of these SSL certificates" and then nothing happens Can anyone help me out? Is there better free web hosting? with no limitations? Any help is appreciated, im very new to this (i.e. 2 hours ago) and have no clue what im doing but learning bit by bit Cheers
  12. I think hes talking about the chopard GTXL Asian movement, AFAIK no one knows what kind of movement it is yet
  13. Right so the Noob factory makes: GMT II Explorer II Noobmariner Yacht-Master TT Noobmariner ETA (comes in 2 gold "grades") OK i know where to get the noob sub and the noob yachtmaster but what about The Noob GMT II and Explorer II? Where can i get them? Do they also have the same serial number?
  14. Bytor reading, excellent, please help
  15. I know that the Noobmariners, beginmariners etc are the same watch and are very good out of the box for the: Submariners Yachtmasters Are the other Asian Rollies up to the same standard? e.g. Explorer Explorer 2 Explorer 2 Vintage Newman GMT master II etc... I have looked at these watches and they seem pretty good. Maybe this has been discussed before? I have read Bytors review of the noob GMT master II but it doesnt look the same as the ones available now, maybe they have changed a few things? The crown looks quite thin as it should, im not expert so if there are any out there please give me some pointers Here is a quick pic from Andrews site
  16. For the noisy rotor put some grease on the bearings, quiet as a mouse now!
  17. Welcome to the club Soon itll be 2,000!
  18. OK it looks like we have got different date wheels, my sub was a noob sub just bought last month. How old was yours?
  19. OK very quickly i dont want to take anything away from Francisco, he has done a great job in this tutorial. I would just like to add that you dont have to take the date wheel overlay off and have the hassle of re gluing. Please also note that this movement is complete, its missing a few parts, so please dont worry about the overall condition of the movement or any finger prints on it, i took these pics just there now and didnt really care about the movement so... Quick pictorial Base movement, Dial and hands off Arrow showing the 3 screws, 1 is easy to get to as its in the middle of the movement, the other 2 not so easy as the datewheel covers half of the screw head Arrows show the datewheel overlay is on top of a white piece of plastic, i have also highlighted the white plastic in red. Why is there white plastic? Using a small screwdriver, the whole white plastic disc has been removed, datewheel overlay is still in tact, no re gluing required! Here you can see how the white plastic datewheel sits on the actual movement date wheel disc, the movement date wheel has holes in it for the white date wheel disc to fit onto, its just a pressure fit, no gluing Now the 3 screws are easily accessible!, simply remove the top plate, take off the date wheel and switch date wheels with what ever movement you want to use, then do the revers to reassemble. This method requires you to take off the top plate of the movement revealing the date mechanism and requires a steady hand. If you are more comfortable doing the glue method by all means do it. Thats what i like about sharing info on how to do things, everyone has their own method, just like Maths, you can arrive at the same answer but use a different method!
  20. Yes thats correct but you still do not have to glue the datewheel back on, just swap date wheels, ill show a pic later if i have time of how to do this.
  21. Good luck trying to find an ETA 2893-2, they are very rare. Try the DG3804B im sure itll be fine, not the best looking of movements, none of the Asians are but youll prob use a closed case back. Good luck with the project
  22. I tried to see if there was interest in the DG4813 movements for $20 shipped but no one was interested! Maybe now they will be?
  23. AFAIK its independently adjustable Can i ask why you want the movement?
